Chapter 148: Chapter 143: Void Forging Palace (Part 1) Chapter 148: Chapter 143: Void Forging Palace (Part 1) “Boom! Boom! Boom!” An astonishingly large heart beat on the crystal platform, its thunderous sound echoed around it. Surrounded by blood as hot and boiling as lava, it slowly flowed with each beat of the luminous heart. It surged in and out of the heart’s chambers, establishing a delicate cycle.
Muria stood in front of the crystal platform, staring at a heart that was even larger than him, glowing with a red spirit light, emitting an aura of corruption, degradation, and doom.
“This is the heart of the Balrog Flame Demon, and this is the purest blood extracted from its body,” said Muria with a look of undisguised disgust and surprise on his face. “Moreover, it is from a legendary Balrog Flame Demon.”
“Why would my mother keep such a thing?” Muria stared at the heart that was still beating and full of life, a hint of confusion on his face.
But Muria soon shook his head. The thoughts of the legendary mage were beyond his understanding. Their perspectives were different.
Muria turned to the other items placed on the crystal platforms. The collection was incredibly varied, including eyeballs, branches, bones, twisted tentacles and even a rock.
“This is a stone? Are you kidding me?” Muria paused at the sight of a dull grey stone placed on a crystal platform. Unable to resist his curiosity, he broke the protective barrier in place and touched the unremarkable stone. He didn’t believe this was a mere stone.
Incredibly rough to the touch… just like a real stone… Muria showed an inexplicable expression, it was definitely a stone, but how could it be?
A stone on a crystal pedestal? High-tier metals and high-purity Elemental Crystals, which were only less precious than Legendary Metals, were casually thrown away by the Golden Dragon Mother. So why was this stone placed on a pedestal and protected by the legendary array?
No, it wasn’t right; this stone simply did not belong here, it was too out of place… So, following this impression, Muria created a golden thunder at his fingertips, which fell on the stone that seemed to have no special qualities.
“I knew it.” Muria stared at the stone in front of him. It was unharmed, without any burn marks. He passed by it with an indifferent expression, showing no desire to pick it up. What can he do with a peculiarly hard stone whose uses were unknown to him?
After looking at several more items placed on the crystal pedestals, Muria summarized a common feature of the items placed in the treasure house. They were not decorative, even the ones that were exceedingly valuable. The Golden Dragon Mother sealed them in the treasure house rather than displaying them on the stands in the hallways.
“Huh!” Suddenly, a gleam of uncontrollable joy appeared on Muria’s face as he stopped in front of a crystal pedestal. On the crystal pedestal in front of him was a bundle of transparent light yellow “rope”, which seemed to be highly elastic and was emitting a faint spiritual glow.
“My mother indeed has a rich collection. She even has this kind of stuff.” Muria eagerly broke the protective barrier of the crystal platform and took this bundle of “rope” that was even thicker than his human form.
“Finally found a suitable material for my bowstring.” Muria, who had put away this bundle of “rope”, was so happy that his eyes curved into two crescents.
Muria, appearing as a twelve-year-old human boy, was handsome and had a smile that was particularly healing, of course, ignoring the fact that his arm turned into a golden dragon’s claw. The sight was quite shocking. A normal human would faint if they saw it. Healing was out of the question.
“It seems that the original owner of my string was quite powerful when alive.” Muria lifted his golden dragon’s claw to his eyes, moved it a little, and then the dragon scales faded away, gradually turning back into a soft and white human arm.
“The mere residual aura can stimulate my bloodline’s response. Very extraordinary.
But this is the best, the stronger, the happier I am. Then the bow that I forge will be more powerful.
The tendons of the Swamp Hydra are one of the best materials for making bowstrings.”
Muria was content to walk around the treasure house, checking the goods on the various crystal platforms. He was already satisfied when he got the Legendary Metal, yet there was more.
Muria really didn’t expect to find the tendons of the Nine-Headed Dragon here, and it seemed that this Nine-Headed Dragon was not only a legendary level, but also a prominent one among them.
The Nine-Headed Dragon, although called a dragon, has nothing to do with the Giant Dragon. It’s a multi-attributed snake-like ferocious beast having nine heads, an enormous body, and a very powerful bloodline. It is legendary as soon as it reaches maturity and is astonishingly vigorous.
“I really don’t know who killed this Nine-Headed Dragon?” Muria murmured. Just the residual aura from the dragon caused such a reaction in Muria’s body, indicating how terrifying this Nine-Headed Dragon must’ve been when it was alive.
“The guess is probably my maternal grandfather’s war trophy.” Muria speculated. It couldn’t have been his parents for sure. Although they’re a mage couple, they have not advanced to the legendary level until much later, probably a decade more than his age.
To kill a Nine-Headed Dragon of Legendary 4th Rank or above is hardly possible. The adults of this species are nicknamed, “Roaming Mountains” due to their enormous size. So, you can imagine how gigantic these creatures are.
“Hmm,” Muria strolled around the treasure house. He was not in a hurry. Before coming here, he had learned that the Dragon mother Atreus had left to “fight evil” and would not return for some time, so he needn’t worry about colliding with her. Moreover, the house had no one capable of stopping him from investigating her collection, since he had restrained the strongest maid in the castle (or so he thought). He had plenty of time.
“What’s up with this sword?” Muria casually broke a curtain of light, picked up a rusty short sword, which was short, only half a meter long. It looked like a dagger, but according to its shape, it was indeed a sword.
Thunder struck. Dragon’s flame burned. The sword didn’t change at all, not even a piece of rust fell off.
“What does this mean?” Muria cocked his eyebrows, “Hiding divine properties? Was the right owner not found? That’s why it looked like this rusty sword?”
“Humph!” Muria gave a scornful sneer, then… threw this broken sword into the space ring instead of placing it back on the crystal pedestal. He had an unexplainable feeling that the sword was special, so he followed his instinct.
