King of Titans and Dragons
Chapter 176 - 176 171 Baiye Kingdom

Chapter 176: Chapter 171: Baiye Kingdom Chapter 176: Chapter 171: Baiye Kingdom “This map is totally useless!” Muria, riding on a giant wolf, held a blank scroll in his hand, before casually tossing it into his storage ring, without showing much disappointment.

After all, this map was obtained by Muria in exchange for a piece of high-grade Extraordinary Metal. Before giving it to him, the count had clarified that it was a commercial map drawn up by his business.

As long as this map accurately marked the positions and territorial boundaries of the various countries on the Ionian Subcontinent, Muria was satisfied.

Now, having left Norton Kingdom and entered Baiye Duchy, he quickly checked the map to find that for Baiye Duchy, there were just some irregular patterns on the map indicating its size, with several city locations and annotations.

Muria guessed that these were some of the more well-known cities in the Baiye Duchy, hence they were marked on the map. As for markers of other cities or important main roads, they were all absent, completely blank.

“A bit of a loss,” Muria muttered, looking up towards a city surrounded by a black wall not far away, “I don’t even know which city in the Baiye Duchy this is. But it doesn’t matter, I’ll just find another map once I get into the city.”

“Hm!” Muria, who was riding a giant wolf and stopping on the road into the city, scanned his surroundings, coughed lightly, and patted the back of the giant wolf’s neck, “Let’s go, into the city. Don’t block the road.”

During the time Muria checked the map and looked at the city, a crowd had gathered in front of and behind him.

Because Muria was just so blatantly blocking the road with his giant wolf, all the city’s incoming and outgoing merchant corps and adventure groups consciously detoured, leaving a large area empty around him.

No one dared to get too close to him, or step up to complain that he was blocking the road and causing traffic obstruction. Resentment was harbored by all the merchant corps and pedestrians, but they could only repress it, not daring to raise any complaint.

Only after Muria gradually walked away.

“Phew, he’s finally gone,” a small merchant who was blocked by Muria for a while sighed, “How rare, a strong being with a silver mount has appeared in a small place like Red Leaf City.”

“Damn it, just because he has a savage giant wolf, does he really need to be so arrogant?” a similarly blocked adventurer cursed in a low voice, a tinge of jealousy slipping through his words.

“You can curse a bit louder while you’re at it,” a merchant next to him teased.

“It’s just that he’s being too arrogant, so I complained a bit!” the adventurer shrank his neck and looked in the direction where Muria had gone, fear evident in his eyes.

“If you have a Silver-class mount, you could be just as arrogant,” The merchant on the lizard carriage smiled, harboring not even a hint of resentment for the roadblock causing a delay.

The strong naturally have privileges!

“Sigh, I specifically picked the weakest and smallest wolf from amongst the wolf pack to serve as a temporary mount, and I didn’t expect it to be so eye-catching.”

Muria, riding on the giant wolf on the road into the city, noticed the awed glances from the pedestrians and merchant corps passing by him, a trace of helplessness on his face. He had already tried very hard to be as low-key as possible, but he didn’t expect to still draw so much attention.

Among the adventurers walking on the road, many also had mounts, but they were usually common creatures like horned horses. Of course, there were some special ones, such as those riding giant lizards, and others…

“There’s someone riding a pig.”, Muria exclaimed in astonishment as she observed an upcoming middle-aged adventurer on a wild boar.

The animal was as large as a common horse, with fluffy mane and sharp fangs. The middle-aged man on its back, in his armor, wielding a hammer, looked pretty impressive despite his rather dark complexion.

However, this “Wild Boar Knight” blanched instantly at the sight of Muria on a wolf mount.

The wolf underneath Muria didn’t look special with its blue-black fur, just like any regular Fierce Wolf.

But its length was twice that of a normal Fierce Wolf, resembling a moving hut, exuding a sense of overwhelming presence.

“Move!” At the sight of Muria on her wolf, the “Wild Boar Knight” quickly conceded the road without giving it a second thought. But to his disbelief, his usually well-behaved boar mount faltered.

The boar’s four stout legs were slightly trembling. This seemingly mighty creature was scared by the Dragon Huge Wolf. Following which, a pungent scent of urine filled the air, spreading along the main road.

“Stop!” The Giant Wolf stopped a few meters before the “Wild Boar Knight,” as the being she was carrying had a hold of her neck fur.

“Pass by him!” Muria tugged at the corner of her mouth, looking at the wild boar that was about to collapse, exuding the stench—all useless, it was scared to the point of wetting itself.

“My lord, I truly apologize. I’m so sorry!” Seeing the young man clad in a black robe riding the Giant Wolf, the “Wild Boar Knight” expressed an embarrassed but polite smile and kept bowing, apologizing to Muria.

“Get another mount. Otherwise, this one will get you killed sooner or later!” Muria casually mentioned, observing the dark-skinned man flushing with anxiety. She rolled her eyes at the inept wild boar and then rode the Giant Wolf right past him.

“I’m already used to this one. I couldn’t possibly change.” The man chuckled modestly, tactfully declining Muria’s suggestion.

Muria was indifferent; after all, she was merely making a suggestion. To her, a mount that was paralyzed at the sight of an average Dragon Huge Wolf was utterly useless.

Riding the Giant Wolf, Muria reached the city gate entrance. She stopped the wolf once more, blocking the path ahead of the gate, then raised her head to gaze at the purple-black city wall that stood more than ten meters tall.

Observing Muria’s demeanor and action, the gatekeepers exchanged bewildered glances among themselves. However, they made no move to hurry her away from blocking the crowd.

As gatekeepers, they knew better than to mess with a boy on a Silver-class Gigantic Wolf.

Moreover, the width of the city gate was about ten meters. Even with the Giant Wolf taking up a third of the expanse, there was ample room for the crowd to pass. Though, in reality, hardly anyone dared to do so.

“The purple-black hue is not the original color of the wall.” Muria muttered, observing the wall, which was constructed with gigantic rocks. The color was a result of the countless times the blood of monsters had poured onto it and congealed, concealing the original color of the bricks over eons.

At a glance, every brick of the city wall bore countless claw marks, large and small, narrating the gruesome battles that once took place.

“The conflict between wilderness and civilization, huh!” Muria surveyed the land behind her, overlooking the bustling trade route. Except for this, the rest was all the primordial forest. Thus, the wall clearly marked the boundary between the primitive wilderness and civilization.

Then, under the close watch of the city guards, Muria, after taking a few moments to scrutinize the city wall, nonchalantly rode her Giant Wolf into the city…
