King of Titans and Dragons -
Chapter 249 - 249 244 Damo Sword
Chapter 249: Chapter 244: Damo Sword Chapter 249: Chapter 244: Damo Sword Since the flesh of the undead dragons had been stripped away in life, leaving nothing but an empty skeleton frame, the powerful strength of the Dragon Race could not be manifested in the undead dragons.
The Soul Fire of the Bone Dragons was formed by sacrificing an advanced undead, and is not the original dragon soul. Essentially, Bone Dragons are just a special type of skeleton.
And for the Ghost Dragons, their Soul Fire was transformed from the dragon soul, but for ease of control, almost all memories of the Ghost Dragons’ previous lives were erased. In other words, Ghost Dragons lost the inheritance of the Dragon Race.
So, during battle, Bone Dragons rely on their Hardened Dragon Bones infected with Death Qi, while Ghost Dragons retain some of their instinctive close-combat abilities from their previous life, in addition to some abilities common to undead creatures.
Therefore, to the Dragon Race, Undead Dragons are not even considered dragons, as their combat skills have fallen too drastically. If they were facing a similar Rank Dragon, even a White Dragon could easily dismantle a Bone Dragon.
Just this point alone, it is no wonder that the existence of Undead Dragons is regarded as tarnishing the reputation and soul of the Dragon Race.
…
At an altitude of ten thousand meters, lies the Legendary Battlefield where the Death Dragon rider, Bertlein, with his ten legendary undead dragons, is desperately trying to resist the siege of nineteen Ancient Dragons in anticipation of the reinforcements from the council legends.
Beneath them, hundreds of giant dragons are battling the undead legion, which despite suffering heavy losses in the first round, still maintains large numbers.
At a glance, any Giant Dragon could easily face three to five Bone Dragons alone. However, Bertlein released as many as sixteen hundred Bone Dragons and Ghost Dragons, he had brought out all the remaining forces of his House. Among Bertlein’s undead legions, although Undead Dragons are the main force, there are also countless other types of undead creatures.
As a result, these young Giants Dragons are struggling greatly. Each is being besieged, with only a few dragons having the spare capacity to help others. It so happens that Muria is one of the few able to rescue other Giant Dragons.
“They are no match for the demons in the Abyss Training Ground.” Muria, wielding the Seven Sins Blade and the Sword of Demon Purge, softly murmured. He had just burst through the undead legion in a charge, no undead could withstand a swing of his sword.
“It’s no fun at all. Apart from numbers, there’s nothing worth mentioning.” Muria’s disappointment was not hidden as it showed in his eyes, but no dragon could see it.
In the eyes of many young Giant Dragons, all they could see was a powerful Golden Dragon who didn’t even need to recover his true form, yet he effortlessly broke through the Undead Legion. This greatly uplifting to many dragons.
More so, many Soul-meaning Dragons flapped their wings, leading the charge into the undead legion, trying to emulate Muria’s breakthrough, to win the reverence of other giant dragons.
However, these dragons only realized after they rushed in that although Undead Dragons have lost most of their combat power from their living days and could be easily sent flying by a charge, the bones of the Undead Dragons are not as fragile as they seemed, they are far sturdier than expected, not something that could be easily shattered.
“A bunch of idiots! Just because they saw Prince Muria break through the undead legion, they want to follow suit. They should see what Prince Muria has in his hand and what they have in their own!”
A golden dragon could not help but mock when he saw a few dragons trying to make a name for themselves by rushing into the undead legion, only to be quickly surrounded by a dozen or even twenty undead dragons, making it difficult even to move.
“For us, the only characteristic of the Bone Dragons is their sturdy skeletons. Without an appropriate weapon, no matter our own strength, it could be difficult to shatter them.” A Silver Dragon nodded its agreement, supporting the Golden Dragon’s point of view, “They are indeed too reckless!”
“Muria, could you aid our comrades?” As Muria looked up towards the legendary battlefield, eager to take part in the conflict, a soft voice reached his ears.
“Ah, got it.” After a sweep of his gaze, Muria quickly found those four careless dragons that had strayed from their team. It wasn’t hard to spot them, they were visibly surrounded by more than ten Bone Dragons, already in irregularly-shaped encirclements.
“Roar!” An angry roar echoed from one of the trapped dragons, an adult Green Bronze Dragon with a thin layer of moisture on its scales. Its muscular body highlighted its immense strength.
Indeed, every attack it launched, be it with its tail, claws, or wings, could easily repel the Bone Dragons surrounding it. But, it was pointless.
Although the Bone Dragons couldn’t match his strength, their sturdy bodies easily absorbed his attacks. It was like fighting a rubber ball; you can’t kill it and you can’t shake it off, which was particularly irksome.
After a few rounds of battle with the Bone Dragons, the Bronze Dragon regretted his actions. But it was too late to retreat. The Bone Dragons had him surrounded.
However, although Bone Dragons may not be as magnificent as True Dragons, they still possess dragon bones. Their claws can tear through dragon scales and rip away dragon flesh.
Therefore, when Muria’s gaze settled on the roiling Green Bronze Dragon, blood was dripping from its grievous wounds, appearing particularly pitiful. One of its wings had almost been torn off by a Bone Dragon, causing such intense pain that it roared out loud.
A dragon’s pride is absolutely among the strongest in all of Ionia. Hence, some dragons would rather face mortal danger than ask for help.
Seeing this, Muria didn’t hesitate and threw his Damo Sword towards the Green Bronze Dragon, not caring about how many undead dragons were between them.
Because there’s no need. The Sword of Demon Purge gave out a hum, expressing slight dissatisfaction. The blade then turned into a streak of sword light which darted forward, reducing any undead in its path to pieces.
“Pop!” “Pop!”… Bone Dragons were pierced through by the streaking sword light. The lucky ones only lost a claw or had their tail cut off, the less fortunate ones had their spines broken and lost half of their bodies.
The least fortunate Bone Dragon had its skull shattered, extinguishing the Soul Fire, which had been formed through the sacrifice of a higher undead.
The arc of the sword passed through the sky and reached the Bronze Dragon who was showered in blood. The sword emitted a brilliant light, forming a barrier of light that instantly shattered three Bone Dragons on one side of the Bronze Dragon. This created an escape route for the Bronze Dragon.
However,
“This sword…” The Bronze Dragon’s eyes were fixed onto the Sword of Demon Purge. Due to the legendary metal mixed into the sword’s creation, it had a difficult time recognizing the exact materials used. But its dragon instincts told it that this sword was invaluable and powerful.
Thus, the Bronze Dragon didn’t retreat. Instead, it reached out with its claws towards the Damo Sword…
