Chapter 1409 - 1409 1374 The Worlds Own Son
Chapter 1409: Chapter 1374: The World’s Own Son? Chapter 1409: Chapter 1374: The World’s Own Son? The Grey Fog that had Covered the Sky Dome dissipated, and in the sky, the sun hung high, blazing brighter than ever, releasing light and heat more intense than before.
Upon the earth, some small plants, due to this suddenly intense light, even began to turn yellow and wither. In especially dry areas, light smoke even began to rise, and visible moisture steamed from lakes and rivers.
In such an extreme climate change, the devout worshippers of the Sun God were ecstatic, for to them, this was undoubtedly a miracle descended by the Deity of Faith.
But when a second sun appeared in the sky, the followers of the Sun God went utterly mad, their expressions wildly excited.
If one looked from the Deity’s perspective, one could see that the Power of Faith contributed by those believers on the ground had spiked by more than sixty percent on average. This was one of the reasons why Deities were willing to display their power and leave miracles occasionally.
However, this time the Sun God was not revealing a miracle to harvest the Power of Faith; this was merely a side effect of His appearance to confront another powerful enemy.
“Below are all your believers, displaying your power so recklessly, is this really okay?”
Muria glanced at the land below. Compared to the moment when he had lifted the Undead Fog and Covered the Sky Dome, plunging the world into darkness, the world now was truly a living hell.
After all, the Grey Fog he had raised had intentionally avoided the land below, but now the Sun God, in His own presence, naturally radiated power that caused indiscriminate harm.
The Deity wielding the Solar Divine Authority, when He appeared in the sky, if He did not deliberately suppress his own power, the power He emitted was no different from that of the actual sun.
“For Them, it is also a test. Those who truly believe in me will not be harmed by my power but will instead gain many benefits.
As for the believers who are not sincere, no matter how many die, what does it have to do with me?”
Hearing Muria’s questioning, the Sun God glanced at the land below and then raised his head to answer indifferently without any hint of pride or similar emotions.
A Deity, high and aloof, transcendent above all mortal things, ordinary mortals are mere ants providing Faith in Their eyes, only the most devout few can catch Their gaze and qualify for sainthood.
“Should I say, truly a Deity?”
Not swayed much by the Sun God’s indifferent words, Muria found it quite expected.
The attitude of the Sun God was clear. He only protected creatures who truly worshipped Him and didn’t care about how many non-believers died, even if their deaths were caused by His actions. He was indifferent.
“Muria, you actually care about these mortals who aren’t even your believers; such compassion is really laughable.”
The Sun God, holding his Scepter, stared at Muria with a faint hint of the World of the Dead emerging behind him and chuckled, seeing that this Death God was restraining his power.
“What’s so funny? I’m just like you, only caring about my own believers.”
Muria responded calmly, his golden eyes sweeping across the land filled with widespread misery. Though he felt a bit of pity, he did not intervene.
“Like me? Ha, you’ve got big ambitions!”
The Sun God instantly recovered from the remark, understanding Muria’s grand ambition.
To cherish the creatures across the domains ruled by an enemy was not compassion, but rather seeing them as possessions within his bag, hence the regret for their loss.
“Unfortunately, you’re not worthy!”
“That’s not for you to decide.”
Muria’s extended hand slowly clenched, and the Bone Spear that had pierced into the Sun God’s Divine Country began to dissolve. Birthed with the scent of slaughter, the skeleton undead legion emerged from it, flowing into the Sun God’s Divine Country along the Bone Spear.
“For the sake of the Sun God’s power, kill!”
“For the Power!”
Fervent war cries erupted in the Sun God’s Divine Country. Facing the skeleton undead legion pouring from the torn breach into the Divine Country, the worshipping warriors of the country spontaneously formed an army to confront them.
This war, whose outcome was determined from the start, had the worshippers’ army possessing an unbeatable foundation due to their numbers and geographical advantage.
However, achieving victory would come at a certain cost. After all, their enemies were temporary cannon fodder crafted from thin air by a Deity’s Divine Power.
And even as expendable forces, under the boost of the Death God Power, they possessed terrifying lethality. The most notable feature was that worshippers killed by the undead could not be resurrected within the Divine Country.
For those who had tasted Eternal Life through their Deity, this was undoubtedly the most fearful event; it even slightly impacted the warriors’ morale. However, the issue was not significant since all who could enter the Divine Country were ardent devotees of fervent Faith.
“To make such a commotion, in the end, is this the only trick you can manage?”
The Sun God, sensing every worshiper fighting against the undead legion and disappearing forever, became even more indifferent. He had no intention of intervening in the war within his Divine Country.
