Chapter 153: Chapter 148: Nine Kings (Four) Chapter 153: Chapter 148: Nine Kings (Four) Time passed, an unknown amount of it…
“It’s your turn, young Titan, are you ready?”
“Hmm!” Muria gazed into the Eternal Flame at the melting legendary metal, nodding her head.
“A small reminder for you, the process will be quite painful.”
Muria tugged at the corner of her mouth, “Hurry up.”
“As you wish!”
Under Muria’s feet, the altar abounded with a brilliant spirit light from array patterns, countless streaks of light shot out, slashing across Muria’s body.
“Pff! Pff! Pff…” Beneath these radiating lights, Muria’s constitution, being even stronger than when she was of Gold Rank, offered no resistance and was easily pierced.
The light gold blood sprayed out, and dense wounds appeared on every inch of Muria’s skin. The young Titan teenager let out a muffled grunt of pain amongst this flurry of attacks. The slender, pervasive wounds on her body reminded her of a form of punishment from her previous life – death by a thousand cuts.
“Hephaestus, is there no other way to complete this bloodletting?” Muria’s eye twitched from the pain.
Light gold blood dripped all over her body, seeping into the array patterns beneath her feet and turning the colorful spirit runes into a light gold hue. The Eternal Flame at the top of the altar also seemed to be layered with a faint golden light. Simultaneously, an extremely peculiar transformation took place on the legendary metal within the flames.
“This method provides the quickest rate of blood loss,” Hephaestus’s voice echoed from all around the altar.
“But, it’s really painful.” Muria grimaced, her blood turning the spirit runes of the altar beneath her feet into gold.
“Such pain counts for naught!” A disdainful voice from Void Spirit resounded, “There is more pain still to come, young Titan, you must learn to adapt.”
“Your grandpa can damn well adapt to this pain.” Muria cursed inwardly, having never been subjected to such gruesome injury before. She felt as though she was being excruciatingly flayed alive.
However, at this moment, having advanced her Soul Intent, Muria’s constitution had greatly strengthened and displayed astonishing healing abilities. The flow of her blood ceased, and all her wounds were rapidly healing.
The wounds all over Muria’s body healed in less than ten seconds. Her previously pale face from excessive blood loss gradually regained its rosy color; however, her strength declined ever so slightly.
There was a price to pay for healing injuries.
But just as Muria barely caught her breath, the array patterns under her feet, now turned gold, lightened up once again. Numerous rays of light emanated, sweeping across her body, without affecting her bones, merely piercing through her skin and flesh. Once more, Muria was subjected to the torture of “death by a thousand cuts”.
“Damn it!” Muria staggered and knelt on one knee. Light golden blood, like a trickling stream, flowed out from her freshly cut wounds. Simultaneously, the altar beneath her emitted a strange pulling force that targeted her blood.
“Woosh!” Muria only felt her blood draining even faster, her just rejuvenated rosy complexion quickly returned to a deadly pale. A layer of ash-gray color was covering her body.
As Muria’s blood loss continued, more and more array patterns turned gold. The nine-tier altar started emitting a golden light, gradually creating an indescribable and unknowable transformation.
The Eternal Flame danced at its apex, transforming completely into a light golden color, becoming more lively. The legendary metal being scorched by the fire also underwent a wonderful transformation, a faint life force emerging. This metal seemed to come alive, possessing life itself.
As the legendary metal transformed, Muria knelt on one knee, the intrusion of the bizarre gravitational pull of the altar and the massive loss of blood made the wound-healing process extremely slow.
His sharply defined face began to sink, and his full muscles began to atrophy. His aura started to decline drastically.
This feeling of life quickly escaping him almost drove Muria mad, he hated this feeling: “Enough, put a stop to this, let me catch a breather!”
“So, you can’t even take this?” The Spirit of the Void spoke mockingly from all around, “If you want to craft a weapon that acts like an extension of your arm, how can you do so without paying a price? The following trial would be even more painful.
If you can’t bear it, you can give up at any time. I’ll send you back.
But, as a price, let’s leave those legendary metals behind. If you can’t even endure this pain, it represents that you’re not fit to possess them.”
“What kind of joke is this?! Dammit!” Muria stubbornly pushed himself up from the ground, “When did I ever say that I wanted to give up? I intended to forge nine weapons at once, I can actually endure this level of pain.”
“Huff!” Muria, with his sunken cheeks and atrophied muscles, inhaled deeply. At this moment, although he looked like a bag of bones, he still exuded the majesty of a towering mountain, still full of imposing elegance.
“Cassio, you have always been thoughtful.” Muria let out a heavy breath and took out the crystal bottle that Cassio gave him. Then, he unhesitantly poured the contents into his mouth.
“Gulp! Gulp!” As Muria chugged down the tree sap from the bottle, a rich life force exploded from within him. He was enveloped by a glowing light as beautiful as jade, visibly, his body began to regain its vitality.
His heart thumped rapidly, echoing like the sound of thunder. His atrophied muscles began to swell and his pale skin regained its reddish color, shimmering with a faint golden glow. His body began producing blood.
“Young Titan, since you’re persistent, I will help you again.” The spirit of the void’s voice echoed. As his voice resonated, the Eternal Flame fluttered slightly. Above, a vibrant light separated from the waterfall and shot towards Muria.
Before Muria could dodge, the beam of light, carrying a tremendous aura, entered his body.
“Humph!” It felt as though a live volcano was jammed into his body, countless hot and violent forces burst from the “volcano”, flooding his body. The intense force shattered his veins and muscles, making Muria involuntarily groan.
But, Muria had just swallowed the juice of the Eternal Tree of Life. A massive and pure force surged from the beam of light, rapidly healing Muria’s wounds. Muria faintly felt that his body was somehow stronger than before.
Before he could celebrate, an even more vigorous force burst forth from the beam of light that entered his body, breaking his veins once again. The force infused into his flesh, causing light golden droplets of blood to seep out of Muria’s body.
As soon as the droplet of blood appeared, it was absorbed into the altar. But Muria didn’t have time to concern himself with this. Six winding Dragon Horns sprouted from his forehead, Dragon Wings, Dragon Tail, Dragon Scale Armor all materialized. He quickly morphed into Dragon Titan Form.
But this form was a bit different. The originally magnificent and majestic Dragon Armor now displayed countless cracks, the blistering light shining through. Muria’s body seemed on the verge of bursting.
Muria was emanating a dazzling light, with Thunder surrounding him, Hurricanes spinning, Dragon Flames igniting. Underneath him, eighteen mysterious Soul Intent Circles appeared, exploding with a dazzling golden light, spinning slowly. Outside of the Soul Rings, the shadow of the nineteenth soul ring slowly emerged.
Underneath him, the light golden radiance shot out from Spirit Runes once again, traced his body, and easily tore apart his Dragon Armor…
