Chapter 1007: Chapter 994 I Don’t Want to Struggle Anymore Chapter 1007: Chapter 994 I Don’t Want to Struggle Anymore Ah—
Suddenly seeing her son turned into a ball within a few seconds, the young woman screamed, then couldn’t help but cover her mouth, took several steps back, and looked at Muria with a face full of terror.
“What have you done to my son?” Even Mr. Bennett couldn’t help but change his expression and, unable to steady himself, asked Muria somewhat indignantly.
“Mr. Bennett, there’s no need to be too surprised. The principle by which I turned your son into this state is the same as what I just demonstrated to you,” Muria explained.
“Jelos, hurry up and change me back, I don’t want to remain in this state,” said Victor, the most distressed at the scene, being the one transformed into a ball. The experience was extremely unpleasant.
“Be patient, I was just showing your father why I can be your teacher,” Muria said with a smile, holding in his hands the visually striking sphere formed by Victor.
“Mr. Bennett, do you now understand why I am qualified to be your son’s teacher?”
“I understand now, change my son back,” Mr. Bennett also drifted into a dazed state, but as a seasoned man, he managed not to lose his composure too much.
“No problem.” Muria toyed with Victor’s body, which was no different from a mud puddle at that point, quickly realigned his bones, and restored him in an instant.
“Victor, how do you feel?” Seeing her son restored to his original state, the young woman immediately rushed over, pinching and feeling around on Victor’s body, deeply worried that something was missing or that he suffered some irreparable consequences.
“I feel fine.” Victor also moved his hands and feet with a look of surprise, feeling as if there was nothing wrong with himself. He could hardly believe that he had just been turned into a ball and now everything was back to normal—it seemed incredible.
“Changing my son into this state just now, will it affect his future in any way?” Mr. Bennett’s gaze fell on Muria, sharp as ever.
“Why would you think that? Causing Victor to suffer consequences that might affect his future, what benefit would that be to me?” Muria asked in surprise.
“In other words, my son is okay?”
“Of course, he’s fine. I was merely using your son’s body to demonstrate the unique aspects of a Martial Artist.”
Muria spread his palms helplessly, his face showing traces of frustration. Although his previous actions were a bit horrifying, they weren’t meant to be misunderstood to such an extent.
“I now need to take my son for a check-up to ensure his body is fine. If it proves so, I’ll let him come back to the capital with you tomorrow morning.”
“There’s no need for that. The manor where we reside now has a newly built hospital next door, equipped with the most comprehensive medical facilities. There’s no need for you to waste time taking Victor for a check-up elsewhere; I will take him now.”
Muria rejected the middle-aged man’s suggestion, as he was here on the orders of the clan.
“Doesn’t my son even have the right to stay in his own home for one night?” The young woman, holding her son, asked sorrowfully.
“Madam, please be aware that your son sneaked out on his own, without any butler’s authorization. I am here to take him back.”
“Let’s just leave this matter for him to decide,” Muria’s gaze shifted to Victor who was sitting on the sofa, looking somewhat restless,
“You make the choice. Either follow your father’s arrangement to go to the hospital for a check-up and then return to the capital tomorrow, or leave with me now.”
“Do I have a choice?” A helpless smile appeared on Victor’s face.
“Of course, you do. I won’t interfere with your actions, but as part of your freedom to choose, you must also accept the consequences of your decisions.”
“May I interpret this as you threatening my son in front of me?” Mr. Bennett said to Muria, a hint of annoyance in his eyes.
“No, please don’t misunderstand, it’s merely a small reminder for your son. Do you see a problem with what I said?” Muria responded.
“Dad, mom, I’m going back now.” Victor’s mouth twitched heavily. He had grasped the meaning behind Muria’s words and faced Muria, “Let’s go!”
…
“From the first day the clan entrusted me, until today, I have trained you for thirty days. The training of these thirty days has been excessively harsh, both in your eyes and in the view of the clan. Therefore, I have decided to follow your opinions and change the training method,”
Muria stood on a wide lawn, looking at the thirteen future pillars of the clan in front of him, none whose age differed from his by more than three years.
