King of Titans and Dragons -
Chapter 537 - 537 533 A Potential Deity
Chapter 537: Chapter 533: A Potential Deity Chapter 537: Chapter 533: A Potential Deity “One more thing, my name is Aeske,” the Wolf God looked at Muria, having the divine intuition that there was some issue with the name Samoyed.
“I understand, Samoyed,” Muria nodded.
“My name is Aeske, not Samoyed.”
“Didn’t you say it didn’t matter what I call you?” Muria retorted, “So I can call you Samoyed if I please.”
“What do you plan to do next?” The Wolf God asked, no longer discussing the matter of his name, “Do you still intend to conquer the Frost Giant Tribe?”
“Of course, I have a comprehensive plan, this is just the first step. Simply having one Frost Giant Tribe isn’t enough, I need more Frost Giants,” Muria’s eyes gleamed with golden light, the light of ambition.
“In that case, I suggest trying a tribe west of here, identified by the totem of the Cold Crow. A companion there already awaits your arrival, and with their aid, you will conquer the Cold Crow Tribe much more easily than the Frost Wolf tribe.”
“Is that so?” Muria was somewhat skeptical.
“Of course! That’s the privilege of being a Titan!” The Wolf God uttered these words that sounded like mockery with a nonchalant tone. As soon as he finished speaking, the cold and smooth touch in Muria’s hand vanished. The lively Samoyed, looking fierce, transformed back into the towering, crouched statue of the Wolf God.
“That was it,” Muria lifted his hand from the rigid, icy statue, a trace of regret on his face. He certainly did not have a habit of stroking ice sculptures.
“The West?” Muria stood, moving towards the direction the Wolf God had indicated.
“You don’t need to follow me, just wait here. In three days, someone will come to deliver my command, guiding you. At that time, Frost Fang, lead your entire tribe to follow my messenger and relocate. That will be the place for Frost Giants to flourish once more.”
Muria refused the pledge of every Frost Wolf in the tribe, for he did not need it nor was he going to wage a war. He was merely going to win over the Frost Giants.
…
“The Cold Crow Tribe!” When Muria found the Cold Crow Tribe, as indicated by the Wolf God, he was surprised despite his mental preparation. A Legendary Frost Giant leader, slightly weaker than Frost Fang, stood with over thirty-thousand Frost Giants outside an ice castle, seemingly awaiting his arrival. The moment they spotted him, they all knelt reverentially.
“Greetings, Titan!”
“How insightful!” Faced with the scene before him, Muria mused inwardly. Though he and Clodia had predicted his conquest would go proficiently, they had not expected it to be this smooth.
“Cold Crows?” Muria raised his eyebrow, observing a rather intriguing sight. Beside every Frost Giant stood a snowy Cold Crow. With their bodies low, the left wing shielding their fronts and the right wing spread out behind, they mimicked the human geresture of respect. The sight was rather ludicrous, yet interesting, causing Muria’s lips to curve slightly upward.
“Would you like to follow me, to fight for me?” Even though he already knew the answer, Muria asked the question, deciding to go through with the motions.
“We are willing!” “Caw, Caw!” The expected replies rolled out. Aside from the grating caw of the crows interspersed among the responses, all of it only further boosted Muria’s spirits. He wanted to meet the respected deity of this tribe and have a proper conversation with him. This was a very suave deity, acting completely unlike a deity.
“All rise. Lead me to where you venerate your deity.” Muria walked up to the leader of the Cold Crow Tribe, asking casually, “What is your name?”
“Frost Feather!”
“Unfortunate name,” Muria commented, “it does not match your strength.”
“Your Highness Muria, only the strongest of the Cold Crow Tribe can use this name. It symbolizes glory.” Frost Feather stood up, led the way for Muria with a complex expression on his face and explained the meaning of his name.
“So, Frost Fang is also the title of the strongest of the Frost Wolf Tribe?”
“Yes.”
“The two deities, heh,” Muria grinned. He had just noticed the frost giant leader’s address to him. He had not informed the frost giant leader of his name, yet he had called it out. To claim there was no connection between the two deities would insult Muria’s intelligence.
“Your Highness Muria! That is the idol in the center.” The frost giant leader led Muria into the gathering place of the Cold Crow Tribe – a vast frozen valley surrounded by a continuous ring of glaciers. The glaciers served as a natural defense. However, no matter how he looked at it, Muria felt that the glacier, which resembled a city wall, was not naturally formed but rather forcefully crafted by a powerful being.
Muria stared at the majestic crow statue that stood proud and ready to fly in the center of the valley. He walked over and spotted the broken blocks of ice that surrounded the statue. A grand structure must have once stood here.
“I can shrink in size. There was no need to demolish the temple,” Muria said, smiling as he stared at the idol in front of him. ‘To give respect is to receive respect’ – this was one of Muria’s guiding principles. Since the deity had shown him such respect and nearly fulfilled his wishes, he naturally didn’t mind making a few concessions in non-critical matters.
“A narrow ice palace is too oppressive for a deity like me.” The icy and rigid idol started moving. It underwent a transformation from an inanimate object to a living entity. An avatar of the deity had descended and a faint aura of divinity spread out. “I prefer to be under the vast sky. I ordered the demolition. So, you needn’t worry, young Titan.”
The Cold Crow God, after its descent, didn’t immediately start groveling to Muria like it had in the presence of the Wolf God. It still maintained some dignity, despite knowing it would soon abandon it.
“What should I call you?”
“Cold Crow God, Isriel.”
“So, Isriel, as a deity, what is the purpose of your descent and meeting me?” Muria felt the power of the deity. In addition to the frost power similar to the Wolf God, Muria also sensed the wind, and even a trace of death power.
The mixture of powers was interesting. It implies that the Cold Crow God could potentially touch upon more divine domains and inevitably attract more enemies. Looking towards future developments, he had more potential than the Wolf God. He had more choices, and was therefore more likely to be killed by other powerful deities.
“I am a life-or-death ally with Aeske, the Frost Wolf God.” The Cold Crow God, Isriel, was very direct and not playing any tricks. Since he had decided to submit, he would naturally have to understand the characteristics and habits of the Titan. The Titan seemed not to like deceptive tactics.
“When you were talking with him, I was watching from within his Divine Kingdom.” The words of the Cold Crow God surprised Muria. For a deity to enter the Divine Kingdom of another, whose powers largely overlap with their own, the level of trust would have to be immense. This gave Muria a deeper understanding of the relationship between the two deities.
“You reached a consensus and cooperation with that stubborn fool, which I am somewhat envious of.” The Cold Crow God straightforwardly expressed what he had in mind, “Therefore, I also want to cooperate with you. As for terms, they can be the same as the ones you have with him.”
“Besides this Frost Giant Tribe, what else can you give me? Samoyed promised that all Frost Wolves on the Depluson Subcontinent could serve me.”
“I can promise you that all Cold Crows on this continent will become your eyes.” The promise from the Cold Crow God moved Muria greatly. He found himself unable to refuse.
“Deal!”
