Chapter 461 - 461 457 Method to Make Everyone Obey

Chapter 461: Chapter 457 Method to Make Everyone Obey Chapter 461: Chapter 457 Method to Make Everyone Obey Muria cast a glance below at the nobles who had come to the ceremony, a flicker of surprise crossing his mind. These people’s reactions were far more subdued than he had anticipated.

Muria had asked Remilia to publicly reveal her non-human identity at her coronation ceremony, in other words, to unfurl her unique wings and observe the reactions of the nobles.

Since the founding of the Scarlett Family, until the era of Belradin, they were pure-blooded humans, without mixing of any other bloodlines. Muria wanted to see how these nobles would react when Remilia, during her ruling period, turned into a non-human entity.

Surprisingly, the anticipated intense accusations and criticisms did not occur. All nobles remain silent, calmly watching their queen unveil her magnificent wings.

“It seems that humans have a high capacity to accept the fusion of other bloodlines in their rulers,” Muria thought with interest. He recalled an intriguing statistics compiled by the legendary devil Mels, who exploited intelligence networks he had established.

Out of all the nobles, less than thirty percent retained a pure human bloodline. Furthermore, this small portion did not hold significantly high authority due to their bloodlines offering no notable advantage compared to other nobles.

Therefore, it is undeniable that the Scarlett Family is incredibly mighty, especially the successive kings who managed to control everything without possessing an absolute power of their own.

“Of course, that’s probably not the main reason,” Muria stated with a sneer, “likely they are mostly scared from all the killings.”

Otherwise, due to the nobility’s tendency to uphold traditions and adhere to ancient rules, Muria found it hard to believe that they would all accept his queen’s new identity.

“Starting from today, I am the thirteenth ruler of Lockman Kingdom, Remilia Scarlet. I vow to protect every citizen from any harm, I shall…..” The seemingly delicate princess recited her Royal Oath of Ascension – a statement Muria had spent whole month to concoct, but in a childlike voice.

Such a passionate proclamation released from a somewhat feeble Loli could not carry any substantial deterrent effects or so it seemed. However, this was not entirely true, as its effectiveness was fully corroborated by the presence of Muria and the ten ancient dragons standing next by, all in human forms.

“By the declaration of the thirteenth queen, cease… cease…..” Remilia who had just completed her inauguration, quickly announced her intentions of altering the Law Codes. These changes were something she had been longing to do due to various unequal societal norms she encountered during her travels throughout the kingdom.

The pronouncement surprised Muria, who was attentively observing his newly inaugurated Loli queen. He understood her proposed laws very clearly. In essence, her plan was to reduce the exploitation of the underprivileged commoners and, once again, curtail the power and privileges of the nobles.

“Your Majesty, these laws you…” Naturally, the nobles voiced their discontentment. As soon as the new queen was crowned, she wished to reduce their power and equity.

The queen being a pure blood human or not was a matter of the Royal Household and expectedly did not affect the nobles significantly. However, these laws touched on their personal interests, and under no circumstances, could they maintain their silence.

“Do you have an objection?” Remilia the new queen stared expressionlessly at the protesting noble, “Or you are unsatisfied with my ascendance to the throne?”

“No… no.” The nobleman, under Remilia’s cold gaze, swallowed his saliva audibly, his shirt soaked in cold sweat. His breath hitched in his chest, uncomfortable.

He hadn’t expected the adorably looking queen, who unfolded the wings behind her back to look a little more authoritative, to impose such a heavy pressure when she stared.

“Then, why aren’t you leave?” Remilia scowled at the subservient noble below, suppressing her urge to slay him on the spot. Her elder brother Muria has suggested to her that it is ideally not to act on such impulse, in order to display her benevolent and kindly nature.

“Yes.” The nobleman, noticing the gaze of the regent Duke Muria, hastily retreated, returning to his previous position in the line. What could the loss of a few privileges weigh against his own life? Moreover, there is always a chance of regaining these anyway.

Because of Muria and the ten ancient dragons, as well as the five legendaries who were loyal to the royal family, all nobles including the seven legendary dukes decided to stay silent.

As for the other two ranked Legendary mages from Lockman Kingdom, they remained silent, refraining from meddling in matters that did not concern their personal interests.

Thus, following Remilia’s coronation, her childishly whimsical laws were passed and began to take effect, greatly boosting the public’s affection for the new queen.

“It looks like some more people will have to die.” After Remilia’s coronation, although the Lockman Kingdom appeared to be calm, waves of unrest were brewing behind the scenes. Many ambitious figures were waiting for the right moment to seize their opportunity after Muria’s departure.

“Remilia, the laws you’ve promulgated have resulted in widespread dissatisfaction among many nobles,” Muria said, looking at the Loli queen who seemed slightly more dignified now due to her attire and the wings on her back, curiosity flashing in his eyes. “How are you planning to handle their discontentment? And what about their backlash after I leave?”

“Before you leave the Lockman Kingdom, find all the nobles who are discontented and bear a grudge against me, and kill them all. Replace them with nobles who are willing to obey me, and that should do.”

“The desire to kill is too strong; I wonder where you learned that from?” Muria sighed helplessly. He thought his mother, Golden Dragon Mother, should bear most of the responsibility for Remilia becoming this way. It had very little to do with him.

Although he had several times slaughtered the nobles of the Lockman Kingdom to such an extent that heads rolled, rivers of blood were spilled, and the trees outside the royal city were almost filled with nobles’ corpses, these incidents should, probably, maybe, not affect the Loli queen.

After some thought, Muria taught Remilia solemnly, “Remilia, killing nobles should be done with a reason. You can’t just kill according to your liking, as this will earn you the infamous title of tyrant, which is quite unpleasant.”

“Then how is it done?”

“Firstly, you have to come up with a valid excuse. Find a grievous crime for the noble you wish to kill, a crime so heinous that they would deserve death, for instance, treason, rebellion, collusion with demons etc.

Anyway, you decide. Dead men can’t speak, so you could easily list such crimes. In conclusion, even if you kill, it must be done to their submission.”