“To make your training more interesting, I have decided to hold an escape-style training today. Next, you will take the Clan’s aircraft to a cleared area of the Wild Jungle and spend three days surviving. All high-level Native Species in the Forest have been cleared, with only the Intermediate Primal Species being the strongest present.”
“Brother, if it’s just this, it basically doesn’t pose any difficulty for us, so what other dangers are involved in this training?” Daisy asked as she stepped forward.
“Good question. As I said, this is a major escape training, and since it’s training, I, as the Instructor, will of course participate. I will be a hunter taking part in this.
You, as survivors, will not only strive to survive in the jungle but also avoid my searches, or find a way to quickly escape after encountering me.”
Hearing Muria say this, the young men and women who had just found it simple couldn’t help but shiver uncontrollably. If Jenos were to participate, they could foresee that this training would be hellishly difficult.
…
An aircraft, already smoothing out its speed, descended gradually over a vast expanse of forest, then from it, one young figure after another leaped out.
“That guy Jenos, this so-called grand escape training, is just a way to torment us, toying with us both physically and mentally for his own amusement, huh, I’m not falling for it.”
During his descent to the ground, the most rebellious boy Victor thought quietly to himself, formulating a new idea about this escape training.
All thirteen youths landed on the ground, quickly gathered together, and began to discuss their next moves.
“The thirteen of us cannot stay together. A collective move makes too big of a target. That’s no good, but if we pair up, that would be just right, and it would also provide some sense of security for each other.”
“Victor, let’s go together!” Upon hearing about forming groups, the crowd immediately began seeking teammates. A girl approached Victor and invited him.
“No thanks, you guys team up. I’ll sit this one out.” Despite the invitation, even from a pretty girl, Victor was not swayed and shook his head, leaning against an ancient tree.
“Oh, Victor, are you giving up?”
“Somewhat, you can think of it that way if you like.” Already clad in Star armor and completely enclosed from the outside, Victor lay down on the ground, showing a lazy and indolent demeanor.
“You’re being too lax. Jenos would definitely be displeased if he saw this.”
“So what if he’s displeased? It has nothing to do with me, especially since I won’t be participating in this escape training. Let him play with that.”
“Don’t you see? That guy Jenos is just too strong, so strong that no one can match him, which is why he’s turned a bit twisted and keeps tormenting us for his own pleasure.”
“But Jenos’s compatibility is only 64.68%, and all of us here have at least 81%.”
“What time do you think it is, and you’re still looking down on him because of Jenos’s compatibility? Haven’t you had enough of being beaten by him these days? That guy is a monster that can’t be measured by Star talent.”
“So Victor, you’ve decided not to resist and just give up?”
“I’m tired of struggling. Sooner or later, I’ll be caught and beaten up by him, so I might as well drop out early and go out to sleep.”
Lying on the ground and feeling somewhat uncomfortable, Victor stood up again and began to clear the area beneath him; he prepared to wait for Muria here.
“You, never mind, forget about you; let’s go!” Seeing Victor’s indifferent demeanor, the others immediately shook their heads and walked away.
…
Golden light fell through the lush branches, leaving spots of light on the ground. Victor, resting his hands behind his head, looked at the Sunlight, listened to the soft roars of the Native species nearby, smelled the fresh air of the Forest, and his eyes gradually closed as he felt sleepy.
Just then, a step crunching on leaves approached from afar, gradually drawing nearer. Then Victor, ready to drift into sleep, opened his eyes and suddenly saw a youth in black casual wear frowning down at him.
“As I thought, you’ve been following us all along, coming after us right after we landed. You treat us as your prey, enjoying the pleasure of being a hunter, right?”
“Why aren’t you moving?” Muria frowned as he looked at the lax figure on the ground.
“Why should I move? The moment I run, it only adds to your fun, and even if you catch me, I still get beat up. Now that I’ve encountered you, I still get the same beating, so why shouldn’t I save some energy when the result is the same?”
