King of Titans and Dragons
Chapter 261 - 261 256 Taking Action

Chapter 261: Chapter 256: Taking Action Chapter 261: Chapter 256: Taking Action When the number of holy warriors on the central square reached three hundred, the trumpet for departure was blown. With the sound of the horn, the red-clothed grand archbishops from all the great temples appeared silently and bestowed upon them the highest level of divine art.

The holy warriors set off.

Muria saw the scene once again. Those adventurers who came for profit consciously made way, looking at the holy warriors heading towards the fortress with complicated expressions of admiration, worship, guilt, confusion, or perhaps sarcasm.

The magnificent music sounded once more. The minstrels played again to send off the holy knights. This time, however, there seemed to be a highly prestigious person among the minstrels, who organized most of the minstrels in the fortress.

Therefore, this farewell music was more organized and inspiring than the last time. Someone seemed to be doing everything they could for the holy warriors.

Muria, who had previously been following the holy warriors’ departure, was observing this group of adventurers in the fortress city more carefully this time. Knights, druids, mages, archers, thieves, warriors… there were all sorts of professions, and their expressions and attitudes towards the holy warriors were also different.

Humans are complex creatures, even these profit-driven adventurers can’t be generalized.

“Boom!” The fortress gate was once again opened for these three hundred holy warriors, allowing them to pass. As the group of holy warriors prepared to pass through the city gate, the lead holy warrior’s gaze hardened, looking towards the undead fog wall less than a kilometer away.

“Hmm!” Muria, tailing the holy warriors, also sensed something. She raised her head, looking towards the undead grey mist outside the city, past these radiant warriors.

The undead in the grey mist were aimlessly wandering around, only reacting when they sensed the presence of living creatures.

That is to say, once the holy warriors entered the undead grey mist, they would withstand a nearly endless onslaught of undead.

However, these undead that should have attacked the holy warriors soon, began to riot ahead of time. They collectively rushed deep into the mist as if there was something there attracting them.

“All holy warriors, charge, to meet our comrades.” After seeing the movement of these low-level undead, the lead holy warrior didn’t hesitate for a moment. He drew the long sword from his waist and issued the first command.

The only thing that could attract the undead was the living.

Without any hesitation, all the holy warriors began to drive their horned horses as soon as they heard the command, charging. The distance of a kilometer was enough for them to build up speed.

While the kingdom’s army on the fortress wall was still stunned, the holy warriors had already built up speed and rushed directly into the undead mist barrier.

Just like a piece of bloody meat dropped in the sea, the scent of over three hundred vibrant living beings in the holy warrior team that had rushed into the territory of Bavaria Kingdom spread (the elderly holy warriors had already restored their bodies to their peak state without considering the consequences), instantly attracting the undead rushing towards the mist, which pounced like sharks smelling blood.

As for these swarming vengeful spirits, ghosts, skeletons, and ghouls, none of the holy warriors paid them any attention, allowing them to pounce on them under the temptation of the scent of living beings.

“Szz!” “Szz!”…. As the undead pounced on the holy warriors, before they even touched their bodies, they screamed and turned into ashes under the thick divine light that enveloped them.

The Red-clothed Grand Archbishop and many high-ranking Priests applied so many Divine Arts to the holy warriors, not just for amusement. Ordinary low and mid-level Undead didn’t even have the privilege of getting close now.

But these low-level Undead were the majority in the Bavaria Kingdom, almost everywhere. Consistent assaults would eventually drain the Divine Light from the Holy Warriors.

“Don’t stop, keep pushing forward, locate the source that caused the anomaly in the Undead.” The command of the Holy Warrior leader reverberated throughout the ranks.

“Yes!”

In just a few minutes, this squad of Holy Warriors saw the reason for the Undead’s unrest — about ten wounded Holy Warriors and three babies they held.

Countless mid-to-high-level Undead surrounded them, enclosed further by an endless sea of skeletons.

“Kill!” Without further commands, the Holy Warrior commander at the level of Golden Peak led the charge into the sea of Undead upon seeing the twenty plus disfigured Holy Warrior corpses within the Undead’s circle.

Soon, the three hundred Holy Warriors with abundant energy and enveloped in Dense Divine Light broke the Undead’s siege, rushing to protect the ten plus Holy Warriors about to exhaust their energies. Their Divine Light was thoroughly depleted.

“Break through with them!” The commanding Holy Warrior glanced at his comrades, only knowing how miserable their condition was upon closer inspection.

Missing arms and legs were minor injuries for them. More than half were emaciated, their faces withered, hardly different from the skeletons surrounding them except for a layer of skin.

Their lives were almost completely burnt out, barely maintaining consciousness with their willpower alone. Upon seeing the radiant squad of Holy Warrior comrades, these exhausted Holy Warriors slumped from their mounts, and life fled their bodies.

“Break through? Hehe, naive humans.” A scoffing Soul Sound reverberated in each Holy Warrior’s ears, “What do you think this place is?”

“Lich!” The Holy Warrior commander looked up, at the massive skeleton in a black robe, holding a bone sickle.

“This is the Realm of the Dead, all creatures must perish.” Before the Holy Warriors could respond, another Lich emerged from mid-air.

“Kill them all. These Holy Warriors are the best materials for crafting Dark Knights.” A third Lich materialized.

The Holy Warrior commander watched the Liches in the sky with a pale expression. Three at the Soul Intent Level, absolutely beyond their capacity to resist. Finally, he understood the predicament of the squad, why only a handful of Holy Warriors remained.

“Realm of the Dead? Heh!” A scoff emerged, a thundering sound burst forth, and three weapons enwreathed in Golden Thunder and Dragon Flames charged forth from the Grey Fog, overwhelming the three Soul Intent Level Liches. After crushing their futile defenses, the weapons shattered their lich bodies and Soul Fires into pieces.

“Forgot, should have been gentler, not supposed to shatter their Soul Fires, should have sealed them.” Amid the stunned gaze of all the Holy Warriors below, a black-haired youth with golden pupils appeared in mid-air. The three weapons that smashed the Liches voluntarily flew into the air, circling around him.
