King of Titans and Dragons -
Chapter 365 - 365 360 Daydream
Chapter 365: Chapter 360: Daydream Chapter 365: Chapter 360: Daydream In the spectacular Royal Palace at the heart of the Royal Capital Scarlett, named after the royal family of the Kingdom of Lockman, Muria watched with some annoyance at the energetic King Belradin. His current state betrayed not the slightest hint that he was a man on his deathbed.
“Just how many more people do you intend to invite to my coronation ceremony?” Muria asked helplessly. Over the past few days, apart from transferring all his clandestine rights to Muria and teaching him how to handle political affairs, the king seemed to be excitedly dispatching a large number of messengers.
Not only had Belradin notified all the major and minor nobles within the country and in the three surrounding foreign nations, but he also informed every prominent country and power on the Nocchio Subcontinent. For any force that had a legend amongst its ranks, he sent a messenger.
From his display, it seemed as if he desired the entire Nocchio Subcontinent to know that Muria was about to take over as his Archduke of the Kingdom of Lockman.
Of course, this was impossible. With only a mere fifteen days to prepare, the time was far too short. However, letting half of the subcontinent’s forces know and attend Muria’s ceremony was manageable.
After all, the teleportation arrays of the Erathia World are remarkably developed now. All forces with a bit of foundation could construct and use them, for Kingdom-level powers, they could even establish teleport arrays throughout the nation.
“The more, the better, of course.” As Muria expected, Belradin indeed wished the entire Nocchio Subcontinent to know about Muria becoming his Archduke of Lockman.
The Scarlett Family had ties with such an astonishing entity, so naturally, they wanted to promote it widely. By then, no forces would dare to trouble Lockman Kingdom.
“Alright, arrange it as you will.”
“By the way, have you contacted those ten ancient dragons? When you take over the scepter from me, you need to summon all of them. If something goes wrong, it would be quite embarrassing.” Since he was already a dying man and had been in Muria’s company day and night for these past few days, Belradin had lost all his kingly demeanor and cunning. He practically said whatever came to his mind.
“You’ve asked me this question at least eighty times if not a hundred. I’ve already contacted them, don’t worry. Those ancient dragons have all agreed.” Muria looked helplessly at the king, who had become somewhat apprehensive.
“That’s good, that’s good.” Belradin, feeling somewhat embarrassed by Muria’s complaints, gave a sheepish smile. But soon, the blue-haired middle-aged man cautiously asked Muria, “Could we do a rehearsal now and summon those ancient dragons for a trial?”
“What do you take ancient dragons for?” Muria looked somewhat annoyed and helpless at the king.
Although he found it both amusing and vexing, Muria felt some empathy for the king. Belradin’s soul had been severely corroded by the curse, his impending death meant the shattering of his soul, a fate even crueler than a normal human death.
About such an outcome, the king surprisingly took it in stride without any overwhelming emotions or actions. He calmly accepted it. All he couldn’t let go of now were two things: the Kingdom of Lockman and his daughter, Remilia. Hence his determination to ensure the smooth success of this ceremony.
…
16 days since Muria was summoned to the Nocchio Subcontinent.
On this day, in the wee hours of the morning, when the sun hadn’t risen yet and the sky was still gray, the Royal Capital of the Kingdom of Lockman started boiling with activity, soldiers were everywhere maintaining order and the nobles entered the city to attend the ceremony.
“Why is it so noisy?” In a manor of two to three acres, a noble teenager nestled in a velvet duvet was awoken by the clamor of the city. His annoyed protest a show of his frustration upon being woken up so early.
“Anderson, have you slept yourself silly? Have you forgotten why we teleported all the way to the Royal Capital?” The moment the noble teenager complained, his door was kicked ajar with a bang. There stood a young girl dressed in a luxurious court dress, revealing her slender, white shoulders and delicate collarbones. She stood at the doorway teasingly looking at her younger brother.
“Ah, Lydia, when will you ever behave like a proper Noble Lady and politely, quietly knock on my door, instead of barging into my room like an unruly commoner girl?”
“A proper Noble Lady?” Hearing her brother’s words, the noble girl, Lydia, revealed a teasing smile. “My foolish brother, don’t tell me you actually believe that those well-mannered, articulate Noble Ladies you usually see are like that for real? Don’t be naive, their real selves behind closed doors are no different from your dear sister.”
“I won’t believe a single word you say. A true Noble Lady could never be as coarse as you.” Anderson replied with an expressionless face.
“Some of those ladies you’ve seen before are even cruder than you think, you just haven’t seen it. The world isn’t filled with genuine ladies, especially not for someone who can’t even remember the time properly,” Lydia harshly burst her brother’s unrealistic bubble, “I will one day find a true lady to be my wife. Just wait.”
“Naively foolish.” Lydia shook her head, not in the mood to argue with her naive little brother who hadn’t seen the cruelty of the world. “Hurry up and get up, get dressed, and stop lying in bed.”
“The sun isn’t even up yet.” Noble boy Anderson complained a little, “Even if today is the day of the Reigning Duke’s succession, isn’t it too early right now?”
“What do you mean too early? Just now, a Legendary Duke has already entered the royal palace to wait. We need to prepare quickly, then go to the palace.” Lydia urged anxiously, “Father is already preparing; now it’s just you.”
“Why are you so excited?” Anderson looked at his usually late-rising sister with some curiosity.
The scale of this ceremony was indeed very large, but it had nothing to do with their minor nobility. They were merely there to create a backdrop.
“Don’t you know? The Duke who is about to succeed King Belradin is a Golden dragon.” A dreamy look appeared on Lydia’s face, “I heard Golden dragons are knowledgeable, and in their humanoid form, they’re all handsome, refined, and elegant men.”
“You’re daydreaming again. Do you really expect that a Golden dragon capable of serving as the Reigning Duke of the Lockman Kingdom would be interested in a human country noble girl like you?” Anderson bluntly dismissed his sister’s fantasies.
