King of Titans and Dragons -
Chapter 245 - 245 240 A Line of Succession
Chapter 245: Chapter 240: A Line of Succession Chapter 245: Chapter 240: A Line of Succession “So you just betray your captain that easily, aren’t you worried he’ll kill you?” Floating above the deck of the Gizmo Glitch, Muria glanced at Anlo, the undead deputy commanding the other undead crew. He was the only legendary creature in this fleet.
As for the captain, Muria just met him, he was just a soul-intent level ghost wearing a captain’s hat. Obviously, the real controller of this fleet is the deputy.
Muria nearly understood why the ghost Captain Barbosa would let a legendary creature under his command obey a soul-intent level ghost, even if only in name.
“Don’t worry, my captain is broad-minded and would not punish me for this,” said the deputy Anlo, who looked like a large crystal skeleton, “Besides, it’s not my first time doing this!”
Muria cornered his mouth and looked at the Golden Dragon Sister next to him and asked: “How many times have you betrayed your captain?”
“Who can remember such things!” Deputy Anlo slapped his head; the skull engulfed by a blue soul fire looked at Muria:
“No, Golden Dragon kid, don’t say nonsense, I’ve never betrayed the captain.
I am following Captain Barbosa’s orders, if I encounter an enemy who can’t be dealt with alone, I’ll lead them to him and let him handle it.”
“Huh, Captain Barbosa is really responsible!” Muria looked at the darkness around him and joked with Deputy Anlo: “I just wonder what the captain’s reaction will be when he sees you leading a group of ancient dragons to him?”
“Of course he would be happy.” Anlo, who just realized his slip of the tongue, noticed the gazes from the ancient dragons who had just boarded his ship. His soul fire flickered, and he hurriedly said.
After it voluntarily offered to lead the ancient dragons to Captain Barbosa, they all boarded his flagship and let him guide the way. Muria and Kaslana also went up.
Nineteen ancient dragons gathered together have no fear of a hard fight against all the legendary undead in this area launched by the Undead Council, naturally, they would not fear any tricks Anlo would play.
Only strength matters.
…
“I’ve heard that Barbosa of the Undead Council has an obsessive collection of ghost ships and has traversed every sea in Elasia, just to collect ghost ships naturally formed from sunken ships. Now it seems that I still underestimated him.”
“I didn’t expect that he isn’t satisfied with collecting naturally formed ghost ships anymore and started to try mass production of ghost ships.”
“It seems that he has achieved some results.”
“It’s normal to have results; after all, more than 70% of the ghost ships in Elasia are in his hands. With such a long time, as long as there are ideas, something can always be researched.”
…
Listening to the astonished and admiring discussions of the many ancient dragons next to him, Muria walked to the edge of the deck of the ironclad warship, looking at the almost endless fleet of steel.
This is the Undead fleet led by Barbosa himself as Anlo said. Unlike the miscellaneous fleet composed of hundreds of completely different ghost ships led by Anlo.
The fleet in front had many ghost ships of the same model, with almost ten different types.
The difference between the two ghost fleets was as stark as that between a ragtag and a regular army.
“Standard ghost ships!” Muria murmured to herself. This indicated that Barbossa had gained the technology to mass-produce ghost ships. This was shocking because before, every ghost ship was one of a kind, formed through various coincidences. But now, the formation of ghost ships no longer required such coincidences.
“This is the real undead fleet. What do you think? Impressive, isn’t it? Are you scared?” Just then, Barlona’s soul sound, filled with undisguised pride, entered each dragon’s ears, bringing Muria out of her contemplation.
“Fair enough!” Looking at the fleet arranged in a certain formation before her, Muria nodded calmly. She had already seen the Mechanism Emperor’s Sky Mechanical City; this was just a small show.
But, this well-organized fleet made Muria understand that this Great Lich of ten thousand years was not simply interested in ghost ships. Maybe at first, he collected them out of interest, but not anymore.
From this ghost fleet, Muria saw Barbossa’s blatant ambition: He wanted to stand shoulder to shoulder with the deities.
Because, there’s only one type of legend who would amass legion-level battle forces – a legend aiming to achieve an epic.
“Er, Golden Dragon kid, have you ever seen a stronger fleet than Barbossa’s?” Anlo was somewhat dissatisfied upon hearing Muria’s evaluation.
“Yes.” Muria recalled the steel torrent of various battleships connected to twenty spatial vortexes on the Mechanism Emperor’s mechanical continent. The fleet in front of them was like glowworm before the bright moon, utterly incomparable.
“Heh, there are plenty of fleets stronger! For example, the Osman Empire’s third plane colonial expedition fleet. If your undead fleet collided with them, you would absolutely be crushed to pieces.” The Golden Dragon Sister also voiced her opinion.
“That’s not the same at all! This fleet was independently built by Captain Barbossa, completely under his control. And that colonial expedition fleet you mentioned was built by the Human Empire. Besides, such a fleet is obviously not going to obey one person’s command.”
Just as Anlo and the Golden Dragon sister were arguing, a roar of anger came from a huge steel fortress guarded by many standard ghost ships which was five thousand meters long and looked like a moving mountain range.
“Anlo, what kind of trouble have you brought me this time?”
With this furious roar, the space next to Muria, where Anlo stood, ripped open, and a skeleton—or rather a lich, wearing a luxurious captain’s outfit and holding a sword, stepped out.
“Indeed, just like the legends, Barbossa learned magic to transform himself into a lich, but he still sees himself as a warrior.” After the appearance of this Great Lich, the Golden Dragon Sister Kaslana connected with Muria via mental power and quietly scoffed, “You see, he doesn’t even carry a magic staff.”
“Captain.” Seeing the angry Captain, Anlo approached him and bowing servilely, “It’s just a group of Ancient Dragons, not here to cause you trouble.”
“Ancient Dragons!” The legendary large lich Barbossa, wearing a tri-cornered hat and various decorative trinkets larger than actual extraordinary items, turned his head and “looked” at the nineteen Ancient Dragons who stood together, still discussing him and his fleet.
“You’re here to find trouble with Berlaint, aren’t you!”
“Indeed!” An Ancient Dragon readily admitted, “We came to ask you about Bertlein’s location. If you’re unwilling…”
“I can tell you where Bertlein is, but, you must not interfere with the actions of our Undead Council.” The Great Lich interrupted the Ancient Dragon before he could finish his sentence, “If you agree, I’ll tell you where he is.”
“Truly worthy of being Anlo’s Captain.” Seeing Barbossa not hesitating to sell out his organization’s member, Muria couldn’t help but quietly sigh, “Indeed, like father like son.”
