“No, you must have seen it wrong,” replied the pirate with a foul smelling stench, lifting his rum to take a big gulp, somewhat dizzy.

“You’re so drunk that you have the nerve to say I’m mistaken?” retorted the pirate who had merely raised his head to see the vague silhouette of a skull, obviously annoyed.

“Even if you saw a head, so what? Maybe it’s just a merman or sea creature.” The drunken pirate, stinking of liquor, started laughing,

“What do you expect? A siren, or a mermaid? Hah, those are semi-humanoid creatures with fish tails. Unless they willingly let you touch them, forget it.”

“Naive. Who said just because the lower bodies are fish tails, we can’t do anything? You guys lack experience.” Another passing pirate, attracted by their conversation, eagerly asked “Who spotted a siren? Or a mermaid?”

“Are you crazy? There’s no such thing as mermaids in these waters, maybe mermen.”

“What I saw was definitely not a mermaid. The colour of the head was similar to the sea and difficult to discern. That’s why I’m unsure.”

“That must be a merman then, no doubt about it.”

“That’s bullshit, it’s a huge head. It reminds me more of the Tidal Giant we saw three years ago.”

“Your story is getting more outrageous. How can such a rare creature like the Tidal Giant appear here? Maybe you’re like me, drunk, and seeing things?”

“Do you think I’m like you, always with a bottle in hand, forever drunken?”

“I may be drunk but when it’s important, I sober up quickly. At least, I don’t mess things up.”

“Enough! I think the huge head I saw might belong to a Tidal Giant.”

“Are you kidding me? Is your eyesight better or the ship’s detection array more accurate? The detection array hasn’t sounded any warnings. Why are you worried about a Tidal Giant?”

“Maybe it’s concealing its Qi? The detection array can’t detect all powerful creatures. Last time, that one-horned tiger shark almost broke our ship without the array reacting.”

“Even if it is a Tidal Giant, we would have nothing to fear. It wouldn’t even bat an eye at us, so it won’t matter even if we run into it.”

“We can’t say for sure. Everything happens on the sea. It wouldn’t be too surprising for a Tidal Giant to be after us now.”

The pirate clutching the rum stared blankly into the sky with his one eye as five floating ships quickly approached them. His body exuded a strong aroma of liquor. This was his talent, allowing him to rapidly expel alcohol from his body and remain conscious when facing danger.

“What’s that beside the floating ships?”

For pirates terrorising the sea, floating ships weren’t too unusual. Many overseas merchant corps liked to use floating ships for cargo transport. But they seldom encountered creatures like those next to the floating ships.

“Those are Cloud Giants, which trading association can actually afford to employ so many Cloud Giants?”

“Wonder what kind of valuable goods are in those floating ships. If we could loot it, hahaha.”

“Don’t play with death. With guards of this level, they could annihilate our pirate gang.”

“Hahaha, I am just joking. In the end, it’s the captain who gives the order. When he commands us to act, we just have to follow.”

… The approaching floating ships sparked a heated discussion among members of the small pirate gang with only three ships. Their faces held a mixture of awe and greed.

“All hands – Prepare for battle.” A determined voice, amplified by Fighting Qi, boomed throughout the three pirate ships .

“Is the captain planning to fight them? But we are clearly outmatched.”

“Is he sending us to our deaths?”

“You bunch of idiots.” The stern voice echoed once again, seething with anger ,”Look clearly, those aren’t merchant ships, they are floating warships, and they’re coming for us.”

“Boom!” As his words echoed, a magic-guided light column crashed upon the sea next to one of the pirate ships. The fiery energy evaporated massive amounts of sea water. The huge impact caused the sea surface to churn, raising huge waves which drenched everyone onboard.

“You have three breaths’ time to surrender!”

Under the blue sky, a reverberating dragon’s roar sounded. A terrifying shadow of a dragon was cast upon the pirate ship, combined with the softening effect of the dragon prestige, the pirates immediately recognized the identity of the massive creature descending from the cloud layer, rapidly diminishing their will to fight.

“Surrender or die!” shouted the giant green dragon, exuding soft green spirit light, casting its ultimatum, while its neck bulged, ready to attack.

“Why are there green dragons in the ocean?” The unkempt, chest-length bearded pirate captain watched the green dragon in the sky, a grim look on his face. He couldn’t comprehend why this dragon, typically residing in warm forests on a continent, was here, accompanied by giants.

“Boom!” Another sizzling magic-guided light column descended from the sky, instantly cutting the mast of the battleship where the pirate captain was standing. It fell into the sea, raising another massive wave.

“The first shot was a warning, the second one intentionally missed. If it were to directly hit…” Captain Drake, with a large bushy beard reaching his chest, stared at the broken mast, his skin twitching violently, his palm trembling slightly. He was just barely a gold rank, barely immune to a magic cannon. The outcome would definitely be being reduced to a pile of bone meal.

“All hands…” Seeing the floating ships closing to within five kilometres and the green dragon overhead, his mouth slightly agape, ready to strike, bushy-bearded Captain Drake made the most wise decision of his life, as well entirely in line with his inner wishes.

“Drop your weapons, place your hands over your head, kneel and surrender. No one is allowed to resist.”
