King of Titans and Dragons -
Chapter 426 - 426 421 Ansols Hand
Chapter 426: Chapter 421: Ansol’s Hand Chapter 426: Chapter 421: Ansol’s Hand “Too little.” Looking at the azure blood in the crystal vial, the Golden Dragon Mother expressed dissatisfaction.
“Contentment breeds happiness.” Muria looked blankly at the Wind King Hawk that was going back to sleep, quoting a proverb from a past life.
“Tch!” The Golden Dragon Mother Atreus sneered, “Where did you read such words that lack ambition? Only those who are discontent can truly become powerful. Without desires, there is no motivation to move forward. Those who are satisfied are just mediocre.”
“…” Muria twitched the corner of his mouth. He was just trying to get the Golden Dragon Mother to be content, but she seized the opportunity to chide him.
“See,” pointed out the Golden Dragon Mother at the Wind King Hawk, “There are too many beings and things that I cannot comprehend. If I have enough strength, I would easily learn about these. The exploration of the unknown is my motivation to move forward.”
“Only those with sufficient strength should explore the unknown, or else they’re just courting their own death.” Muria murmured to himself. The Legendary Beasts could erase even a divine name of a deity.
The Golden Dragon Mother, having harvested slightly more than she had anticipated, walked contentedly between the crowd of Cloud Islands with Muria. She was intrigued by the large number of gathered Cloud Islands and wanted to investigate whether these were naturally formed or caused by external factors.
“Little Muria, don’t you think these stacked Cloud Islands look like an enlarged pine cone?” Standing above hundreds of Cloud Islands, the Golden Dragon Mother suddenly had an audacious thought and asked Muria.
“Pine cone?” Muria was slightly taken aback, then carefully observed the clusters of Cloud Islands around the Wind King Hawk’s island as the core. Despite the seemingly chaotic layout and the irregular shapes of each island, it did seem somewhat like it.
“It does look a bit like it, but the locations are too scattered to resemble the regularity of a pine cone,” answered Muria. He curiously looked at the Golden Dragon Mother, admiring her imaginative thinking of associating it with a pine cone.
“The positions of the Cloud Islands can be adjusted, and the shapes can be modified.”
“What are you thinking then?” Muria asked.
“Don’t these Cloud Islands seem like the rough models of Floating Cities? With a little renovation, they can become hundreds of Floating Cities,” replied the Golden Dragon Mother, her eyes shining with excitement.
“Can Cloud Islands be transformed into Floating Cities?” Muria asked. He had never heard of such a concept.
“Yes, this technology was researched by some idle guys of the Arcane Federation.” The Golden Dragon Mother Atreus gave a mocking smile,
“The original purpose of this study was to save resources in building Floating Cities. But when actual construction began, they discovered that building Floating Cities on Cloud Islands was no less cost-effective than building them from scratch.”
“Why so?” asked a puzzled Muria. The main energy expenditure for a Floating City is its levitation. Supposedly, this output could be conserved, thus saving resources.
“The positions of most Cloud Islands are fixed. To construct, either a legendary mage is required to move them, or construction materials need to be teleported directly onto the Cloud Island.
Plus, Cloud Islands are scarce and every one of them has a different shape, so planning and design have to be redone for each new City. This method cannot be scaled up nor save any materials. For the Arcane Federation, this was a fruitless study, thus it was abandoned not long after.”
“Mother, do you mean that you have the technical information to transform Cloud Islands into Floating Cities?” Asked Muria nervously, his gaze flickering. Unconsciously, he has adopted a respectful address for her.
“I couldn’t get their advanced technology, but it’s fairly easy to get knowledge on abandoned projects.”
“Um!” Muria was eager to ask for this technology, but then he remembered an essential point. Seeing the Cloud Islands below, he fell into deep thought, “These Cloud Islands do not belong to me. They have nothing to do with me.”
“These belong to the Wind King Hawk, huh,” the Golden Dragon Mother thought for a moment and then dismissively waved her hand, “Creatures of this caliber often slumber and their waking times are very brief. After it enters deep sleep, the ownership of these Cloud Islands will be yours.”
“But they were never mine to begin with.” Muria shook his head.
“Why bother splitting hairs? Even if you transform all Cloud Islands into Floating Cities, the Wind King Hawk won’t mind as long as you don’t touch its nest.”
“I’ll think about this.”
“Yes, you now control all the resources of a kingdom. If you don’t take this opportunity to allocate resources for your own use, you don’t know when you’ll have another chance.”
…
In the silence of a dormant volcano, nasty sulfur mingled with all kinds of poisonous gases, and hot magma tumbled around.
Suddenly, as if stimulated or attracted by something, the magma churned up like a geyser, accompanied by a roar of excitement, and the volcano erupted.
With magma shooting up into the sky, a demon, stout and strong, bathed in lava, crawled out of the volcano’s mouth. The oppressive aura of a high-ranking demon spread with the emergence of the demon, causing the few low-ranking demons to cower on the ground, trembling in fear.
Soon, the erupting magma calmed down as it was merely a surge of fire caused by this powerful demon awakening.
“The Will of the Abyss is calling me!” The Balrog Flame Demon, enveloped in flames and with dark red skin, growled excitedly. A flaming whip formed in his hand, and a Beheading Sword materialized in his other empty claw.
“Material World!” Excited, the powerful Balrog Flame Demon swung its sword, cutting through space, responding to the Abyss’ guidance, crossing layer upon layer of the Abyss. Along the way, demon energy poured into its body, replenishing its exhaustion.
“Weak beings of the Material World, offer your souls to me.” At last, the Balrog Flame Demon arrived at an abyssal layer that was about to be absorbed and merged by the Erathia World, then easily broke through the spatial barrier it initially couldn’t, and descended onto the Nocchio Subcontinent.
“Cackle!” The Balrog Flame Demon eagerly laughed while watching the animals fleeing beneath him and the plants beginning to burn.
But just as it was reveling in its success, a palm wreathed in golden thunder broke through space and reached out to its skull…
