King of Titans and Dragons -
Chapter 165 - 165 160 Indifferent
Chapter 165: Chapter 160: Indifferent Chapter 165: Chapter 160: Indifferent In an instant, the bustling, lively valley was razed to the ground, and not a trace was left of the Gnolls who inhabited it. A massive crater now occupied the site of their former dwelling.
The high temperature had created crystals that were scattered across the base of the pit, and under the sunlight, they shimmered with a dazzling luster. Golden arcs of electricity danced across them, a sight of extreme beauty.
At the very bottom of the pit stood Muria in her human form, floating in mid-air. After observing her surroundings, she furrowed her brows in thought.
“The location is wrong. It’s not here.
Using the fur that Troy usually sheds as a medium, I initiated the teleport. Normally, I should be able to teleport directly to the big cat. Now, I can’t sense the big cat’s presence.
It means the teleportation went awry.
Was it because of that hand?”
Muria recalled the delicate and pale hand from just moments ago, when she was traversing through the dark space rift.
It seemed fragile and boneless, lacking in strength. Even when it touched the light pillar that was carrying her, Muria didn’t feel anything unusual.
“But…” Muria looked at the large crater a few hundred meters beneath her, “A single slap altered the coordinates of my teleport, causing an error in my teleportation but not inflicting any harm on me. Mother, did you intervene again!? Can’t I just easily retrieve my companion, is that difficult?”
…
“Uncle Raymond, I now believe what you said earlier.” The poor young man Burton, looking pale faced and trembling, spoke to his uncle.
“Heh heh!” The middle-aged man who had avoided becoming Gnoll excrement for the fifth time chuckled bitterly, his face full of sweat as he watched the black-haired, golden-eyed boy floating above the massive crater.
“Uncle, what should we do now?” The frightened Burton eyed Muria apprehensively. Even as an insignificant commoner, he was knowledgeable enough to know that those who could fly in the sky were all extraordinary beings with power no different than crushing ants to their deaths.
“Look beside you.”
Upon turning his head, Burton saw the Gnolls, who had previously been carrying him gleefully, now cowering on the ground. Their heads, sporting small horns, were pressed tightly against the soil as if they wished to bury themselves in it.
The Gnolls’ diminutive bodies were curled up into balls, shivering violently from fear. The tremors were quite obvious, but even so, they dutifully maintained their prostrated positions toward the seemingly young man hovering above them.
Burton was stunned by this scene. Although Muria did not exude the sort of domineering presence often depicted by minstrels, the Gnolls’ behavior and the spectacle that had unfolded when Muria appeared elicited deep respect within Burton. Simultaneously, a sense of dread began to permeate through him.
“What are you staring for?” a chiding whisper from Uncle Raymond came from the side. “Quickly assume the same position as these Gnolls. If you don’t want to die, do as you’re told.”
“It hurts, Uncle Raymond. I can’t do it.” Burton tried to move, but the pain from his broken limbs pierced through him like a drill.
“Even if you can’t, you must. Even if it kills you, force yourself into a kneeling posture. If you offend such a powerful being, death under their palm will be meaningless.”
The middle-aged man gritted his teeth, choking out each word. He dutifully adopted the same posture as the Gnolls, kneeling before the powerful figure. Even with his broken limbs, he kneeled. Even through the agonizing pain caused by the grinding of his bones, he endured.
In front of a powerful being capable of snuffily out their life with just a casual wave of a hand, the best option for the weak is to prostrate in the most humble manner, expressing respect, and pray for mercy.
…
After theorizing that his Mother had intervened once again, Muria sulked for a while before coming back to his senses and taking stock of his surroundings.
Low and sparse trees, dense bushes, frustratingly low elemental concentration, and the giant pit he had smashed under his feet.
“Hm!” Looking at the giant pit beneath him, Muria became lost in thought, “Did I smash anything when I landed?”
“Huh?” Then, Muria’s gaze swept across, seeing two humans struggling to move, and a dozen Gnolls kneeling next to the humans, “What’s this? Humans? Gnolls? What’s going on? Might as well ask.”
It’s not that Muria’s perception was poor, but these humans and Gnolls were just too weak. So weak that Muria’s mental perception regarded them as insects and completely overlooked them.
Muria took a step, and beneath his feet, a small Soul Intent Circle emerged, the spirit light flickered faintly, a breeze circled around, and his figure instantly appeared above the two men. This was not teleportation, but one way to utilize the Soul Intent Circle.
However, Muria’s casual action, in the eyes of the two men, Raymond and Burton, appeared unfathomable. In their view, Muria simply took a step and then appeared above their heads. The youth before them, aside from his excessively young appearance, fit their fantasy of a powerful being perfectly.
“What are you all doing?” Muria was looking down at the middle-aged man and the young man below, who were struggling to move. He asked in Continental Common Language with a poker face.
“Sir, we wanted to bow down to you, but all our limbs have been broken, so it’s been a bit difficult for us,” explained the middle-aged man with a worried face upon hearing Muria’s question.
He wasn’t sure what kind of being he was facing, but undoubtedly, it was a big figure he couldn’t afford to provoke. So, all he did was to express his humility as much as he could. Pride was not something a small figure like him should possess.
“Broken limbs!” Muria was slightly taken aback. Fractures and the like, to Titans, weren’t considered injuries. Even young Titans could recover within minutes. This was nothing.
But the ones in front of him were humans, one of which didn’t possess even a trace of extraordinary power within him, and the other had a thin and pathetic amount of fighting Qi, just enough to make him stronger than an ordinary human. Their bodies were pathetically weak.
One Ring Magic, repair minor injuries.
Muria extended his hand and pointed, the light from two spells fell on the bodies of the two humans that he initially mistook for insects, fixing their fractures.
“This is… magic!” As Raymond watched the light enveloping him, his face showed disbelief. He let out a discreet sigh of relief in his heart. The powerful being before him, who he couldn’t tell was human or not, was willing to heal them, which meant that they were safe. At the very least, their lives weren’t in danger.
“Did I smash anything when I landed?”
“Sir, you flattened a Gnoll gathering place and erased at least a thousand Gnolls from this world,” said the middle-aged man reverently.
“Just like that.” Upon hearing that he had killed a thousand Gnolls, Muria remained indifferent, without any emotional upheaval. They were just a bunch of Chaotic evil creatures. No matter how many of them died, he wouldn’t have a shred of mercy.
“You two,” Muria glanced at the dozen trembling Gnolls under his feet, a smile appearing at the corner of his mouth, “weren’t captured by the Gnolls to be used as stored food, were you?”
“Sir, you’re wise.” Middle-aged-man laughed awkwardly, not caring about the satirical tone in Muria’s voice. However, the young man Burton beside him bowed his head in shame.
Being captured by the lowest-level monsters was in itself a great shame.
“Tell me, where is this?” Muria didn’t pay attention to the Gnolls kneeling aside. Killing those low-level creatures on purpose would cheapen him. So, Muria chose to ignore them.
“My lord…” Just as middle-aged-man Raymond was about to answer Muria, the black-haired, golden-pupiled youth suddenly turned his head, staring at a low, dense bush with a sharp gaze.
“You actually came. Then come out! Why are you hiding like a Ground Mouse!”
