Chapter 1419: Chapter 1379: The Head Protruding from the Sky Dome_2 Chapter 1419: Chapter 1379: The Head Protruding from the Sky Dome_2 Muria was acutely aware of how fearsome her playmate, Remilia, could be, and she hesitated. She knew that once she and Yingdila devoured her few enemies, a war among the deities would be inevitable.

“Don’t worry about that. Before I came out, Muria had already told me to help myself to a feast, as long as they’re not our own.”

Yingdila waved her hand nonchalantly, and her words made Remilia make up her mind.

“Since Muria has spoken, I won’t hold back. Come on, I’ll take you to some delicacies. But wait for me for a moment, I need to prepare.”

Under Yingdila’s puzzled gaze, a series of cracks appeared around her blue-haired, red-eyed playmate, from which surged an eerie yet oppressively powerful crimson-black aura.

This ominous yet compelling force merged into Remilia’s body, augmenting her already formidable presence, which began to rise inexorably.

“What are you doing?”

Yingdila asked, puzzled, wiping the corner of her mouth.

The original Remilia had seemed quite tasty in her eyes, and now, as her power grew, she became even more tantalizing.

Although she knew these thoughts weren’t good, it was her instinct, and she couldn’t control it. However, while she couldn’t control these troubling thoughts, she could restrain her ideas and her body.

“The guys you want to feast on are in some dangerous places. With the state I was in just now, we couldn’t even make it through their doors, so I needed to boost myself,”

Remilia answered, feeling a sudden surge of extreme caution. She knew the source of this inexplicable sensation.

After all, she had grown up playing with Yingdila, a monster from the Void, from childhood. Being able to play with a monster implied she was one herself. She was aware of this yet undeterred.

“There’s no need for all that trouble, just show me the way,” said Yingdila, feeling increasingly enticed by Remilia, rubbing her long hair in irritation.

“Alright then!”

Sensing the crisis growing within, which started affecting her mood, Remilia ceased retracting her powers.

“Follow me.”

Glancing at the now tranquil sky, too indifferent to instruct further, Remilia transformed into a black and red rainbow that sliced through the firmament. There was no time to dawdle.

The fall of a divine child would inevitably alarm the deities and elicit their reaction. But given the deities’ perception of time, they would have enough time to act.

“Oh, okay.”

Yingdila made no observable move, but as she stepped forward, her figure vanished directly from the sky, appearing utterly ordinary and inconspicuous.

“Ah, this holy war has been going on for five or six years already; when will it ever end?”

Under the radiant sunlight, a farmer who had been tilling the field all morning complained to his wife during a break.

“It will end when we win this war,” answered the woman, who, compelled by necessity, had joined her husband in the fields.

“But when will we win? It’s been so long without a clear sign.”

The farmer was agitated. A normal holy war would be a topic of conversation for a rustic like him, enlightening yet having no impact on his life.

However, this war, initiated years ago, had impacted his life in every aspect—rising costs, soaring grain prices, and as a peasant, he didn’t benefit from it because his harvested crops were “donated.”

This was still not the end; if the war dragged on a little longer, his grandson would qualify and, like his son, be forcefully conscripted. By then, it would be the end of his family.

“…” Facing her husband’s concerns, the woman could only remain silent. For villagers like them with limited information, just knowing about the holy war was already remarkable.

Boom!

It was only when the couple had rested and were ready to go back to the fields to work that a sound came from afar. Sitting on the ridge of the fields, they distinctly felt the vibration coming from the ground.

“What’s happening now?”

The farmer looked in the direction of the vibration, confused and simultaneously nervous.

For someone of his lowly status, he just wanted to live his days quietly, not wanting to stir up trouble or witness events that were noteworthy enough to be recorded in books because when such events occurred, he could only passively accept the outcome without the ability to choose.

Before the farmer could finish speaking, an even louder and more muffled sound came, and the vibration from the ground intensified, making him feel as though he was momentarily disconnected from the earth.

Just as the farmer was bewilderingly searching for the source of this inexplicable vibration, the sky above his head split open… first a few drops of pale golden blood, then a massive body, followed by a thunderous crashing sound.

By then, the farmer had realized what those two sounds and vibrations were about. He stared, dumbfounded, at the divine creature that had collapsed the mountains nearby and kicked up billowing dust, his body trembling uncontrollably.

Because he knew what the creature, which could destroy mountains with its body’s weight, was. He remembered seeing similar images when he had visited the church.

It was the divine beast that served around the Divine Beings, as described in the scriptures. According to the scriptures, if such a divine beast appeared, the mortals who saw it would surely experience good luck, and the land where it appeared would become more fertile.

Yet, at that moment, the farmer did not look forward to these auspicious events, for the divine beast he saw was dead. He could see a terrifying wound nearly splitting its body in half.

The stream of pale golden blood flowing from its body had already formed a small creek. There was no way such an event could bring good fortune to the witnesses, though making the land more fertile might be possible.

“This…” The woman who had also recognized the bleeding carcass nearby began to tremble, not just out of fear, but also because of the collapse of her faith.

“Great Lord! Please…”

Filled with fear and feeling immovable, the farmer trembled as he knelt down and began to pray, and his partner proceeded to recite the prayer as well.

Rumble—

As the sporadic prayers picked up, the sky suddenly darkened, and the dazzling serpents of thunder streaked across the clouds, carrying a roar that seemed to burst eardrums.

Whoo—

The sound of howling wind arose, carrying intense heat. The farmer, initially kneeling and praying, raised his head, then his body collapsed onto the ground,

“I…” The farmer wanted to say something, but he couldn’t say anything at all. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed his wife had fainted, but for some reason, even though his body shook and his legs felt somewhat wet, he remained consciously alert.

Thus, he could only watch helplessly as this sight, destined to haunt him for the rest of his life and become a lifelong shadow, unfolded.

From the torn Sky Dome, a Giant Beast with a winding, slender neck extended its head from an unknown place, biting towards where the divine beast had fallen. Thunder shone among the dark clouds, striking behind the scales on the neck of this ferocious monster, making its scales even more radiant.

Click!

The sound of chewing rose, the farmer, unable to command his body, watched wide-eyed as the head of the Giant Beast emerging from the crack in the sky devoured the fallen divine beast thoroughly, even the flowing blood and the dirt and rocks were crunched down.
