King of Titans and Dragons -
Chapter 543 - 543 539 Basic Skill Requirements of Expedition
Chapter 543: Chapter 539: Basic Skill Requirements of Expedition Legion Soldiers Chapter 543: Chapter 539: Basic Skill Requirements of Expedition Legion Soldiers Under the glow of the temperature-less white sun, Muria stood on the battered land. The ice mountains and hills that used to dominate this landscape had all disappeared, replaced by numerous slash scars scattered among large and small craters. These were left over from the battle between Muria and the divine descendant of the snow leopard.
The dramatic geological changes reflected the intensity and brutality of the battle. Due to Muria’s all-out efforts, his power, which was incompatible with this continent, melted vast frost and snow glaciers. Like a miniature sun, he radiated light and heat, illuminating the cold frozen soil day and night, creating a lake that under normal circumstances should not exist.
In many of his attacks that fell to the ground, a part of his power remained. This power was sufficient to prevent the lake formed during the battle from re-freezing in a short time. As for how long it would last, it depended on the dissipation of Muria’s power. Nonetheless, without any interference, it wouldn’t be a problem for it to last a few centuries.
“You lost!” Without caring about the lake that was gradually forming beneath him due to the melted ice, Muria, surrounded by thunder flames and emitting an overwhelming, formidable aura, held the head of a frost giant head in his hand at eye level.
“If I had a weapon like the one in your hand, I wouldn’t have lost.” The head of the divine descendant of the snow leopard, now severed, spoke with resentment. He believed he lost because he was at a disadvantage in terms of weaponry.
“You’ve really lived a few hundred years in vain. A battle is a battle, there are no ‘ifs’.” Muria shook his head. Even though this divine descendant was born a few hundred years earlier than him, his mental maturity did not match his age.
“I could say that if I had the same legendary fifth-rank strength and experience of equal length to you, even without these armors and weapons, I could beat you single-handed. Would you believe that?”
“That’s impossible, I…”
“Enough, I don’t have time to bicker with you.” Muria stared at the head in his hand, “Have your father come out to talk to me. As a loser, you’re not qualified to have a conversation with me now.”
“You…” Just as the divine descendant of the snow leopard was about to say something, his eyes slowly closed, interrupting his speech. Then, a sacred and inviolable powerful aura emanated from his head. When his eyes opened again, the original pale golden pupils had turned golden, appearing more imposing and oppressive.
“God of the Snow Leopard, Sinbad.” Muria looked at the frost giant head that had swapped consciousness, a soft smile on his face. He felt sympathy for this divine descendant of the snow leopard. Although he inherited part of his father’s divine power, he had to pay a price.
As long as his father willed it, he did not have free will. If the God of the Snow Leopard unexpectedly fell, he would become his father’s vessel for resurrection, and he would no longer exist. In fact, the birth of most divine descendants was the divine beings’ back-up plan to prevent their unexpected demise.
“Titan, you can let go now. In this battle, you’ve won.” The divine descendant of the snow leopard, or the God of the Snow Leopard Sinbad, looked at Titan who had defeated the strongest power he had painstakingly arranged in the Material World. His tone was cold.
He actually had another choice— to control his offspring’s body and temporarily raise his power to the Legendary Peak. Such power was enough to defeat the Titan before him, who no longer possessed that terrifying Dragon King’s Power. But Sinbad felt that if he wanted to continue living, it was best not to do so.
“Also release my child’s body.” The free God of the Snow Leopard under Muria’s palm turned his attention to the headless giant’s body, pinned to a mountain of ice by Muria and bound with a Star Cloud Chain, that continued to struggle.
“I’ll let it go when we’re finished talking.” Looking at the headless giant’s body that he had beheaded and tied to the mountain, yet still full of life, Muria was reminded of a famous war god from his past life.
“What do you want to talk about?”
“I need your frost giants to serve me.” Muria got straight to the point.
“Impossible.” The God of the Snow Leopard Sinbad rejected her without hesitation. Letting the giants follow the Titan would basically mean that the gods would have nothing to do.
“You need to understand, I’m the one with the power now. You can’t stop me. If I want, I can shake you off right now.” Muria calmly stated the reality that Sinbad didn’t want to face.
“Titan, you should also understand how important the existence of the frost giants is to me. Without the faith of the frost giants, I will be unable to maintain my god position and will only have the path of demise. You’re trying to kill me. In such case, I’ll no longer care about your identity.”
“Wait!” Watching the increasingly struggling giant body, Muria looked at the head in front of him that was carrying the consciousness of a god with a subtle look in his eyes, “The root of this issue is the problem of faith. If I can provide you with enough faith, you’re willing to let go, right?”
