King of Titans and Dragons -
Chapter 170 - 170 165 Dragon Wolves
Chapter 170: Chapter 165: Dragon Wolves Chapter 170: Chapter 165: Dragon Wolves “…” Upon hearing the young voice, Sandro gingerly lifted his head, his gaze shifting upward towards the exaggeratedly large Giant Wolf; the sound had come from somewhere on its back.
Then, his eyes met a pair of lazy golden pupils. Naturally, the man exhibited an astonished expression because, amid the lush black fur, he saw a young boy draped in a robe.
This boy appeared very small, sitting there in his black robe, over half of him directly hidden within the Giant Wolf’s fur. Moreover, he had kept his Qi exceptionally well concealed; even up until the moment the boy spoke, no one noticed there was a boy seated atop the Giant Wolf.
“So young!” was Sandro’s first impression of Muria. The now-visible boy’s face was so tender that it was hard to believe.
Then,
“My lord!” Overwhelmed with astonishment, Sandro quickly put away his Heavy Sword and bowed in respect to Muria. Anyone in their right mind would know that the boy before them was far from an ordinary human.
A boy who could traverse the wilderness accompanied by a pack of Silver Rank Giant Wolves – how could he possibly be a normal human?
Either he was a powerful being maintaining the appearance of a boy, or, he was a formidable beast capable of taking human form. Either way, these were matters of legend.
Sandro could never have imagined he would encounter such a creature in his lifetime – one thought to exist only in minstrels’ tales. He didn’t know whether to rejoice or mourn his fate.
“My lord, Black Rock Town is only half a day’s journey from here!” Despite the shock, Sandro’s past experiences had allowed him to regain his composure quickly and answer Muria’s question.
“Black Rock Town?” Muria furrowed his brows.
“For us it would take half a day to reach, but for you and your mount, perhaps it would only take a moment to arrive at Black Rock Town,” noticing Muria’s furrowed brows, Sandro quickly added.
“Is this still within the domain of the Norton Kingdom?” Muria asked again, for he had ridden the wolf pack towards Troy for over a month, guided by their contract, and had completely lost his bearings. Regardless, that was of little importance. His only goal was to find Troy. Everything else was irrelevant.
“Yes,” was Sandro’s somewhat puzzled response. He found Muria’s question rather strange. Doesn’t he know which kingdom he’s in?
“So how far would I have to go in this direction to completely leave the Norton Kingdom?” Muria asked, pointing in the direction the Giant Wolf had initially been heading.
“This…” Muria’s question left Sandro at a loss. Being only a lowly captain of an adventuring party, he had accepted tasks in several cities around him and his activities were kept within a limited range.
In all honesty, he had no idea how large his own kingdom was because he had never travelled across it, rendering him incapable of answering Muria’s question.
“Sir, if you move south another 600 kilometers, you will fully exit the Norton Kingdom and enter the Baiye Duchy.” Just then, a somewhat stout merchant, wiping sweat from his face accumulated from fear, approached Sandro and answered Muria’s question.
“600 kilometers… that’s not far.” Hearing the specific figure, Muria nodded in satisfaction. Meanwhile, he looked at the panting fat man before him with some surprise.
Being able to provide an exact distance meant this powerless, fat merchant might have travelled the entire distance personally. A person who had traversed 600 kilometers in this world was not simple. If he was just an ordinary man with no extraordinary abilities, that was even more remarkable.
In this world, monsters were everywhere. Gnomes, goblins, and gnolls could be found in every corner. Other ferocious beasts didn’t quite populate the wilderness densely as in Titan Islands, but their numbers remained daunting.
Moreover, there were even more formidable monsters that preyed on these violent beasts. An ordinary man, risking his life by journeying for miles, was impressive in terms of both courage and awareness
In just over a month, Muria rode on Fierce Wolf, venturing toward Troy’s location perceived via his contract. He had gone through thick and thin, witnessing numerous monsters, from the commonly seen three weakest species to the Giant Dragon at the top of the food chain.
Indeed, not long ago, Muria had encountered a black dragon in its youth period, one of the twenty-two black dragons he raised. Despite this, Muria still paused briefly.
He engaged this newly emerged young black dragon in a heart-to-heart discussion, taught it multiple dragon principles, and brainwashed it with ideological transformation and reeducation. Under the threat of a blade on its neck, the black dragon tried its best to remember every word Muria said.
Then, it reflected profoundly on its decades of life as a dragon, examined its mistakes, and promised Muria that it would become a “good dragon” with dreams, ambitions, and boundless enthusiasm for helping others.
“This is your reward.” Muria removed a chunk of gold the size of a millstone from the bag held by the fat merchant and casually tossed it in front of him. He had taken it from the black dragon who had the misfortune to meet him.
“Thank you, sir! Thank you, sir!” Upon seeing the massive pieces of gold before him, the merchant did not refuse, and instead, bowed to Muria in gratitude. This was like manna from heaven for him.
“Let’s Go!” Muria lightly pulled the Giant Wolf’s golden fur on its neck. The Giant Wolf then turned its head, lowered its body, and bolted, taking the pack of wolves with and diving into the wilderness. In just a few moments, they disappeared from the sight of the merchant party.
…
“It’s been over a month already.” Seated atop the Giant Wolf’s wide, soft back, being carried onward, Muria lamented, “Time flies, disappearing in the blink of an eye. But soon, I should be able to reunite with Big Cat.”
In just over a month, the once three-meter-long violent wolf had undergone a complete transformation.
Impacted by Muria’s Qi, its essence of life had changed. Phenomena like dragonization and enlargement had occurred one after another. As it carried Muria on its back during their journey, its size had grown significantly along with its rapidly advancing strength.
The hair around its neck that had turned golden served as the best evidence of this. If you moved the hair aside, you could see fine golden scales.
As for those dozens of wolves who were slightly smaller than the wolf leader, more than a dozen were the wolf leader’s original followers, the rest were the ones who voluntarily followed when Muria was riding the wolf in the wilderness…
