Chapter 181 - 181 176 Thug
Chapter 181: Chapter 176: Thug Chapter 181: Chapter 176: Thug “He actually brought out the High Priest!”
“How dare he?”
“Is he aiming for a life and death clash with The Dawn Church?”
…The moment they saw Muria’s move, the onlooking crowd exploded in shock. Nobody expected this powerful young man, riding a Giant Wolf, to actually bring out the High Priest from the Red Leaf City Dawn Temple.
They all knew that their city’s Dawn Temple didn’t have an Archbishop, so the highest-ranking official here was the High Priest. And now, this unknown powerful figure had brought out the temple’s highest administrator.
Moreover, looking at the stiff and immobile figure of the High Priest, it was clear he had been hit with something similar to an immobilization spell.
Such audacity, treating the highest-ranking official of the temple in such a way!
“Sir!” Solon, the young boy, upon seeing the High Priest suspended behind Muria, bound by a chain, couldn’t help but wear an expression of utter shock on his face, “You…”
“What?” Muria turned around looking at the infuriated High Priest stuck behind him and asked, unfazed, “Can’t this guy cure your sister?”
“He… he can.” The young boy stuttered. He never dreamed the youth willing to help him would be so wild. “The High Priest can indeed cure my sister.”
“See, I knew it,” said Muria, nodding. “I picked the most powerful priest in the temple.”
Then, Muria walked to the girl’s side, yanked the chain, and pulled the High Priest over to him. After that, he released the Star Cloud Chain binding him.
“Demon!” The moment the High Priest’s binds were released, he roared in rage. A divine spirit light originated from his palm, condensing into a Warhammer. He then swung it at Muria’s head, “Die!”
Four-ring Divine Art, Sacred Hammer Blow!
Upon recognizing the type of attack the High Priest was using, Muria didn’t even blink. He couldn’t be bothered even to pretend to defend himself.
So, “Bang!” the Holy Light Hammer slammed onto Muria’s head, but the hammer exploded into bits at the point of contact and scattered into specks of white light.
Seeing this, the High Priest was dumbfounded. He looked at the unharmed Muria in disbelief, “How could it possibly be ineffective?”
“Why couldn’t it be?” Muria asked back, raising his eyebrows.
“It’s not supposed to be…” murmured the High Priest, looking flabbergasted. Sacred Hammer Blow is a divine art attack targeted towards the Evil Camp, and only people of Good Camp should be completely immune to it.
But, how could a person who brazenly attacked the Dawn Temple, brought out the High Priest against all norms, exhausted all possible means, and was completely unreasonable be from the Good Camp? He should belong to the Great Sinners, right?
“You’ve practiced your divine art quite well.” Muria didn’t take the attack personally, given that his way of “inviting” the High Priest was somewhat brutish.
On the contrary, Muria now thought that this priest actually had some skills. The power of a priest comes from the Deity and is not self-cultivated.
Therefore, ordinary priests often find it hard to perfectly control the power they have gained. As a result, an average priest’s Sacred Hammer Blow would just be an ordinary Holy Light Blast. This priest, however, managed to condense the light into a hammmer, which proved that he indeed has some level of skill.
“Good?” Hearing the praise from the handsome youth, the High Priest’s face soured. To him, the praise felt more like an insult, a mockery of his lackluster skills in divine art.
“Okay, would you please heal this poor girl?” Muria pointed at the girl lying on the ground.
“I refuse!” As soon as Muria made the request, the High Priest instantly rejected it without a thought. “I will not serve the wicked.”
“Does the outcome of your attack on me just now mean anything to you? Do you need me to teach you what it means?” Muria said, looking at the old man before him, who took pride in his neat and tidy appearance.
“That was a mistake in my divine art practice. I’ll repent to the great Dawn Deity and pray for forgiveness.”
“…” Muria looked speechless at the High Priest, who persisted in categorizing him as evil and even began to doubt himself. He pulled a grimace. If he had known this, he wouldn’t have resorted to violence.
“Look at your feet. Are you willing to watch a poor girl suffer the torture of a curse?” Muria pointed at the unconscious girl lying on the ground.
The High Priest, who had been keeping an eye on Muria all this time, followed his finger in confusion and finally noticed the girl lying on the ground with a rotten face.
“This…” Seeing the girl in such a condition, the middle-aged man with a dignified face and elegant clothes showed a hint of pity. He squatted down, unbothered by the stench from the girl’s rotting patches, and began to examine her condition.
“How is it?” Seeing the attitude of the High Priest, Muria rubbed his nose, seeming a bit embarrassed. “Can you cure her?”
“Yes, but it’s been too long, her vital energy has been exhausted too much,” the High Priest said with some gravity. He then glared at Muria and reproached him, “Why didn’t you bring her here earlier?”
“…” Muria’s eyes slightly narrowed upon hearing the reprimand, “What difference would it have made if I had brought her here earlier? Her brother couldn’t even get past the gate of your temple.”
“What did you say?”
“There!” Muria pointed at Solon, who was standing by with a face full of hope. “That’s his sister. He just knelt at the gate until his forehead bled, but your guards didn’t let him in. They not only didn’t let him in but also broke his hand.”
The High Priest looked at the ragged Solon with blood seeping from his forehead, his bleeding palm and then at the four temple guards lying nearby, spitting blood. His face twitched a couple times, he had a vague idea of what just happened and why he was dragged out of the temple.
“All this, just because of that, you attacked the temple?”
“Yeah!” Muria nodded indifferently, “Do I need any more reason?”
“You could have been more gentle.” The High Priest looked up at Muria and spoke in a tone of utter helplessness. Meanwhile, he threw a few healing spells at Solon.
“Sorry, I’m just used to it,” Muria chuckled. “Decades ago, a fellow taught me that, if a problem can be solved with a fist, don’t use your mouth.”
“Thug.” The High Priest muttered under his breath upon hearing Muria’s reply. Then the divine spirit light in his hands brightened, and he focused on the girl, now knowing how to treat her.
Under Muria’s surprised gaze, a grey fog visible to the naked eye began to rise from the girl’s body. As the fog rose, the rotting patches on the girl’s face began to slowly heal…
