Chapter 1408 - 1408 1373 Regaining Face

Chapter 1408: Chapter 1373: Regaining Face Chapter 1408: Chapter 1373: Regaining Face In the sky, radiant with bright sunshine, sparse white clouds drifted slowly, moved by a barely perceptible breeze. The interweaving of white and blue was refreshing to the spirit.

However, within this beautiful sky reminiscent of a fairy tale, an unsettling grey fog was spreading—a deathly still fog spreading from a far corner of the horizon. It soon covered the dome of the sky, eclipsing all sunlight and plunging the land below into darkness.

This change sent the intelligent creatures living on the land into a state of panic. Creatures of faith flocked to the nearest temple or altar, worshipping their deities with fervent prayer, seeking protection.

But the grey fog that shrouded the entire sky showed no intention of descending upon the land; it merely hovered high above, spreading endlessly into the distance, seemingly wishing to envelop the whole world in darkness.

Before long, the grey fog had completely obscured the sky from the view of the creatures below, and without sunlight, the land remained in darkness. As time passed, the fog in the sky grew denser.

Under the watchful eyes of the terrified creatures below, the fog churned as if something gigantic was taking form within it.

Indeed, what emerged before the eyes of creatures plunged into darkness was a weapon nearly spanning the dome of the sky itself, revealed as time passed.

It was a pure white spear several hundred thousand meters long, flickering with shimmering white light, as if it had been fashioned from the bone of some heavenly giant god.

But in reality, this was impossible, for no such colossal being existed in the world, nor would such a being have its bones stripped to make a weapon.

Boom!

When the atmosphere parted, the sound of the explosive surge echoed between heaven and earth, where sunlight no longer shone. Under the gaze of countless panic-stricken creatures, the white spear stretching across the sky began to move slowly.

But in truth, it was only the creatures below who felt the movement was slow; the perceived slowness was merely an illusion caused by the immense size of the moving object. Even the air displaced by the white spear’s movement formed visible ripples to the naked eye.

Bang!

A muffled collision resounded through the lightless world as the long spear traversing the sky struck an invisible barrier.

Amidst countless creatures’ cheers, jubilation, and praise, a kingdom bathed in endless brightness, forever cloaked in light with not a trace of darkness, appeared, blocking the path of the pale spear.

Such a scene, to the eyes of many believers, seemed as if their devout prayers had been answered by the deities. The divine beings began to destroy the evil in front of them with a miracle.

Thus, the sounds of sacrifice echoed across the land and quickly merged into one, sounding increasingly vast. But the two beings, already engaged in a mental duel above the sky dome, paid no heed to the actions of the believers on the land below. These weak mortal things, regardless of what they might do, could not affect Them.

“I really didn’t expect that, having just ascended, you would make such an unwise move. You’re still too young. Don’t you think it’s a bit too early to challenge me?”

The voice was calm and authoritative, echoing through the sky dome with a warmth and grandeur like that of the sun. Apart from divine beings, mortals could only hear it as thunderous rumbling.

“The timing is just right now,” responded the challenger.

Muria controlled the Pure White Divine Spear, spanning the entirety of heaven and earth, and struck at the domain of the Sun God, aiming to shatter His Divine Kingdom Barrier and to blast a corner of His realm to pieces.

“So you seek retaliation for my prior actions against you? Haha, choosing now to strike only makes me think less of you,” the Sun God said in an indifferent voice.

“How regrettable, but sadly, I have never cared for the opinions of others, so think what you will, as long as I can satisfy my own desires.”

While speaking, Muria amplified his power output, causing the bone-refined Divine Spear to swell, its sharpest point already breaching the Divine Kingdom Barrier of the Sun God.

“It seems you are unwilling to retreat. If so, I shall no longer leave you any dignity.”

“Boring. If you want to make a move, just do it directly. Why bother with all these flashy gestures?”

Muria sneered at the seemingly generous and peaceful actions of the Sun God, knowing fully well how dark the heart of this Deity was, having been manipulated by Him before.

Sergei Gradyer, wielding the Sun God Divine Power, was not as glorious and righteous as his appearance suggested, nor was he like the sun in the sky, filled with endless brightness, devoid of any flaws.

However, He had His own desires and would undertake actions not befitting the divine role He controlled, and it was these acts that showcased His strength. A puppet deity dominated by his divine role would never do such things, only a Divine Being who fully mastered his divine role could act so freely.

“Honestly, I admire you, but unfortunately, you always do things I dislike. Today, you even dared to strike at my Central Domain, so prepare to leave something behind before you depart.”

Like a sudden storm, the golden Solar Divine Power rained down from the highest point in the sky dome, smashing the pervasive Grey Fog in the sky to smithereens, making it seem utterly fragile.

“How unfortunate. I dislike leaving anything behind; rather, I prefer to take something when visiting my enemies’ homes.”

Muria huffed, appearing in the sky dome with a Divine Wheel at his back, seemingly insignificant compared to the Pure White Bone Spear below him. However, when He extended His palm and gently pushed forward, the entire spear directly penetrated the Divine Kingdom Barrier.

“You dare!”

The moment His Divine Kingdom was breached, the Sun God could no longer conceal his anger. The sunlight in the sky blazed brilliantly, and golden fires rained down from the heavens, beginning to annihilate swathes of pervasive Grey Fog.

“What’s there to fear!”

Muria’s outstretched palm, with another gentle press, directed the Bone Spear—almost costing Him a third of His Divine Power to forge—straight into the Land of the Gods of the Sun God.

The Divine Kingdom quaked, the earth trembled, the rivers reversed their course, numerous Worshipers in the Divine Kingdom fled for their lives, while others, unluckily caught in the falling spear’s wake, turned into specks of spirit light and vanished completely.

“You’re courting death. Today you won’t leave this place unscathed!”

Instantly knowing the damage inflicted on His Divine Kingdom by that strike, the Sun God furiously seized His Solar Scepter under several expectant gazes, He who held the supreme Divine Power.
