King of Titans and Dragons -
Chapter 332 - 332 327 Bootlicker
Chapter 332: Chapter 327: Bootlicker? Chapter 332: Chapter 327: Bootlicker? Pride is an emotion that intelligent creatures can easily generate. Whenever they achieve a considerable accomplishment in a particular aspect, this emotion tends to develop within them.
For instance, back then, when Muria resided on Taiji Island, there was no other worthy adversary in his sight, not even the most powerful Storm Giant was more than a match for him. Even in such a situation, and despite knowing of other beings similar to him around the world, he was still inflated with arrogance.
It wasn’t until later, when he traveled to the Titan Tribe Lands and fought the Titan tribesmen, was his arrogance ground away.
Quite obviously, Dragon Mother Atris had a similar background when she was young. No same-aged dragons she came across were a match for her, thanks to her potent ancestral dragon bloodline. This led to the birth and amplification of her arrogant heart.
On the other hand, Ansol, her challenger and his father, clearly didn’t harbor an arrogantly proud heart. As he grew up among the Titan Tribe Lands, surrounded by mostly Titan kinsmen and a host of exotic creatures with legendary bloodlines. Therefore, arrogance wasn’t something the Titans had in them.
“Your mother was willing to admit that her defeat was down to arrogance. However, she didn’t believe that she was in any way inferior to your father.
As a result, your mother prepared herself to challenge your father. She began studying binding spells targeted at him, which could temporarily suppress the negative magic of a Titan in battle.”
“Did my mother succeed?” Muria asked, finding it hard to believe. The Titans’ hierarchic stage of life was at the peak of the world. Almost all instant death spells, curse spells, and negative spells were ineffective against Titans, who could only be defeated in direct combat.
“You could say it was a hard-won success.,” Bronia scratched her chin. “Your mother devised three eight-ring spells specially designed for Titans. During her second challenge, she managed to restrict your father’s movements for less than a breath’s time.”
“What did she accomplish during this short time?” This brief moment seemed to pass in the blink of an eye to mortals, but for the Dragon Mother at that time, she could do plenty. After all, the Dragon Mother then was powerful and arrogant.”
“She transported your father to the Fire Element Realm, then utilized the advantages of the environment and her pre-laid plans there to defeat your father, and sequester him in the Fire Elemental realm for a whole month before returning him to Erathia.”
Muria licked his lips, pondering the development of specialized spells and arranging the battlefield in advance was, after all, the way of the Mage Dragons. There was nothing wrong with this.
However, there were only a handful who could play this game like the Golden Dragon Mother. Just the aspect of independently developing new spells alone could essentially eliminate 99% of mages.
Unfortunately, Muria fell within the eliminated category. Without a complete understanding of even the foundations of commonly used spells, it was even less likely for him to create new ones.
This was not his mode of combat. For Muria, magic battles were just a way of output. He did not inherit Dragon Mother Atris’ top-tier talent in spell research.
Or perhaps he had inherited this talent, but did not have the time to harness it. The heritage of the Titans alone was demanding enough to absorb all his energy.
“After that, your father and mother became real competitors, deeply involved in a never-ending series of battles against each other.
If one side suffered defeat, the other side could definitely win the next time around. In this way, through endless battles, their destinies became thoroughly entwined.”
“So in the end, did our parents fall for each other and then ended up together?” Muria was a little puzzled. This way of proceeding seemed inexplicable. They started off as opponents and ended up being a family.
“I heard many things happened afterward, but about those specifics, I’m not sure.
In fact, when I heard these rumblings, I found them a little hard to digest.” Bronia, gazing directly at Muria, scrutinized his truly unique form.
“It was not until now seeing you here that I’m convinced that Atreus did indeed choose a Titan as her companion, became his mate, and together spawned a formidable hybrid offspring.”
“Hehe.” Muria chuckled dryly while stroking his chin. “Um, Bronia, do you happen to know where my maternal grandmother is now?”
“In the endless void.” The majestic mountainous red dragon looked up at the obsidian ceiling above and said, a tinge of regret in its eyes, “Dimos has become the Dragon King, and of course, Yarista would not concede by staying behind. Thus, she too embarked on that hopeless road with no return.”
“The Void…” Muria murmured quietly. The endless void was a place where those keen to attain Epics, would choose to go. Almost all members of the Titan Tribe would choose to go there, too.
With the bloodline of a Titan, one would undoubtedly attain the pinnacle of legends within a thousand years. By that time, they would make the choice of entering the void as they already reached the maximal limit of their powers and material world.
However, less than one or two percent of the Titans who tread on the Path of Epics and ventured into the endless void would end up returning, as most of the Titans would fall into the endless void. A smaller number would lose their way in its boundless expanse and never find their way back.
Only the Titans who achieve the level of Epics could eventually return to the Erathia World, becoming a powerful presence that stood shoulder to shoulder, and even towered above the deities. They would last endlessly for countless eons.
“When Yarista was about to leave Erathia, I implored her to take me along.” Sadness appeared in Bronia’s eyes. “But your maternal grandmother refused. She said that I was too weak and lacked the qualifications to follow her. I deserved only to stay in Erathia as an ordinary ancient red dragon.”
“Um, Bronia, when my grandmother said this, she was just looking out for you.” Muria, a little helpless, tried to console the dejected red dragon, “She just didn’t want to use you as cannon fodder.”
“I’m aware that she spoke like that on purpose, but her words really struck true. My abilities were just too weak then to be of any help to her.”
“…” Muria pulled a face. This ancient dragon seemed a bit self-abandoning after being rejected by his grandmother.
Red Dragon Auston, who was beside them all this while, lapping up the gossip about his family, stood as the best proof.
“Bronia, do you have any offspring?” Muria asked tentatively.
“No, when I was younger, I followed your grandmother and wasn’t really planning on selecting a mate. I tapped out of our follower relationship when I was about to become an ancient dragon.”
“So, you don’t have any descendants.” Muria looked at the ancient red dragon with somewhat mixed feelings. She dedicated her entire first half of life to his maternal grandmother, but the rest was mostly a waste.
She gave him everything but didn’t get what she wanted in the end.
