Chapter 109 - 109 104 The Legend of the Human Race
Chapter 109: Chapter 104: The Legend of the Human Race Chapter 109: Chapter 104: The Legend of the Human Race “That body of the sea monster outside, it is your trophy, Sir Ron.” Muria no longer paid attention to the legendary mermaid, instead looking at the legendary sword saint standing before her.
To be honest, if he wasn’t standing here, accompanied by a beautiful legendary mermaid mage, Muria would have a hard time imagining this man as a legendary figure, let alone associating him with words like strongest and first.
Before Sword Saint Ron could answer, the legendary mermaid mage Rafael took the initiative to explain the whole story to Muria, including why she would appear here with a human.
“Recently, a legendary sea monster, which originally slumbered in the deep sea, woke up for some unknown reason. We didn’t want to provoke it, but it chose to come to our mermaid territory to feed. Therefore, we had to fight with this sea monster and try to expel it.
However, we didn’t expect our Royal Court’s battle with the sea monster to disturb Sir Ron who happened to be passing over our sea area.”
As she said this, the beautiful mermaid mage looked at the middle-aged Sword Saint with some gratitude and reverence.
This made Muria pay more attention to this sword saint. From Rafael’s description, she could see that their so-called Royal Court was somewhat at a loss as to how to deal with this suddenly awakened sea monster. They could only expel it, not kill it.
As for after startling the Sword Master, obviously, this ordinary-looking middle-aged man made his move. As for which side he’s on, there was no need to think about it. One side was beautiful semi-humanoid creatures, the other side was a whimsical legendary sea monster. The decision of who to help didn’t need a second thought.
“Sir Ron made his move and killed the legendary sea monster with a single sword stroke.”
“So, as a repayment, you brought Sir Ron to me.” Muria impolitely interrupted.
“A Titan and a son of the Dragon. Please understand, Sir Ron wants to challenge a Titan. I only knew that there might be Titans here. Even if there aren’t, you might be able to get in touch with them.”
“One sword stroke killed a legendary sea monster.” Muria looked at the reticent legendary Sword Saint, “That kind of power is enough. I will return to my clan lands now and inform my fellow Titans of your challenge.”
“But, whether or not any of them will accept your challenge, I can’t guarantee.” Muria looked at the middle-aged man in front of her, then thoughtfully warned him, “If, and I mean if, a Titan accepts your challenge, please be prepared to die.”
“I was prepared for that when I decided to learn swordsmanship.” Even when threatened with death, Sword Saint Ron’s expression didn’t change, and there was no change in his eyes.
“The Titans will not take it easy in a fight. Are you really sure you want to challenge?” Muria asked the middle-aged man one more time. Perhaps it’s because she didn’t want the first human she had ever met in this world to die so simply.
Fighting a Titan of the same rank is too difficult for humans. This kind of fight is inherently unfair. The natural gap between Titans and humans is too broad.
“Please inform your elders.”
“Alright.” Muria nodded, and a radiant light shone from beneath her. With Rafael’s slightly astonished gaze, a teleportation array took shape under Muria’s throne.
Over the years, Muria had been traveling between the Titan clan lands and Taiji Island. As a result, she independently built numerous permanent teleportation arrays in various locations of the White Jade Divine Palace and the Five-Color Dragon Castle.
Under the throne in the Council Hall of the White Jade Divine Palace was a direct line to the Titan Clan Lands. Of course, it could only be activated when Muria was sitting on it. For other creatures, this teleportation array was nothing more than some beautiful patterns.
Surrounded by the dazzling white light of teleportation, Muria, along with Troy, disappeared from atop the throne, leaving the Storm Giants in the hall exchanging anxious glances.
…
“Muria, you came back so soon?”
“Yes, is my father still in the clan lands?” Muria asked directly after seeing Cassio, right after returning to her residence.
“Lord Ansalor has already gone to the Abyss.” Cassio looked at Muria curiously, “Is there something going on?”
“A human legendary Sword Saint has come to my island. He wishes to gain the recognition of the Titans with the sword in his hand, to gain the qualification to learn the Titan’s Inherited Swordsmanship.” Muria stroked her chin, “In simple terms, he wants to challenge a legendary Titan.”
“What’s his name?”
“Ron, Sword Saint Ron.”
“Ron, the first swordsman of the human race, legend of the seventh rank.” Cassio’s hand held out flat, a semi-transparent, humanoid, three-dimensional image forming on it. This was an ordinary middle-aged man holding a long sword, “he looks like this.”
“It’s him.” Upon seeing the likeness of Swordsman Ron whom Muria had just encountered on the island, forming from Cassio’s hand, she queried with great interest, “Cassio, how do you know what Swordsman Ron looks like? Does the Titan’s databank have his information?”
