Chapter 139: Chapter 134: Almost There (Part 2) Chapter 139: Chapter 134: Almost There (Part 2) “Young Master Muria.” As Muria in his human form landed at the castle’s cloud terrace, the blonde maid head Sophia was waiting by the side. She looked much the same as when Muria first met her, an image of youthful elegance that had never seemed to change. Time seemed unable to leave a trace on her.

“Sophia.” Muria gave a small smile. The seemingly youthful beauty before him had a longer lifespan than one could fathom—he grew up under the watchful eye of this maid head.

“Young Master Muria, are you here to replace your books again?”

“Hmm, I’ve sought through a part of it and intend to switch to a different batch.” Muria nodded his head, “I’ll take my time choosing. No need to assign a Dragonkin maid to follow me.”

“Understood, please take your leisure. I shall withdraw now.” The blonde maid head gave a slight bow to Muria and then turned to leave with a procession of maids.

After seeing off maid head Sophia, Muria’s small figure levitated slightly from the ground, about half a meter from it. He flew back into the castle, heading directly towards the library.

“Young Master Muria!”

“Young Master Muria!”

…Along the way, Muria encountered many Dragonborn Maids. These ageless female servants would respectfully greet him upon seeing his figure. And in return, Muria would nod and look askance to acknowledge them.

“Phew! Finally, a place where there’s no one around.” After turning a corner, Muria surveyed his surroundings, empty and devoid of any signs of passing Dragonkin Maids. He promptly darted into an exhibition room.

This castle, built with Elemental Crystals as a base material, was maintained by the Maid head Sophia and over a thousand Dragonborn girls. Even so, it was often hard to come across any Dragonkin Maid due to the colossal size of this Crystal Castle.

“What kind of monster’s remains is this?” Muria frowned at the enormous metallic beast skeleton glittering inside the exhibition room where he was.

Despite laying down, the skeleton was nearly as tall as his Titan form, indicating that it must have been a massive beast. The beast size exceeded that of a matured Titan.

“Such a pity, you are already dead,” Muria looked up at the empty skull of the skeleton, a flicker of regret crossed his face. An entity of such awe would have excited numerous Titans if it still lived. Just by its size, the power of this enormous creature wouldn’t disappoint, its physical constitution must have been formidable at least.

But it seems that this creature has long been extinct. Because Muria can’t identify what kind of creature it used to be. Although he has not read all books, he has grasped most of the “basic knowledge”. He is familiar with all the legendary creatures recorded up to now, none of which can correspond to the skeletal remains of the beast in front of him.

Therefore, Muria was almost certain that this was a legendary creature that had long since lost its bloodline inheritance in the past. They did not breed and survive up to now, so there are no related records even in the books.

“Sorry, I’m not a scholar, I’m not interested in your origins.” Muria approached the remains of this great beast slowly stretching his hand forward, “I’m just a child who wants to retrieve his belongings.”

“Hum!” Before Muria’s palm could touch the skeleton, a light curtain with intricate array patterns emerged, interrupting his hand.

Muria looked at the familiar array patterns on the light curtain, his eyes slightly narrowed. Over his small palm, a faint spirit light covered, then it continued to extend forward. Under his palm, the patterns silently shattered one after another.

As the palm extended forward, layer upon layer of patterns silently shattered, and Muria’s pressure got bigger and bigger. The array that protects the beast’s remains may seem like a thin layer, but in reality, it is a hundred array patterns interwoven together. Moreover, these array patterns shift with time creating even greater difficulty for Muria to crack.

Muria, a young boy with black hair and golden pupils as delicate as a porcelain doll, his hair had started to turn damp and small beads of sweat began to form on his forehead. His face was turning red.

“Almost there.” Muria clenched his teeth. Most of his palm had penetrated into the light curtain. It seemed like it was going to break through the light curtain and touch the great beast’s remains.

“Just a little bit more.” Drops of sweat were falling from Muria’s face. Steam faintly started rising from his head. His originally delicate face began to distort slightly with a hint of ruthlessness.

“Bang!” A slight shaking noise rang out, and Muria’s delicate figure suspended in the air swiftly withdrew to some distance.

“Failed again.” Muria clenched his fist, biting his teeth, “Just a few more layers, if given more time, I would definitely have broken it. The patterns of the last few layers are changing too quickly, before I could break them, they have already changed to new ones.”

“Phew!” Muria took a deep breath, trying hard to suppress the disappointment due to the failure of cracking the array. He tried to encourage himself.

“This is the Legendary Composite Array, it’s already an achievement to crack it to this extent in twelve years. I just need a bit more effort, I have already memorized the patterns that just appeared. The next time I come, I will definitely be able to crack it.”

The Golden Dragon Mother Atreus’s Crystal Castle was covered by a massive Legendary Composite Array. The array protected everything within this castle, especially the rare items that were openly placed in the halls and corridors.

Muria retrieved a “Book of Breaking Arrays” from the Golden Dragon Mother’s library. After studying it for several years, he started to frequent the Crystal Castle, attempting to crack the castle’s array.

The vastness and complexity of this legendary array far exceeded the imaginations of ordinary mages. With Muria’s level, attempting to directly crack the legendary array without its blueprint would be a vain dream.

To crack the array better, initially, Muria decided to live permanently in the Crystal Castle and by any means necessary managed to stay. And then at any opportune moment, he would stimulate the array to memorize every pattern that appeared.

Then, Muria would return to the Titan Clan Lands to ponder how to crack each pattern. Once he figured it out, he would return to Crystal Castle to attempt it. However, every time after he attempted to crack the array, new pattern variations would emerge, blocking Muria’s palm from crossing the thin light curtain.
