King of Titans and Dragons -
Chapter 357 - 357 352 The Reigning Duke
Chapter 357: Chapter 352: The Reigning Duke Chapter 357: Chapter 352: The Reigning Duke “Ridiculous, how old is Muria now? He’s not even a legend, how could he be of any help?” Upon hearing that Golden Dragon Mother was shirking duty and not sharing the burden for him, but rather pushing her unripe grandson forward, Dragon King Dimos was immediately somewhat annoyed.
“How is he useful? Dad, Muria is far stronger now than you were back in your day. He is now renowned throughout the Osroni Continent and almost everyone knows him.”
“Oh? What on earth has he done?”
“Apparently, he had a fight with a human legend and didn’t lose.”
“That’s it?”
“He summoned three ancient dragons and forced an explanation out of the ruler of the Aminis Kingdom…” Golden Dragon Mother Atris briefly mentioned Muria’s deeds daily in the Osroni Continent. On the surface, she seemed indifferent to Muria, but she was actually fully aware of his every move.
“Profligate.” Hearing Muria’s combat achievements, Dimos, who brightened up the sky like the sun, did not show any surprise. He also had the right to summon ancient dragons in his day, but he didn’t use it often.
Thus, his current thought was that his grandson, Muria, was truly extravagant. Summoning ancient dragons would cost money. Where does this money come from? Tracing the source, it still came from their seniors.
“So, his grandson Muria can replace you instead.” Hearing her father’s vexed tone about Muria’s profligacy, Golden Dragon Mother didn’t care. After all, it was Muria’s own money, not hers.
“Does he have enough wealth?” Upon hearing his daughter persistently encouraging his grandson to take risks, Dimos as a senior couldn’t help but ask, with summoning ancient dragon rights, as long as one was willing to spend, almost nothing is unsolvable.
“Rest assured, even if Muria is surrounded by a group of ancient dragons, he still has money to burn.”
“Then let him go!” Hearing the description of his grandson’s assets from his daughter, Dragon King Dimos instantly made a decision.
“Alright.”
Within the vast, dark, and silent void, the majestic Dragon King lightly slides his claws, following the bloodline connection between him and Muria, he transferred the power of summoning himself to Muria, who seemed to be teleporting, directly changing his teleportation endpoint.
…
In a miniature semi-plane littered with elemental crystals, King Belradin, holding his little daughter Remilia’s hand, looked at the altar in front of him with a touch of trepidation, doing exactly as the Scarlett Family’s inheritance required.
That light golden scale just now, within their Scarlett Family, is one of the symbols of inheriting the throne.
According to family inheritance, when the family is on the verge of destruction, holding the scale and entering this semi-plane, the legendary Ancient Golden Dragon Dimos can be summoned to seek protection, allowing the family to continue to inherit.
“Boom!” After Belradin placed the dragon scale in the center of the altar, a seven-colored spirit light pillar rose into the sky, penetrating the space, connecting to a strong presence in the dark.
At the moment of connecting with the Dragon King, this semi-plane experienced an astonishing scene. Starting from the edge of the semi-plane, the crystals filled with abundant elemental energy and shining with dazzling spirit lights quickly became dim and transparent at a speed visible to the naked eye.
The colossal elements that even legends found astonishing was drawn into the altar, maintaining the summoning.
“It’s coming!” Seeing the pillar of light becoming more radiant, Belradin revealed undisguised joy on his face. He was not only looking for a temporary governor for the Lockman Kingdom, but also a strong protector for his daughter.
The Ancient Golden Dragon Dimos, which only existed in legends, was the best choice. Eight hundred years ago, it was this powerful golden dragon that helped their Scarlett family establish the Lockman Kingdom. Eight hundred years later, it’s unimaginable how much stronger this Ancient Golden Dragon would have become.
As the light pillar became increasingly radiant, a light golden oppression silently permeated the semi-plane, causing the nobles and ministers who came to witness the governor’s arrival to feel extremely depressed. Even a few of the legends unknowingly furrowed their brows, also feeling discomfort.
Under the glances of a wildly ecstatic yet slightly puzzled Belradin, a somewhat short figure materializes within the pillar of light. As the radiance receded, revealing the figure’s features, the king’s expression suddenly stiffened.
“Are you His Excellency Dimos?” Belradin frowned at the slightly dazed young man standing on the altar. He sensed something was awry, but still clung to a shred of hope as he asked.
“His Excellency Dimos?” The somewhat bewildered Muria, standing atop the lofty altar, caught the words from the man below, his face weathered, and the flame of life flickering weakly. A twitch crossed his lips.
Muria had a rough idea of what was going on. After his successful encounter with the elf Queen in the Vimier Elf Forest, he was preparing to set forth to the Nocchio Continent via the intercontinental teleportation array.
Under normal circumstances, he would have landed in an elf kingdom on the Nocchio Continent. Yet midway through, something unexpected happened.
A summoning pillar imbued with powerful strength and a familiar aura descended upon him, compellingly pulling him into this tiny semi-plane.
Initially, he was perplexed. But upon hearing his grandfather’s name, realization dawned. All of this was a setup by his grandfather, once again he had been manipulated by his elders.
“Dimos is my grandfather.” Muria, who had an inkling of the oncoming trouble, gazed up at the rainbow elemental cloud covering the sky, feeling somewhat helpless.
A group of people led by a high-ranking human about to meet his demise, summoning an Ancient Golden Dragon from the Lawful Good Alignment, meant nothing good.
Upon learning the identity of the young man with black hair and golden eyes on the altar, Belradin’s face twitched. There must have been a malfunction in the summoning altar. He was supposed to summon the Ancient Golden Dragon, but instead, he summoned their descendant.
“I’m sorry, young sir, could you please come down?”
“What, do you want to try and summon again?” Muria gripped the light golden dragon scale suspended before him, eyeing the middle-aged man below who was attempting to reactivate the summoning altar.
“I desperately need the assistance of your grandfather, His Excellency Dimos.”
“Don’t bother trying, no matter how many times you try to summon, my grandfather will not appear here.” Muria looked around, examining this semi-plane built upon elemental crystals, already converted into a large summoning array.
“Why not? Our Scarlett family’s ancestors made a promise with your grandfather. That, in case of insurmountable danger, we can use the dragon scale you’re holding to summon him, then he must come and help the Scarlett family again.”
“Your summoning array is too small and cannot accommodate the arrival of my grandfather.” Muria glanced at the array patterns beneath her feet, and nonchalantly said, “to summon my grandfather, it would take an array that could summon a deity’s true form, this one falls far short.”
“Has His Excellency Dimos ascended to godhood?” A surprised delight flashed across Belradin’s face. Having a connection with a real god would solve many things.
“Not quite a god, yet nearly so.”
“Is that so?” Upon hearing Muria’s reply, Belradin fell silent— caught in a tense, internal struggle.
“Tell me, what difficulty were you hoping to solve by summoning my grandfather?”
“Little sir, what is your intention?” This time, Belradin spoke in a more respectful language. The situation had changed, Dimos’ strength had exceeded his expectations, stepping into the realm of gods.
“Since I’ve appeared here, it should be clear enough. I’ll take on the responsibility of resolving your difficulties. Tell me, what were you planning to get my grandpa to do?”
“To serve as the Archduke governing our kingdom of Lockman!”
