Chapter 343: Chapter 338: Precious Goods Chapter 343: Chapter 338: Precious Goods “Did you see that?” Muria pointed to the green-skinned goblin shouting loudly beneath the knight statue, turning to the non-human members of her group.
“See what?” The kitten beside Muria asked in confusion, following her pointing finger to a finely sculpted knight statue but not understanding why she would draw attention to a dull object like that.
“A goblin.” Muria’s eyes shimmered with a golden light. She was certain that she wasn’t under any illusion or mind influence. She was seeing an actual goblin.
Although to all other creatures except Muria…
“What goblin? I don’t see any.” Auston, in his human form, looked perplexedly in the direction Muria was pointing. Apart from countless lowly humans and humanoid creatures, he didn’t spot a single goblin.
“So it appears none of you can see it.” Muria revealed an amused smile upon seeing the confused dragons behind her.
“Bronia was right, this world indeed has many interesting creatures and objects. This is only the third city I’ve visited and I’ve come across such an intriguing being.”
Feeling a sense of awe, Muria then approached the shouting goblin. Possessing enough power, her curiosity encouraged her to move closer.
As Muria steadily neared the goblin, the latter who had a sleazy aura, noticed her. The goblin’s excited shouts were instantly halted, and it greeted Muria, bending its hunched body at a right angle in respect.
“Honored customer, what can I assist you with?” the goblin asked.
Muria looked around after standing in front of the goblin and slightly frowned. It seemed as if she had entered a unique area where she and the goblin were equally ignored by pedestrians, as if they didn’t exist.
Observing for a moment, Muria then examined the goblin. It was a small figure, with disproportionately long ears and a pointy nose on its ugly head, looking similar to any ordinary goblin in the wilderness. However, Muria was confident that this was more than just a typical goblin.
Muria looked carefully at the items displayed on a rag in front of it, showing uncontainable surprise. She then turned her gaze to the goblin, who was wearing a flattering smile, and asked,
“What are you?” This goblin’s collection of treasures were of such a nature that anyone would be filled with greed at their sight.
Rare metals of a legendary nature of all sizes that Muria could use, dazzling weapons and armors imbued with spirit light, a handful of books radiating a slight aura of pressure, limbs, hearts, blood of powerful creatures…
However odd it seemed, these treasures, valuable enough to cause great creatures to fight to the death, or spending a fortune to purchase, were not recognized by Muria at first glance, or rather, she had seen them but subconsciously overlooked them as unimportant, like pebbles on a roadside.
This goblin somehow obscured the presence of these precious treasures, causing one to subconsciously neglect them unless closely examined.
“Just a humble goblin merchant.” The goblin humbly answered Muria’s question.
“Small business?” Muria glanced at the treasures that stirred even her heart and lightly pulled the corner of her mouth. She was having a sudden urge to rob these valuables. Only her high moral standards and her inability to see through the goblin held her back from such a temptation.
“Is there anything you wish to purchase among the items?” the goblin asked.
“Yes, I want more than half of the things you are selling,” replied Muria narrowing her eyes, “The question is, what do I need to pay to acquire them?”
“Honored customer, you are my deity,” the goblin said, its eyes glowing with a soft blue light and looking extremely excited, “You only need to pay with Elemental Crystals.”
“Elemental Crystals?” Now, Muria showed a smile. Purchasing rare and exotic treasures like Legendary Metal usually required a barter rather than using crystallized forms of elements like Elemental Crystals.
Nevertheless, Muria still wanted to gauge the price. If the goblin demanded ten thousand Elemental Crystals for a small piece of Fine Gold the size of a human thumb, Muria would refuse to pay.
“How many Elemental Crystals for this piece?” Muria picked up a piece of Mithril the size of a fist and asked to feel out the price.
“A thousand Elemental Crystals, honored customer,” the goblin courteously replied after seeing Muria’s selection.
“Quite affordable,” Muria was instantly tempted by the price. She pointed at all the Legendary Metals on the stall, “I want all these Legendary Metals. Can you calculate the total cost?”
“Generous and kind customer, I will calculate it for you immediately,” Hearing that Muria was buying all the Legendary Metals on his stall, the goblin was over the moon. It grinned from ear to ear, forming a quite unattractive smile.
“A total of forty-eight thousand seven hundred cubes is required, honored customer,” said the goblin while grinning, “Let’s just round it up to fifty thousand cubes, shall we?”
“…” Muria looked speechlessly at the goblin that just showed its shameless side. The way this goblin talked as if it was making a sacrifice to offer her a great bargain was astonishingly impressive.
“I’ve never heard anyone round up numbers like this. Shouldn’t you subtract seven hundred Elemental Crystals for me?” Muria contested.
“Customer, this is money for trading Legendary Metals. It can only be rounded up, not down,” the goblin pleaded with a pitiful look, “Plus, I have more than one hundred wives and over three hundred children to support. Life is not easy, please have mercy on me and be more generous.”
“More than one hundred?” Muria looked at the skinny goblin in front of her, her mouth twitched, “Are you sure the bigger pressure here is life, not your body?”
“Of course, I am very strong,” the goblin boasting about having over one hundred “wives” pounded on its chest. However, lifting the rag that covered its thin torso exposing skinny rib cage, it looked very unconvincing.
