Chapter 557: Chapter 553 Discussion between the Epics and Emperor Chapter 557: Chapter 553 Discussion between the Epics and Emperor “Ding!” “Ding!” The melodious bell sound reverberated above the capital of the Uranos Empire, causing surprise and confusion on many faces. The number of times the bell rang was too many. In the memory of many residents of the Imperial Capital, they had never heard the bell ringing this long before, which caused anxiety in many hearts.

“When the Emperor ascends to the throne, I remember it rings nine times, but how many times has the Century Clock rung now?”

“Te… twelve times,” someone stuttered.

“Something big is definitely about to happen.”

Although the bell sound stopped, the atmosphere of the Imperial Capital became incredibly solemn. Every citizen was extremely suppressed, for the Century Clock would not ring easily. Only during crucial events like emperor succession, his grand nuptial ceremony, return of victorious legions from expedition, and conferring of noble titles, would the Century Clock ring.

The Century Clock rang twelve times, which was unprecedented. Many people, including some of the great nobles with significant powers, the legion commanders, and even the Emperor holding the reins of the empire’s power, had never heard twelve bell rings.

“What’s going on?” Inside the magnificent Imperial Palace, theoretically the most distinguished figure in the world, the one hundred and fifty-fourth emperor of the Uranos Empire, Sandra Criss, seated on the throne, wrinkled his brows. He had sat on the throne for hundreds of years but had never heard the Century Clock ringing twelve times.

“The Century Clock couldn’t possibly malfunction.” Emperor Sandra first dismissed the possibility of the Century Clock malfunctioning. It was a divine artifact created by his ancestors, the first Emperor of the Uranos Empire, and it was impossible to make a mistake. This clock bore the law of cause and effect and destiny, within the boundaries of the empire, and there must be a reason for it to ring twelve times.

“Twelve bell sounds, what could be worth the Century Clock ringing so many times consecutively?” Sandra’s eyebrows were tightly furrowed. When he ascended the throne, the clock rang nine times, and during his grand wedding, the clock rang seven times. But when his general conquered a medium-sized material world, it only rang five times.

“I seem to have a faint recollection.” The emperor rose, recalling some hidden records he had once read. His figure disappeared in an instant, appearing in a library full of a sense of antiquity and the patina of time, where he began to browse the information that only the emperor could access.

“Found it, the Century Clock rang twelve times only once, during the founding ceremony. At that time, two Epic Titans dropped by to attend the founding ceremony held by the first emperor.”

Soon, Sandra found the information he wanted. It was an imperial history that had been documented for one hundred and thirty thousand years, which described in detail everything that happened then.

“Twelve bells represent the arrival of the Epic Titan!”

Even with the emperor’s composure, he could not help showing a shocked expression on his face. “An Epic Titan has arrived, why couldn’t I sense anything? Could it be that the Epics have reached such a level?”

“It shouldn’t be like this!” Sandra was a little perplexed, a hint of confusion appeared on his face. “Even if an Epic Titan comes to visit my ancestor, I should know about it. There’s no way I couldn’t feel anything.”

“Titan!” Sandra took a few steps within the library, hesitated for a moment, then made up his mind. “I am the ruler of the Empire. I have the right to know everything.”

After making up his mind, the black-haired, golden-pupilled emperor reached out and tore open the space, moving into the dark void. He wanted to confirm the records in the imperial history book…

“Sandra, did you come because of the anomaly of the Century Clock?”

“Yes, ancestor.” Sandra stood in the dark void. In front of him was an assortment of colorful light membranes. It is the embryonic form of the World’s attire, behind it resides the founder of the Uranos Empire. Sandra could feel the pervasive sense of insignificance, as if he were facing a boundless ocean, a limitless sky.

“Go back and comfort your subjects. It’s just a small farce after all. The Century Clock made a mistake,” a majestic voice echoed in Sandra’s ear.

“Ancestor, the Century Clock has never made any errors. I’ve checked it out. Twelve bells represent the arrival of an Epic Titan.” Sandra responded. He believed that the Epic Titan was right behind this membrane of light, perhaps chatting with his ancestor. He was not on the level to be noticed, even though he had made his way here.

“But indeed, this time, the Century Clock made a mistake, strictly speaking, it wouldn’t be called a mistake by the Century Clock. After all, this kid does possess source power,” the voice sounded with a hint of helplessness, which made the reigning emperor even more puzzled.

In the eyes of the founding emperor of Uranos, a black-haired, golden-pupilled young man came down from a kilometre-long floating ship. He was curiously looking around, while the people around all ignored his presence as if he didn’t exist.

“Doesn’t possessing source power make one an Epic?” Sandra asked with some doubt. That was what he had been dreaming of, something that many of his predecessors sought after, to no avail.

“There are always some special cases. This time indeed there is an accident, it’s not an Epic Titan that has arrived, but a small Titan with the source power that has run away to us.”

“The hybrid with the Dragon King Bloodline and Titan Bloodline, Muria?” Sandra immediately thought of it, only that hybrid Titan, who caused the fall of more than a dozen deities, would match his ancestor’s description.

“It’s him.” The same hybrid Titan, Uranos, the founding emperor of the Empire, was still observing Muria’s every move, completely oblivious of being watched.

“What is he doing here now?” Sandra had mixed feelings on his face. He envied the source power that Muria possessed. “It’s not yet his time to step into the void. He’s come too early. Also, I’ve not received any prior notice.”

“The kid probably sneaked out. His parents might not even be aware.”

“So, how should I treat him?” Sandra asked. He had a very deep understanding of the status of this hybrid Titan twenty-five years ago.

“I have abdicated the throne, and you are the emperor of the Empire. You can handle it however you see fit.”

“Then I’ll just watch the changes and not interfere with any of his choices, pretending that I am unaware of his existence.” Sandra figured out what he deemed the best method.

“…” There were no answers.

“How do I explain to the nobles in the Imperial Capital and the generals about the twelve consecutive rings of the Century Clock?”

“No explanation is needed. Not just you know what these bell sounds represent, there are quite a few nobles inherited from the founding of the empire.”
