King of Titans and Dragons -
Chapter 128 - 128 123 Rejection
Chapter 128: Chapter 123: Rejection Chapter 128: Chapter 123: Rejection “Hmm! What requests?” The Sword Saint looked at Muria with some confusion. This slightly peculiar young Titan seemed to have come to him on purpose, but he didn’t understand what about him could possibly attract the attention of a Titan.
“I would like you to teach me swordsmanship,” Muria bit his teeth and stated his ultimate reason for coming here.
“You want me to instruct you in swordsmanship?” Sword Saint Ron laughed lightly, looking at the child before him with black hair and golden pupils, “Little Titan, did you come here specifically to mock me?”
“Your Excellency, Sword Saint, I am not implying that,” Seeing that the Sword Saint misunderstood him, Muria said seriously, “Your mastery of the sword art is impressive, I sincerely ask you to accept me as your apprentice.”
Having said that, under the surprised gaze of Hesel and the elf elders, Muria bent his upper body forward at a forty-five-degree angle and bowed deeply to the Sword Saint.
Observing Muria’s demeanor, the otherwise calm expression on the Sword Saint’s face became one of astonishment. He now believed this child Titan was not making fun of him but genuinely desired to become his apprentice.
For humanoid creatures, this posture represents a highly respectful courtesy. If it had been a human showing him this kind of respect, the Sword Saint might have doubted their sincerity.
But the one bowing to him now was a Titan with the most potent racial bloodline. Such entities would never engage in deceptive behavior.
Thus, Sword Saint Ron put away his smile, becoming serious, as he looked at Muria and voiced his own confusion: “Why would you wish to apprentice with me? I am, after all, a loser.”
This point perplexed the Sword Saint the most. In his battle with the Titan Yashiburn, the Sword Saint considered himself a thorough loser. His sword was shattered, his robe destroyed, and every legendary defensive ornament he had was ruined. Only by paying such a price did he manage to avoid dying on the spot from the Titan’s final blow.
Furthermore, the Titan he had challenged, Titan Yashiburn, had carried him to the Eternal Tree of Life of the Elf Race and paid for his healing, saving his life.
With such a disgraceful outcome, he wouldn’t have been surprised if someone mocked him. But he never dreamed that after he woke up, the first Titan he would encounter would ask him to become his teacher.
“Your Excellency, Sword Saint, in terms of swordsmanship, you were on par with Titan Yashiburn. You are not a loser,” Muria looked up and recounted the discussion between the Titan and Blazing Sky God Descendant.
“Look at this.” The Sword Saint raked his fingers through the metallic shards before him, then pointed at the deep blue long sword about to break at both his knees, “One legendary set of armor, four legendary defensive items, one legendary war sword, all destroyed. This is the price I paid to survive.”
“I am a loser. This is indisputable.” Sword Saint Ron remained indifferent.
“Your swordsmanship isn’t inferior to Titan Yashiburn’s. It’s your humble origins that hold you back. You don’t have a body that can compete with Titans,” Muria defended the Sword Saint.
“Humble origins, huh!” Sword Saint Ron sighed lightly. He had heard similar sentiments many times before. Many people would say that his humble beginnings were what limited his achievements, but despite this, he was able to reach his current standing.
“Young Titan, I have never regretted my origins, nor have I ever wanted to change them. Now and forever, I will cultivate as a human without changing this. This is my vow,” So resolute were his words, they echoed through the crown of the Eternal Tree of Life as if it were an oath.
“Your Excellency, Sword Saint,” Muria looked at the black-haired youth in front of him who had regained his composure, surprised.
“You can stand up now!” Seeing the courteous Muria, Sword Saint Ron extended his hand. A silver-white combative aura spread to Muria’s body, forcing him to stand up straight with an irresistible force.
“Sword Saint, you don’t want to be my swordsmanship tutor? Why?” Seeing the silver-white combative aura enveloping him, Muria struggled but found he couldn’t escape it. He then looked at the Sword Saint with a sense of unwillingness.
“I’m not qualified to be your teacher.” Seeing the expression on Muria’s face, Sword Saint shook his head with a bitter smile.
Human kingdoms had many who aspired to become his apprentices, but no matter their status, he refused them all. The reason was simple: none of them were good enough.
But now it was different. The Sword Saint refused Muria not because he found him inadequate; on the contrary, as a noble member of the Eternal Life Beings, Muria was willing to reject racial bias and ask humbly for advice. This alone was enough to impress the Sword Saint.
But while Muria was graciously offering to become an apprentice, the Sword Saint was too embarrassed to accept. Not long ago, he was beaten by his elders, and someone else had paid a significant price to save his life. Under these circumstances, Sword Saint Ron really couldn’t bring himself to become Muria’s teacher.
“Although my swordsmanship is decent, among your Titan Tribe, you can find a legendary Titan who is not much different from me. Also, you have the most advanced swordsmanship inheritance in Elasia.” Looking at the disappointed Muria, the Sword Saint wondered: “There is absolutely no need for you to apprentice under me.”
“It’s necessary.” Muria said to himself, Titan Tribe, indeed, had the strongest swordsmanship inheritance, but his learning speed did not measure up. He couldn’t even find other Titan peers to communicate with.
Among the martial arts inherited by the Titan Tribe over the long years, the choices for underage Titans like him were too many. Those who chose to practice swordsmanship were even fewer, much to Muria’s consternation.
When he tried to ask his father, Ansol, for guidance, nine times out of ten Ansol wouldn’t be around. His own father was such, let alone other legendary Titans. Before the challenge from the Sword Saint, he rarely ever saw legendary Titans other than his father.
Thanks to the Sword Saint, Muria saw the second legendary Titan in the Titan Clan Lands, Titan Yashiburn, which led to his present situation.
Muria really wanted to find a teacher who could solve his doubts, help him construct magic, learn battle formation, practice martial arts…Every day he had many questions and misunderstandings, but he couldn’t find even a few beings for communication. He could only rely on his own thoughts. Therefore, after seeing Sword Saint Ron and hearing the Titan Tribe and Blazing Sky God Descendant’s appraisal of him, Muria had the idea of asking him to become his teacher and immediately acted upon it.
“Your Excellency, Sword Saint, You really won’t consider becoming my swordsmanship teacher?” The silver-white combative aura surrounding Muria dissipated, no longer restraining him.
“I guess I could be your swordsmanship tutor,” the Sword Saint shook his head and paused before speaking again, “However, I can still guide your swordsmanship. If you have questions, feel free to ask me.”
“Really!” Hearing the Sword Saint’s response, Muria was overjoyed. This outcome was so much better than he had expected.
