Chapter 456 - 456 452 Loli Ascends the Throne
Chapter 456: Chapter 452 Loli Ascends the Throne Chapter 456: Chapter 452 Loli Ascends the Throne Each Cloud Island collected by the Wind King Hawk is significant, with the largest ones comparable in size to Muria’s Taiji Island. These islands are essentially miniature floating territories.
To transform all these Cloud Islands at once is tantamount to constructing one hundred thirty-two cities – a burdensome task for the Lockman Kingdom.
“I have been most generous.” Muria stared at the endless vast sky before him and spoke out abruptly. “Mia, just imagine, what would be the fate of the Lockman Kingdom after the Magic Disaster if I were not here?”
“Annihilation.” Mia paused for a brief moment before answering. Accompanying Muria, she knew many hidden pieces of information.
For instance, many countries on the Nocchio Subcontinent, after enduring the Magic Disaster, barely existed in all but name. The populace of these countries was almost completely wiped out by the endless surge of demons; the term desolate fails to encapscribe their tragic state.
Legends are the pillars of a country, but what’s the use of a pillar without the common people as its supporting foundation? Yet even those countries that have legends to speak of are barely managing to keep it together; at the very least, they can reestablish themselves. As for those countries that lost their legends, they are, in essence, completely destroyed without question.
“Mia, ever since I acted as the Grand Duke of Lockman, all I’ve done is give without receiving anything in return,” Muria’s tone was indifferent. “I am no saint and can’t pretend to offer selfless contributions without expecting anything in return.”
Upon hearing Muria’s words, Mia, standing behind him, opened her eyes wide, looking at Muria in disbelief. It seemed to her that Muria’s behaviour was becoming more and more like Archmage Atris, having lived with him for several years – not least in his ability to utter brazen statements, which the young master Muria of the past would not have dared to say.
Talking about not expecting anything in return? Would you take a look at your half-plane dominated by the Mage Tower, filled with all sorts of auxiliary profession geniuses you’ve gathered? What else is this if not your return?
Not saying a word, Mia looked at Muria, her expression full of resignation. This was her master, and no matter how dissatisfied she was, could she replace him?
“Without my protection, the Lockman Kingdom might have fragmented and crumbled by now, let alone having a chance to rebuild,” Muria calmly explained his contributions.
As far as he knew, his kingdom was the one that had best preserved its power on the Nocchio Subcontinent. The other two kingdoms on this continent were critically wounded, with one showing signs of division.
“When the previous ruler of the Lockman Kingdom entrusted the country to me, he did not mention any compensation,” Muria didn’t turn back, his voice was flat. “Do you know what this signifies?”
“Even amongst the Metallic Dragon Clan, one needs to pay for help from others, let alone from a different race.” Before Mia could say anything, Muria interrupted, “Everyone knows this, and so did Belradin. The kingdom he entrusted to me is the compensation he gave me.”
“Do you understand?” Muria turned his head to look at his personal maid, “All of this is my due. Furthermore, I haven’t oppressed the commoners of Lockman too much; the Giants and Zor Elves under my command are the main force behind the Cloud Island refurbishment plan.
“The Lockman Kingdom only needs to supply the materials needed for the transformation of the Cloud Islands. I didn’t ask for much. I can confidently claim that I have not oppressed a single commoner in Lockman.”
…
“Remilia, how did you find the nationwide tour this time? Any insights?” Muria, dressed in a loose robe, stood on the floating ship port in the royal palace, greeting the Loli princess who has visited every city in the Lockman Kingdom.
“I am not happy at all; there are too many places in the Lockman Kingdom that dissatisfy me.” A seemingly more mature Thoughtful Remilia stepped off the floating ship, excitedly approached Muria, wrapped her arms around Muria’s waist, and rested her chin on his chest. She looked up at him.
“Hmm, so how do you plan to manage these unsatisfactory places?” Muria patted Remilia’s little head with a hint of gratification. After two years, the Loli princess had not changed at all. It seemed as if time had stopped for her.
“Kill them all!” Remilia confidently proposed her solution.
“Huh?” Muria’s eyebrows slightly furrowed, and a subtle expression appeared on his face. It did not seem appropriate for a princess, who has always been in the deep palace, to say such violent words.
“Kill everyone who opposes me, has objections to my orders; that way, those who are left will be all willing to obey my command. Kill all the nobles who harm my country, and then, those who remain will be the ones who benefit the country.”
“Mels!” Hearing the Loli princess’s response, Muria twitched the corner of his mouth, looked at the middle-aged gentleman faithfully following the princess. He accused, “Did you teach her this?”
“Prince Muria, as per your command, I have not interfered with or influenced Princess Remilia’s thoughts and actions in any way. I have faithfully executed every order she gave.” responded Mels.
“Then explain to me why my innocent and adorable princess is having these ideas?” To solve everything with slaughter – the thought of a tyrant. Muria reviewed his usual demeanor and could not find anything remotely tyrant-like. Therefore, it wasn’t his mistake; it must be Mels’.
“Your majesty, this has nothing to do with me.” This head devil, who had already broken through to the legendary realm, was quick to wash his hands off the blame. “The change in Princess Remilia’s thoughts should be somewhat related to your mother, Archmage Atris.”
“Who taught you these ideas?”
“Sister Atris,” Remilia replied without thinking, “The knowledge about governing that Sister Atris taught me, which I experimented with on this countrywide tour, was really useful.”
Upon hearing the term “Sister,” Muria remained still, not at all surprised. This was very much like Golden Dragon Mother. “Mels, tell me about your experiences over the past two years.”
…
“Prepare to ascend to the throne, Remilia.” After listening to Mels’s brief description, Muria looked at the Loli princess who was still hugging him. Now having been educated by the Golden Dragon Mother in the idea of “killing all those who disobey” and having tried it out, Remilia had become a qualified tyrant.
“Once I ascend to the throne, you will leave, won’t you, Brother Muria?”
“See those Cloud Islands on the horizon? I won’t leave until I get them all moving.”
