Chapter 199 - 199 194 Indestructible Mount

Chapter 199: Chapter 194: Indestructible Mount Chapter 199: Chapter 194: Indestructible Mount “The era of demon-hunting knights is over,” a member of the Blood Clan sneered, “See? Even when hunting demons, your human race demon-hunting knights only dare to skulk around after nightfall. After completing their duty, they don’t dare linger and flee the scene immediately.

Thousands of years ago, when demon-hunting knights killed our ancestors, they paraded the corpses throughout the city, proclaiming their martial prowess and battle accomplishments to all humans. They certainly didn’t keep as low a profile as now.”

“Times have changed.”

“The glory of the demon-hunting knights has faded, and it’s your human race that hastened its end.”

“Really, your human race is laughable!”

The ones battling the six Gold Rank holy knights are eight members of the Dark Races – exactly four from the Blood Clan and four werewolves. At this moment, they’re taunting one another, engaging in a war of words. During the battle, language is also a very effective mode of attack.

The six holy knights and eight Gold Rank Dark Creatures are trading blows. Buildings of villas and manors with roofs overturned underneath them have been laid to ruin in the blink of an eye by the aftermath of their clash.

What’s supporting these six brave holy knights are the many priests behind them.

The Gold Rank priests, one or even two per holy knight, are casting divine arts like money is no object. They not only bless the holy knights with strengthening divine arts, but intermittently cast offensive divine arts to interfere with the Blood Clan and werewolves’ attack, all while occasionally healing the holy knights.

This kind of combat leaves the eight werewolves and Blood Clan members deeply frustrated. Among them, the four notoriously ferocious werewolves are growling continuously. One has even entered a state of frenzy, its original bulky werewolf body expanding a size, becoming even more ferocious-looking.

“Being so reckless, aren’t you afraid of luring the demon-hunting knight here?” a holy knight who just impaled a Gold Rank werewolf asked.

“I’d be overjoyed if I could draw them out! Why would I be afraid?” The werewolf who had just been impaled didn’t care. Because with its Gold Rank physique coupled with the enhancements of his race’s bloodline, the wound is visibly healing. The real annoyance was the holy light power attached to the wound.

“Idiot!” Unable to contain himself, a vampire dressed in a suit-like battle robe, having shed his grey robe, muttered under his breath. The Werewolf’s words has basically revealed their purpose.

“You’re bait!” Upon hearing the werewolf’s words and seeing the Blood Clan’s reaction, a priest suddenly frowned, his heart growing colder. If they could dispatch eight Gold Rank Dark Races to willingly be bait, there would only be higher ranked beings in their respective clans.

Marquis level Blood Clan and upper-ranking werewolves!

If such entities were to really appear in Valiant, even the Red-clothed Grand Archbishop residing in the temple could only barely contend with them with the help of the temple’s divine array. Afterward, he would need to call for reinforcements from temples throughout Baiye Kingdom and gather a group of Red-clothed Grand Archbishops to expel them.

The demon-hunting knight that showed up in this city only seemed to have Gold Rank strength. He was far from having reached the average strength of Soul Intent Peak which knights of the demon-hunting era possessed – the standard to suppress a region.

The marquis Mendoza, who he killed, only barely scraped into the level of Soul Intent by depending on crooked methods due to his degeneration into a demon beast; the value was too low. If it truly was a Marquis level Blood Clan and upper-ranking werewolves, then, this demon-hunting knight… doesn’t seem to be in much danger. The Dawn Church had already requested a Golden Dragon to preside over this area.

“So what if it’s revealed?” Hearing the Blood Clan member’s scolding, the werewolf looked back. He didn’t care about the knight’s sword lodged in his stomach, baring his snow-white fangs at him.

“Do you think a demon-hunting knight is a sissy like you?” The werewolf who was called an idiot looked at the Blood Clan member who berated him with undisguised disgust and scorn. He was far too slender and had a face so pretty it could make women jealous.

“Ignorant black-haired mutt!” Upon hearing the werewolf’s belittling words, this androgynous looking vampire’s eyes burst into a blood-thirsty red glow. The long sword in their hand, seemingly more decorative than practical, shifted as if intending to strike the werewolf.

Meanwhile, the werewolves who heard the offensive term “mutt” all fixed their gazes upon the vampire, baring their teeth and snarling, their undisguised intentions to kill in plain sight.

Seeing that a fight was about to break out between the vampire and the werewolves, the six knights they were in close combat with swiftly and harmoniously retreated, leaving the two volatile members of the dark races to face off against each other.

“Neigh!” Just then, the sound of a battle horse’s neigh echoed throughout the city, now completely shrouded in darkness.

“That sound!” Upon hearing the horse’s cry, the six knights and a dozen priests all revealed complex expressions of surprise and anxiety. They had heard this sound before, just last night, above the Marquis’s Castle.

“Clip, clop, clip, clop…” The sound of hooves striking the ground rang out. Then, behind one of the vampires, space tore apart, and a knight clad in crimson golden armor, riding an equally golden-armoured steel warhorse, charged out surrounded by a halo of fiery red flames.

Appearing in the night sky and swinging in his hands was a greatsword ablaze with golden flames. A scorching hot sword beam flew out, simultaneously striking towards the four vampires in front of him.

“Screech! Screech! Screech!” The moment they heard the sound of horse hooves, the four vampires did not hesitate to transform into four clouds of blood mist. They had no intention of testing if the Demon Hunter Knight was as terrifying as the legends suggested.

The vestiges of the Soul Intent level demon beast that had been torn apart on the ruins of Marquis Mendoza’s castle had already revealed everything.

Thus, the instant the Demon Hunter Knight appeared and swung his sword, the four vampires immediately used their bat transformation skill, turning into blood mist, coalescing into bats then scattering to escape, aimlessly trying to evade the knight’s sudden sword thrust.

“Demon Hunter Knight! Roar!” Upon seeing the Demon Hunter Knight, astride his golden warhorse suddenly appear, the frenzied werewolf among the four let out an excited howl, then charged towards the knight on his horse, “I’ll tear you apart.”

“Screech…” Under the sudden appearance of Demon Hunter Knight’s swinging sword, the four released vampire-bats dispersed everywhere. Just under half of them were swept away by the sword beam, transforming into blood mist, then being burned to nothing by the heated sword beam.

After the sword beam eradicated about half of the swarm of bats, it fell with no decrease in momentum onto the already dilapidated manor, leaving behind a trail of fire on the uneven ground, marked by the fiery greatsword.

The swarm of bats “screeched,” then landed not too far away, transforming back into four somewhat bedraggled vampire figures. Their previous elegance was nowhere to be found. Their torn clothes and pale faces made them appear quite wretched.

“He really dares to appear.”

“We can notify Marquis Andrei to take action now.”

“Wait, didn’t you notice the way he just appeared?”

“He used a Space-Travel ability.”

“He hasn’t ascended to a legend yet, and he isn’t a mage, so where did he get this ability?”

“It’s the ability of his mount. I’ve read about this in ancient records. Every Demon Hunter Knight possesses an eternal, invulnerable mount. The Warhorse that he’s riding may have existed since the ancient Demon-Hunting Era. I’ve seen its depiction in records.”
