King of Titans and Dragons
Chapter 263 - 263 258 Inheritance

Chapter 263: Chapter 258 Inheritance Chapter 263: Chapter 258 Inheritance “Someone’s coming out!” From the top of the fortress wall, an officer shouted as he watched the number of undead within the fog wall drastically diminish. “Hold all fire. They are human, not undead.”

In the gray fog, a great ball of golden flame could be seen moving forward. Wraiths, ghosts, within the Undead Gray Mist, rushed at the flame like moths darting into fire. Then, they screamed and dissipated into wisps of eerie blue smoke.

“Phew.” Kaslana, who was also situated on the city wall, sighed in relief when she saw the familiar energy emanating from the golden flame. If Muria didn’t appear soon, she had planned to inform her grandfather and go in after him herself.

“They’ve finally arrived! Open the defense barrier and let my companion in.” Without looking back, Kaslana issued the command to the human commander beside her, displaying the typical haughty attitude of the Golden Dragon towards humans they deemed unimpressive.

“Open the barrier. Let that flame in.” The Soul Intent Level general, after secretly swallowing hard at the sight of Kaslana’s almost perfect profile, loudly ordered his subordinate officers.

“Boom!” Muria, by riding on the gentle wind, carried seven holy warriors near death and three infants peacefully sleeping under a spell, flying briskly towards the Patrick Fortress.

Muria, wrapped himself and these ten humans in a cyclone of Thunderfire, dispelling any ghosts lured by the aura of life he carried…

As he came out of the Undead Gray Mist, Muria scattered the Thunderfire around him. He saw the shimmering protective barrier dissipating and put away the Prison Suppression Halberd he held. If the fortress hadn’t opened the passage, he planned to smash it open with his Exclusive Weapon.

He believed the current defensive power of the fortress could briefly resist attack from a Legend, but he did not believe that a weapon forged from a variety of Legendary Metals, under the expense of such a large cost, wouldn’t be able to open a gap within a protective barrier of such a massive range.

Muria spotted Kaslana and the burly general next to her standing on the city wall, but he did not pause. Riding the Furious Wind, he charged directly into the temple district within the Patrick Fortress with the holy knights and children.

“Muria!” Kaslana called out as she saw Muria, who had dispelled all his Thunderfire, and the ten human figures clearly visible around him. Then she transformed into a Rainbow and pursued them.

“General, it seems the Golden Dragon brought out holy warriors who left our fortress quite a while ago.”

“I’m not blind; I don’t need you to tell me.” The burly general glanced at his deputy, “The more important ones are those three children. Heh heh, look at how many people the holy warriors sacrificed to save them.”

… Muria landed in the central square of the temple district with the holy knights and three children, surrounded by the gaze of dozens of assembled Holy Knights.

“Where’s the Red-clothed Grand Archbishop? Hurry up and save these people.” Muria shouted even before he landed.

Before his voice had fallen, eight red-robed archbishops slowly appeared and looked at Muria briefly before turning their attentions to the holy knights suspended mid-air by the wind.

“What’s this? Such a strong life force, which healing potion was used?” One Red-clothed Grand Archbishop exclaimed before even touching the holy knights.

“You don’t need to worry about their physical injuries. I’ve given each of them a few drops of essence from the Tree of Life.” Muria raised his eyebrows and spoke as he saw the Red-clothed Grand Archbishops start examining the holy knights. “You only need to check whether their souls are fine.”

“Essence of the Tree of Life!” The Red-clothed Grand Archbishops exchanged glances and looked at Muria with amazement before each started to administer Divine Arts on the holy knights, examining their souls.

“Uh!” The eighth Red-clothed Grand Archbishop rubbed his nose a bit awkwardly, then looked at Muria. A grateful smile appeared on his face, as he slightly bowed to Muria:

“Thank you for your generosity!”

“It’s the least I could do.” Muria responded calmly, nodding. Seeing these dying holy warriors, he naturally would not stingily withhold the essence of his Tree of Life.

“These children?” The Red-clothed Grand Archbishop slightly turned his gaze and looked at the three sleeping children floating beside Muria. A hint of surprise and uncertainty flashed across his face.

“They were saved by their squad of holy warriors.” Muria gestured towards the seven holy warriors who were receiving treatment.

“What about the other members of their squad?” The Red-clothed Grand Archbishop’s hand trembled slightly, drawing the attention of the other seven Grand Archbishops, who were performing Divine Art, to Muria.

“Right here!” Muria brought out, one after another, bodies donned in battered armor from his space ring. When they started, it was complete bodies, then incomplete fragments of bodies, and finally some bone fragments.

“There’s more!” The Grand Archbishop looked at Muria, his voice trembling and face revealing uncontainable sorrow. The bodies that Muria had taken out were less than a hundred.

The assembled holy warriors also silently walked over to join the gathering, looking at the maimed bodies on the ground, some barely recognizable as human.

“That’s all!” Muria shook his head, “Only seven holy warriors from their squad survived.”

“This…” The Red-clothed Grand Archbishop’s face twitched, he hesitantly walked over to Muria, picked up a child, and managed to squeeze out a stiff smile, “Three hundred holy warriors sacrificed everything to save these children.”

Two representatives, whose faces could not be seen due to being covered by the divine radiance of the Divine Art, came out from the silently watching holy warriors. They picked up two of the infants floating beside Muria, examined them closely and then handed them to another holy warrior.

“Take a look, these are the children that our holy warriors saved!”

“Haha, what a cute little fellow, I also want to go into the Bavaria Kingdom and save a few children like this.”

…The two children, who had been embraced by the holy warriors in turns, drowsily opened their eyes. Because they could not see their parents, they began to feel panic and confusion.

But soon these emotions were soothed by the divine radiance from the holy warriors. Soon these two children started giggling in the arms of the holy warriors who were taking turns to embrace them.

“These two children, they will certainly become holy warriors.” Kaslana, who had silently arrived at Muria’s side, observed the harmonious scene at the central square and said so.

“So will this child become a Coffin Grand Archbishop in future?” Muria pointed at the child held by the Red-clothed Grand Archbishop and jokingly asked.

“I am honored by your words and I will strive to train him to become a Coffin Grand Archbishop.” Hearing Muria’s half-joking words, the Red-clothed Grand Archbishop responded seriously.
