Chapter 517 - 517 513 The Fearful Gods
Chapter 517: Chapter 513: The Fearful Gods Chapter 517: Chapter 513: The Fearful Gods Under the watchful eyes of three colossal deities, each embodying divine power, ripples started to undulate within the space before them. Two silver-white metallic palms pierced through the space, clutching its left and right sides to tear it apart with sheer force. Through the expanded spatial tunnel, a hundred-meter tall metallic titan strode out with an uplifted head and broad strides, standing among the divine embodiments.
“What brings you here?” asked the mechanical avatar temporarily fashioned by the Mechanism Emperor. It served as an extension of the Emperor’s will at that moment.
“An avatar?” The sight of the metallic titan caused Sun God Peiro’s face to betray momentary dissatisfaction. The reason he, along with the Dawn God Lorshanda and Justice God Tyr, had descended in avatar form to visit the Titan was due to the constraints of world rules. Otherwise, they would have preferred to descend in their true forms, for what they wished to discuss with the Epic Titan was of utmost importance.
They had no choice but to descend in avatar form, but the Mechanism Emperor was just dispatching an avatar to deal with them in response, and it seemed that the other Epics of the Titan Tribe had no intention of revealing themselves. This was highly disappointing, as they showed no respect, behaving as if these deities were beneath their notice.
“Your Excellency Mechanism Emperor, we have come to discuss the usage of the Stellar Orbital Cannon.” Without any attempt to sugarcoat his words, Justice God Tyr went straight to the point of their visit.
Twenty-four years ago, four Epic Titans slew a god, an act that had residual effects to this day, with even intensifying trends. The Mechanism Emperor’s weapon, the Stellar Orbital Cannon, was a major factor and had incited the gods’ fear.
This world-ending level weapon seemed to be specifically designed to counter the deities, regardless of any other considerations.
Storm Lord Talos, such a dominant and aggressive deity, had sold out his dignity and let the Titans be lenient. However, his Divine Kingdom had still been punctured.
Another deity, Sea Goddess Amboli, was in an even worse state. In her battle with Wilderness Lord Akmonde, all the gods had witnessed how Akmonde couldn’t slay her outright in her Divine Kingdom and was even at risk of being counter-slain.
However, the course of the battle was immediately reversed after one shot from the Stellar Orbital Cannon. Sea Goddess Amboli fell, her head severed by the Wilderness Lord and her Divine Attribute shattered. In that God Killing battle, the Stellar Orbital Cannon played a decisive role. Without the Cannon’s intervention, there was no chance that the Sea Goddess could have fallen.
Such an outcome naturally instilled fear and panic among the gods. The movement speed of a Divine Kingdom was too slow, and even the slow-charging Stellar Orbital Cannon would have a sure hit. Once the Mechanism Emperor decided to strike, there was no way to dodge.
Who could bear such a threat? A deity of intermediate divine strength could be ended with just one shot, let alone weaker ones. As for deities with formidable divine power, multiple hits from the cannon would be similarly fatal, as evidenced by the Storm Lord’s Divine Kingdom. Presumably, only those deities of great divine power who were indifferent to everything in the world could withstand the attack of the Stellar Orbital Cannon.
“Is there a problem with my orbital cannon?” asked the mechanical avatar of the Mechanism Emperor, knowing very well the response of the gods was within their expectations.
“The gods fear your Stellar Orbital Cannon,” said Dawn God Lorshanda bluntly, revealing the current feelings of the gods in the Temple of All Gods without any attempt at concealment.
“Are you afraid, Lorshanda?”
“I believe I can withstand your Stellar Orbital Cannon.” As a deity in the Erathia World most likely to elevate to the great divine power level, Lorshanda was extremely confident.
“Then why are you here?”
“I’m here for my subordinate gods. They may fall under your Stellar Orbital Cannon.”
“As long as they honor their duties, I won’t attack them,” said Mechanism Emperor Osiris.
“Such assurance is hardly satisfying for us gods.” Hearing that Lorshanda was confident in blocking the Stellar Orbital Cannon, Sun God Peiro’s heart was filled with shock, envy, and jealousy. His divine power was not complete, only a part of it at best. If he could control the entire Sun priesthood, he could certainly ascend to the level of great divine power, but that was impossible. The powers of the other Sun gods were no weaker than his. Without any unforeseeable circumstances, it was never possible for him to obtain the complete Sun priesthood.
“Why should I satisfy you deities?” The avatar of the Mechanism Emperor looked at Sun God Peiro as if he were a fool. Even when Lorshanda was being polite, Peiro dared utter such arrogant words.
“Mechanism Emperor, understand this – the existence of the Stellar Orbital Cannon poses a grave threat to the survival of deities. If you don’t dismantle and destroy this cannon, it’s very possible that our gods will band together against the Titan Tribe.”
“Are you threatening us, the Titan Tribe? If you want to wage a war, bring it on!” Before the avatar of the Mechanism Emperor could respond, a disdainful voice reached the ears of the three deities.
“Ancient Prison Master, I can’t speak for other deities, but myself and my subordinate gods will absolutely not be enemies of the Order Titans.” Lorshanda spoke out to distinguish herself from the god-awful Sun God Peiro, a fool who couldn’t even discern the situation. This idiot was no less than a downright liability.
“I feel likewise. I can represent the gods of justice in guaranteeing that we will never be enemies of the Titans.” The Justice God Tyr also put his stance forward. Given the nature of the Titans, they were natural allies rather than enemies.
“I’m merely stating a possibility, with no intention of offending.” Seeing the two main gods distinguishing themselves from him, Sun God Peiro internally cursed them for being cowards while he maintained a stiff upper lip to explain his stance. As an impressive deity, he didn’t possess the necessary qualification to threaten the Titan Tribe.
“Hmpf!” Seeing the cowardice of the Sun God, the avatar of the Mechanism Emperor emitted a col,d snort before speaking, “The purpose of building the Stellar Orbital Cannon is to combat the entities in the void. It’s not aimed at you deities. Deities are guardians of the world. I am aware of that. Hence, I won’t indiscriminately activate the Stellar Orbital Cannon against any deity. As long as you don’t provoke us Titans, we won’t deliberately target anyone.”
After finishing, the avatar of the Mechanism Emperor cast a disdainful glance at Sun God Peiro, who was radiating a crimson gold Sun Flame like a human-shaped torch, causing unrest in the deity’s heart.
“In the Void War, how much of a role can the Stellar Orbital Cannon play?” Lorshanda asked, skeptical. Although the Stellar Orbital Cannon was extremely powerful, it was nearly impossible for it to hit the physical forms of entities at their level.
“In the void, there are some evil gods who cultivate their subordinate armies in worlds that serve as cradles. The Stellar Orbital Cannon was built to deal with such worlds.” The Mechanism Emperor revealed his purpose for building the Cannon, indirectly expressing his intentions.
