King of Titans and Dragons -
Chapter 264 - 264 259 Breaking the Way
Chapter 264: Chapter 259: Breaking the Way Chapter 264: Chapter 259: Breaking the Way “Muria, aren’t you leaving?” Kaslana asked, frowning at Muria. She felt that this descendant of the Dragon King was overly concerned about the humans.
In her eyes, only those humans, like the holy warriors willing to enter the Bavarian Kingdom to aid their fellow people, deserved help and concern. All others were low and repulsive, especially those who reveled in their ignorance and greed.
“Once the Undead Council leaves, I’ll go.” Muria smiled, “I know, you’ve been bothered by that overly attentive general these past few days. You go ahead, you don’t have to stay here with me.”
“No, I don’t feel comfortable leaving you here alone.” Kaslana shook her head firmly, “I want to keep an eye on you.”
“Watch me? For what?” Muria smiled helplessly, “I’m not a child. Although I may appear as a human adolescent, my age is much greater than theirs.”
“Of course, I know you’re not a child.” Kaslana moved closer to Muria, and a slightly fragrant musk filled Muria’s nostrils, making his body slightly hot.”
“But I feel if I don’t watch you, you’re likely to follow those holy warriors into the Bavaria Kingdom.”
“How so?” Muria revealed a bitter smile, shaking his head, “I am not as noble as those holy warriors. Sister Caslana, I do not fear your ridicule, I am terrified of death. I am extremely, immensely fearful of death.
I want to go on living, traverse this vast world, and appreciate all the sceneries I have never seen before. I also want to venture into the endless Void and see what other worlds look like, what kind of creatures live there, and how they differ from the beings in Erathia.”
“There’s nothing ridiculous about that, even deities fear death.” Kaslana laughed happily at Muria’s frankness. Fear of death is a natural instinct of all creatures. She too, feared death; there was nothing to ridicule about it.
“However, little brother Muria, your ambition is really grand, to traverse the entire world of Erathia and venture into the endless Void. I have not even traversed the entire Aiolia Subcontinent yet.”
“Traveling the whole world of Erathia is just my first minor goal.” Muria tilted his head, smiling brilliantly, and said in a half-joking manner, “Being the Dragon King and roaming the Void is my second minor goal.”
“Minor goals? That’s really…” Upon hearing Muria’s two minor goals, Kaslana couldn’t help but reveal a slightly shocked expression. She was indeed surprised by Muria’s ambitions, but on second thought, such ambitions were fitting for his identity as a descendant of the Dragon King.
“In order to achieve my goals, I’m not willing to die young.” Muria laughed, “So, unless there are more than twenty ancient dragons and a Dragon King on my side, I absolutely will not enter the Bavaria Kingdom. You can rest assured.”
“Twenty ancient dragons?” Kaslana shook her head with a smile, although she knew that Muria was joking, she still explained, “The previous gathering was due to an extraordinary situation. Normally, it’s quite rare to see twenty ancient dragons gather.
My grandfather said that all the dragons in the entire Ionia subcontinent, including those of ancient rank, amount to fewer than fifty, and most are in deep slumber. Unless faced with a life-and-death crisis, they usually cannot be awakened.”
“That few?” Muria frowned.
“Take us metallic dragons for example, out of ten dragons, probably not even one will live long enough to reach the ancient dragon stage. This world is very dangerous,” Kaslana sighed, “Moreover, when dragons reach the ancient stage, due to reasons unknown to me, many ancient dragons will leave this world.”
…Muria and Kaslana chatted, killing time by discussing things he didn’t know about. When the passionate music started, Muria laughed, “Another team of holy warriors is assembling, let me see them off.”
The black-haired golden-pupiled adolescent calmly stood up, a Teleportation Gate flickering with spirit light appeared in his hand, and Muria appeared beside the gate of Patrick Fortress.
“You really didn’t have to do this,” Kaslana said, following him over and watching the team of holy warriors approaching, “You have already saved thirty thousand humans from Bavaria Kingdom, while these holy warriors have only managed to save three children.”
“It’s different.” Muria said seriously looking at Kaslana.
“Ah, Muria, you’re too kind.” Kaslana sighed.
“I’m just doing what I can.” Muria pointed at a band of minstrels who were vigorously playing to see off the holy knights, “Just like them.”
The holy warrior procession moving forward to the grand music soon arrived at the city gate. The holy warriors who saw Muria blocking the city gate all bowed their heads to him in respect.
After Muria returned the bow, he turned and walked towards the outside of the fortress, while the holy warriors followed him slowly, exiting the city gate. Before they set off, someone had already informed them of what to expect at the city gate.
“Crackle!” Muria pulled out the Starfall Bow that was cultivated inside his body and drew the bowstring proficiently. The power inside him surged out, diffusing a slight amount of power, and creating golden arcs that leapt in the air.
A thunderbolt and flame-enveloped golden arrow formed on the Sunspear Bow. Mysterious Ancient Divine Texts glowed on the grand and exquisite bow, engraving some patterns on the energy arrow, and terrifying energy waves began to spread around the city gate.
“Tsk, the humanoid Magic Cannon is about to show its might again.”
“This scene is always great to watch.”
Several murmuring voices came from nowhere and entered Muria’s ears, making the corners of his mouth twitch.
“Boom!” Muria released the bowstring. The conjured golden arrow that had reached his limit of control shot out.
The air emitted a loud bursting sound, and rings of sound explosion spread. The golden arrow, the size of an ordinary arrow when it was released from the bowstring, kept increasing in size until it was about to enter the Undead Mist Barrier. By then, its diameter was even larger than a human, turning into a column of light shooting into the Undead Gray Mist, crushing everything in its way.
“Charge following my arrow,” shouted Muria to the holy warriors behind him as he released the bowstring.
“Rumble!” Without any hesitation, the holy warriors followed Muria’s instructions and advanced along the grand path paved by Muria’s arrow.
That was why Muria stayed at Patrick Fortress and didn’t leave, he wanted to pave the way for every team of holy warriors entering the Bavaria Kingdom, doing what he could do.