“Of course, but where can you get the faith to give me?”
“Have you heard of the Frost Queen Clodia?”
“Of course I have. The newly-crowned legendary white dragon, who conquered four countries in the Northland in less than a month, and also withstood the revenge of the human kingdoms. It’s said that the punitive expedition formed by seven legends has all fallen. Now she is the most famous evil dragon on the Depluson Subcontinent. What does she have to do with you?”
“I raised her.” Muria spoke indifferently, then watched as the face of the Frost Giants in front of him underwent a series of complex changes; from dumbfounded to shocked to appalled and finally disbelieving. His mood instantly brightened, akin to eating cold watermelon on a hot summer day. The Academic Overlord White Dragon had indeed lost face. This had now become his trump card when engaging in impressive talk with other powerful entities.
“So?” The Leopard God, after grappling with his complex emotions, fixed his gaze on Muria. He knew what Muria could offer him.
“I can give you the right to preach legally in the Frost Queen’s dominion. No one will stop or oppress your missionaries.”
“Not enough!” The Leopard God stared intently at Muria, “I want the Frost Queen to officially recognize my church as a national church and legislate to force those humans to believe in me.”
“What nonsensical foolishness are you spouting?” Muria flatly rejected the Leopard God’s request, “You’re only a deity with inferior divine power, yet, you desire the faith of four human kingdoms. Aren’t you afraid of biting off more than you can chew? Permission to legally preach is enough.”
“Such a condition does not compensate for the loss of my Frost Giants followers.”
“You have to understand. To humans, the Frost Queen is a foreign ruler. She will suppress all Human Churches. You are the first beast god to receive her preaching approval. Don’t you realize how much of an advantage you have?”
“Let’s sign the contract!”
…
“This is a defense you’ve forcibly built up with divine power!” Within the Cold Crow tribe, Muria stood in the gathering area, overlooking the steep glacier that encircled the Frost Giants gathering space in an irregular shape, with four exits.
“It’s not just defense, there are many Cold Crow nests on top of it.” A Cold Crow with a wingspan of twelve meters stood on Muria’s shoulder, its eyes sparkling with divine glows of golden color.
“Tell the Cold Crows living above to all get out and find a temporary home to live in for a while.”
“What are you planning to do?” The Cold Crow God Isriel, possessing a tribal member, asked with curiosity.
“I’ve already ordered the relocation of the entire Frost Wolf Tribe and the Snow Leopard Branch Tribe, a total of approximately sixty-seven thousand Frost Giants, to your Cold Crow tribe. Then, on the original site of the Cold Crow tribe, I will establish a city belonging to the Frost Giants.” Muria looked down, “For that I need to flatten all obstacles above.”
“Establish a city? Is that necessary?” The Cold Crow God seemed puzzled, “Keeping it as it is quite nice! This won’t affect you forming the Frost Giants legion, right?”
“It affects a lot.” Muria frowned slightly, gazing at the chaotic layout of the houses below, he preferred neat construction and tidy city layouts. “There are no Frost Giants who meet my requirements right now, they’re too ignorant. With their current level of intelligence, they can’t form the war legion I need.”
“The average strength of Frost Giants is quite good, with a little training, a legion can be formed that is capable of overwhelming anything, just like the White Dragon Queen, who conquered four human kingdoms within a month.”
“Your vision is too short-sighted, Isriel. What kind of legion do you think I need?”
“Ga?” The Cold Crow God was slightly confused. A Titan less than a hundred years old accused him of shortsightedness.
“A planar expedition legion that can adapt to various situations. For that, every soldier in the legion must be proficient in at least ten commonly used languages, including dragon language, elvish, celestial language, Dwarven language, master the use of more than three magical weapons, learn basic maintenance of five different types of weapons, learn to drive floating warships… these are the basic skills that even the lowest-ranking soldiers in the legion I want must learn.” Muria said in one breath, leaving the Cold Crow God dazed.
“This is the legion you want to form? There are so many skills, and they’re all just for basic-level soldiers?” The Cold Crow’s eyes widened, “Are you trying to conquer the world? With such high standards, some dukes may not even meet your requirements.”
“Yes,” Muria’s face showed a sigh, “There are too few giants who meet my requirements, so I need to spend time to train them myself!”
“Ga!” Looking at the Frost Giants below preparing to move and pack their belongings, the Cold Crow God asked, “You’re planning to train these Frost Giants to become soldiers that meet your legion requirements?”
“Of course, as long as they’re not innately brainless, I can train them to become the soldiers I want.” Muria said resolutely.