“Every legend of Elasia is collected by the Titan Race, which, of course, includes Swordsman Ron,” Cassio nodded, confirming Muria’s guess.
“The first swordsman of the human race… what did he do to earn this title?” Muria asked further. After all, titles are not up for grabs, but bestowed by the general public based on various exploits and widely disseminated stories.
“The first legendary claim to fame for Swordsman Ron was of his humble origins. He was no noble, but a simple commoner, a son of an ordinary blacksmith.”
“Commoner born.” Muria stared, then nodded. The swordsman’s attire was too humble, and he didn’t exude a noble’s temperament. His name, too, was incredibly ordinary, yet he held the powerful title of ‘First of the human race’.”
“What else?” Muria asked curiously. While accomplishing legendary deeds as a commoner was indeed rare, it did not qualify him for the title of ‘First of the Human Race’.”
“He slew the ancient red dragon Armageddon Augustus single-handedly. He fought against an Evil God Projection and defeated it. He unexpectedly encountered a demon blood sacrifice event, where he single-handedly stormed the Abyssal Gate constructed by the demon cultists, and for the subsequent three hours, not a single demon passed through the Abyssal Gate to Elasia…”
One by one, Cassio narrated each electrifying event, leaving Muria in awe. The protagonist of all these legendary events was Swordsman Ron, whom she had just met.
The legendary evil dragon that wreaked havoc in a region and caused disaster in several countries; the evil god projection that spread fear and made blood sacrifices of tens of thousands; the brutally ruthless demon invasion that devoured souls; the powerful and deadly legendary evil creatures…
The unassuming and ordinary swordsman confronted and slew countless legendary evil creatures. His experiences perfectly embodied the meaning of ‘Legend’, making him truly deserving of the title ‘First of the Human Race’.
And now, the swordsman Ron, whom Muria already somewhat revered, arrived at the Titan Islands to challenge the adult Titan Legend. His own legend continues to unfold…
“Ah!” Suddenly, while Muria was avidly listening to Cassio’s narrative of Ron’s legendary exploits, she let out a somewhat regretful yell, feeling that her initial reaction to the Lord Swordsman may have been disrespectful and arrogant.
“Damn it!” Then, it dawned on Muria who interrupted Cassio while she was describing Lord Ron’s legendary exploits. “I must arrange a legendary Titan for the Lord Swordsman. With such a record, he qualifies to challenge a Titan, even if he is human.”
“There’s no need to worry, I have already informed all the legendary Titans residing in the clans’ territory about Lord Ron’s challenge. One has already agreed to accept the issue.”
“Oh, the purpose of Lord Swordsman Ron’s visit to the Titan Islands is to observe and learn the sword skills passed down in our Titan clans, not specifically to challenge us,” Muria gave a dry cough. Truth be told, Muria really didn’t want him to battle with the titans in the clans’ area.
“What’s the difference between seeking recognition with a sword and challenging?”
“Seems there’s no difference.” Muria scratched her nose.
“Are you worried about him?”
“He’s a human, after all.” Muria sighed lightly. This Lord Swordsman had achieved so much in a human’s body, truly living up to the name of ‘Legend’. His deeds were enough for minstrels to compile into stories and legends and propagate throughout the lands of humans for millennia.
However, for the legendary Titans, what he did was nothing extraordinary. With the racial advantage of the Titans, they could easily achieve what he did with just a little effort.
“Muria,” Cassio interrupted Muria who was ruminating, “Lord Swordsman Ron and Legendary Titan Yashiburn have already begun their preparations, do you want to watch their fight?”
“Obviously.” Muria was somewhat excited. So far, the highest level battle she had witnessed was a group of soul-intent level Titans and descendants of the Blazing Sky Gods besieging a legendary eight-armed snake demon. Strictly speaking, this legendary battle was a bit of an inflated event.
But now, she had the chance to witness a high-level legendary battle, a battle between an adult Titan and the first legendary swordsman of the human race. This was undoubtedly an opportunity to expand her horizon.
“Of course I want to go.” Muria swung her fist,” “Where are they fighting? Is it on the outskirts of the Titan Islands? Can I go and watch the fight now?”
“How could we possibly allow the battle between legendaries to take place in the Titan Sea Area?” Cassio sighed helplessly at Muria, “The location of this battle is set at the first layer of the Abyss’s Master Ulysses’s abyss. If you want to go, I can send you there now.”
“Hurry up!” Muria urged Cassio eagerly. Beneath her, countless dazzling beams of magical power emerged and a three-dimensional transport array centered around her was constructed.
