Chapter 1097: Chapter 1084: The Land of Fallen Epics Chapter 1097: Chapter 1084: The Land of Fallen Epics “Ghoul, why bother struggling in your death throes?”
Holding a Sword and chasing after Muria in the sky, but unable to purify his demonoid avatar, the Angel sister finally lost her patience and said to Muria coldly.
“I have something I want to say to the King of Crimson.”
“A mere ghoul, and you wish to see His Majesty.” The Angel sister scoffed disdainfully.
“I have matters to attend to, otherwise why would I bother coming here?” Muria still tried to salvage the situation, after all, he had come so close, just one step away.
“Boring tricks.”
Unfortunately, no matter what Muria said, this Angel sister simply wouldn’t listen, and after a few words with him, she resumed chasing and trying to slash him with her Sword.
With no choice left, Muria continued to dodge. When there is such a disparity in power, skill can only barely keep one alive, but can’t change anything.
“Why haven’t we finished this off yet?” When Muria had dragged it out to a certain extent, several more Angel sisters flew out from the palace below.
“This ghoul is extremely cunning; it’s as if it knows my thoughts, anticipating where my next strike will land,” said the Angel sister who had been chasing Muria when she saw her companions join.
“Cunning? Let’s all attack together and purify him.” The Angel sisters coming to assess the situation were exceptionally fierce, paying no heed to fairness in duels or anything; they simply surrounded Muria and attacked collectively.
With such a decisive and efficient style of action, Muria really didn’t know what to say. If it were his own subordinates, he would certainly praise them highly, but when they regarded him as the enemy, it was extremely vexing.
Although Muria couldn’t overcome them with his demonoid avatar, his superior combat sense always allowed him to find gaps in the Angel sisters’ attacks and manage to dodge successfully, causing more and more of a commotion. Finally, he attracted the attention of the most powerful being in the palace below.
A grand, majestic, and lofty will descended, covering the battlefield where the Angel sisters were chasing Muria. When this will appeared, the group attacking Muria sensed it and their attacks grew even more ferocious.
This onslaught made Muria’s demonoid avatar even more beleaguered, but instead of anger, he felt delight, for the person he wished to meet had finally noticed him.
“You all, step back!” After observing for a moment, a clear, cold voice sounded in the sky, prompting the Angel sisters to stop their assault and hover in place.
Then, a look of shame appeared on their faces; they thought that His Majesty was disappointed in them for being unable to overcome a single ghoul despite their numbers.
As the group of Angel sisters awaited a scolding, they were surprised to see space itself tear open, and a slender yet strong hand reached out, grabbing towards the ghoul they were attacking—who at that moment, surprisingly did not move, allowing the hand to grasp him…
The divine, pure white light filled a splendidly radiant palace, and the goddess sitting on the Divine Throne looked down at the tiny ghoul in her palm, who was desperately curling up, and a smile appeared on her face,
“Muria?”
“Hmm!” Muria, pained by the brilliant radiance emanating from his beloved’s palm, responded with some dullness, sensing something was amiss.
“What has happened to you to end up like this?” Michaela’s tone contained a playful laughter, “That’s tragic; are you here to seek refuge with me this time?”
“Stop talking nonsense, I came because I heard about you and thus specifically split off a trivial amount of my power to form this avatar to check on you,” Muria said, placing emphasis on the word ‘trivial.’
“Really?”
“Of course, otherwise, how could I possibly be so weak that I can’t even enter a door?”
“Oh—” Michaela nodded, intentionally dragging out the sound.
“Withdraw your power a bit; you’re hurting me,” Muria, held in Michaela’s hand, hastily cried out as his demonoid body gradually dwindled.
“How do you possess such power?” Michaela laughed lightly and then, curbing her own power, grew curious.
“It’s power I’ve devoured. Though weak, its properties are quite interesting. For instance, it allows me to split off an avatar to come and see you.”
“Devoured power?” Michaela mused thoughtfully.
“Don’t just talk about me, tell me about your power,” Muria, using his remaining demonoid body to form a small human figure, then looked up at Michaela as she now appeared.
At this moment, Michaela wasn’t much different from her original self, emanating a power that Muria was extremely familiar with, the divine force of the Ancient Gods possessed by the Blazing Sky God Race.
This isn’t Elasia, the Blazing Sky God Race shouldn’t exist in this world, and moreover, the level of this world was destined not to nurture a race of the likes of the Blazing Sky God Race.
At this moment, Michaela, although similar to her original self, still had differences, such as the power she now possessed was not as strong and pure, and the wings on her back also had only three pairs, not five like her original self, indicating that her current Ancient Divine Bloodline was not pure enough.
“Before you returned, my grandfather chose this world for me, had me born into this world, then ascended to become a Blazing Sky God,” she said.
“So, do you also have home court advantage in this world?” Muria asked somewhat speechlessly; the treatment was unmatched.
“Yes, I have some advantages, but they are not significant,” she replied.
“What’s going on? Tell me about it,” Muria, understanding a bit more now, asked. This arrival was probably closely related to the Blazing Sky God Race.
“My ancestor once descended into this world. My current reincarnated body is the best proof that my ancestor had descended here,” Michaela pointed to her current body as she spoke.
“Hmm.” Muria nodded, prompting Michaela to continue.
“But due to the world’s rejection, my ancestor didn’t stay here too long before leaving,” she explained.
“Hmm, what was the reason your ancestor descended into this world?” Muria asked, seeking the essence of the matter; what could attract a Blazing Sky God to an ordinary medium-level world.
“You must have noticed it too,” Michaela said with a laugh, pointing at the Demonoid Body Muria was using at the moment.
“You tell me.”
“An Epics has fallen in this world!” Michaela announced, a message that was incredibly shocking, yet Muria’s expression did not change much, just as his wife had mentioned, having been in this world for so long, he had begun to suspect something.
“As expected, you noticed too.” Observing Muria’s expression, Michaela immediately understood.
“I had noticed for a long time that this Ghost Body I’m using now is probably evolved from the remaining power after that Epics fell,” he speculated.
“Exactly, that Epics, at the brink of falling, escaped into this world from the Void, then proactively disintegrated his Body of Myriad Spirits, merging into this world. Therefore, many creatures of this world possess powers deliberately disseminated by that Epics,” she elaborated.
“I think I understand what is going on now.” Recalling the information he had gathered, coupled with what Michaela was saying now, Muria made sense of many things.
Not long ago, a Blazing Sky God from the Blazing Sky God Race had battled with an Epics in the Void, and the Epics, having been defeated, even faced the danger of falling.
In the face of death, the Epics fled to this world and disintegrated his Body of Myriad Spirits, willingly merging with the world to avoid further pursuit by the Blazing Sky Gods; he even gave up ascending to godhood.
This near-suicidal method of self-preservation also left the pursuing Blazing Sky Gods helpless, as to completely eradicate the enemy, they would have to destroy this world, but they were unable do it.
And in a certain sense, although the Epics had fallen, this death still had the potential for resurrection. Therefore, the Blazing Sky Gods left their bloodline in this world to suppress the resurrection of the Epics.
From the current look of things, the Blazing Sky Gods’ method of suppression was still quite effective, for instance, the Epics had not resurrected yet.
“The root of chaos in this world is because of this Epics who willingly merged with the world; he disintegrated his Body of Myriad Spirits, almost scattering his body across the entire world, which led to his own fall,” she explained.
“Fallen it may be, but he didn’t die completely, he still wants to resurrect, and this drive to resurrect has also made war commonplace in this world,” Muria interjected.
Epics and Deities are two different existences standing shoulder to shoulder with each other, each with its strengths and weaknesses. Generally speaking, Epics are not comparable to Deities in terms of survival, but even so, Epics’ ability to survive isn’t that much worse either.
For instance, this Epics who voluntarily disintegrated his own body. When the scattered parts of his power and body gather together to a sufficient extent, he would be reborn, reclaiming the honor of being an Epics.”
“Exactly, if we want to gain source power from this world, we must eliminate this world’s source of chaos, namely this Epics who wishes to resurrect,” she remarked.
“That’s no small feat!” Having clearly understood the target of this reincarnation and descent, Muria couldn’t help but express.
“But it’s not very high either. We are only facing an Epics who has already died and wishes to resurrect,” Michaela observed, smiling as she looked at Muria’s Demonoid Body, “Besides, aren’t you already on it?”
