Kaidan Game Train: Abide Rule or Die!
Chapter 998: Fire of Freedom

Chapter 998: Chapter 998: Fire of Freedom

The shouting didn’t last long before a large number of players responsible for city security arrived. The traded individuals did not cry for help from them but instead frantically fled—being captured by the Municipal Government’s personnel might not be better than their current situation.

These players were not here to put out fires; they arrived first to surround the main culprits.

"Stop!" Young Master Xuan shouted upon seeing this: "This was done under my orders!"

"Who is that?" On a rooftop fifty meters away, a white-haired young man asked the person beside him.

"Captain, it’s someone from the Dong Family; he and Miss Cai are classmates, his name is Dong Jingxuan."

The white-haired young man leaped to the ground, nodded to Brother Lei before greeting Dong Jingxuan.

"Young Master Dong, I hope you are not injured." He feigned concern without dismissing those surrounding Xu Huo.

"Thanks to my new bodyguard." Dong Jingxuan was equally resentful towards the players of Xiaoyang City, his face cold as he spoke: "Otherwise, I might have died on your territory today."

"A new era, a new age, I never expected to face a day of being robbed and killed on the streets!"

"That’s our negligence," the white-haired young man said: "Why not let Young Master Dong return to the hotel to rest first, we will handle things here, and definitely provide a satisfactory explanation later."

"You explain it to him," Dong Jingxuan pointed at Brother Lei, then pointed at Xu Huo: "That man comes with me."

His attitude showed no room for negotiation.

The white-haired young man looked embarrassed, "He’s a player from another district, killed so many people, the Guard Squad can’t just let him go, we can’t bear the responsibility if questioned."

"Questioned?" Dong Jingxuan raised his voice, "Wait until I return to Snow City and ask the General Defense Department about your ’questioning’. It was I who ordered the killings; those who dared to lay hands on me here are getting off easy!"

With that, he didn’t even give the white-haired young man a chance to speak again, just said: "Let’s go!"

He called out to Xu Huo.

Xu Huo sheathed his sword, and said to the two players blocking his way: "Excuse me."

They looked back at the white-haired young man, who nodded before they stepped aside.

Xu Huo smiled and walked behind Dong Jingxuan, his bloody hand on the latter’s shoulder as he joked: "Young Master Xuan, didn’t expect you to honor your contract quite spiritedly."

Though he spoke to Dong Jingxuan, his eyes were fixated on Brother Lei in front.

Brother Lei scanned over his hand, then told the white-haired young man: "We’ll take Young Master Xuan back to the hotel first, somebody will explain to the mayor later, please don’t disturb us for now."

The white-haired young man squinted his eyes and agreed reluctantly, ordering his subordinates to clear the path.

"Wait, I’ll take someone with me." Xu Huo found a diversion, releasing a little boy from a cage, asking him, "Will you run?"

The boy, defiant, looked at the surrounding burning houses and then asked, "Will you sell me?"

Xu Huo touched his head, "Don’t trust someone so easily."

The boy looked up, "If you’re going to sell me, I’ll try to escape!"

Xu Huo nodded, leading him to follow Dong Jingxuan’s group.

The three little braided girls couldn’t follow Dong Jingxuan to the hotel, Brother Lei directly separated them and Dong Jingxuan; once at the hotel, without even time to change clothes, taking his credentials and preparing to leave directly.

"Why leave immediately?" Dong Jingxuan displeased, "I want to take a bath and eat."

"If you still want to keep your new bodyguard, leave now," Brother Lei said.

"Are you threatening me?" Dong Jingxuan was uncooperative, "I don’t believe Xiaoyang City dares to do anything to me!"

"They certainly won’t harm you," replied Brother Lei, "but do you have any way to stop them from forcibly holding a player from another district here? It’s only ten of us on this trip, the dragon can’t suppress the local snake, even we have to bow our heads."

"Do you think I disagree with killing just to trouble myself?"

"We represent the Dong Family, once a conflict arises it’s between our family and the local government; smoothing this out would cost the Dong Family quite a lot, causing such big trouble, do you still want to go out in the future?"

"That makes sense," Xu Huo commented nonchalantly nearby: "If you leave now, you can still get ahead of the situation when you get back, maybe you can even avoid a beating if you can turn things around."

Hearing this, Dong Jingxuan grimaced but agreed to leave.

Originally, their group had their own aircraft, but to avoid being intercepted, they chose to take the train—District 002 had regulations that no city government may delay or stop a train for any reason.

Once on board, Dong Jingxuan’s master temper flared up, demanding Brother Lei to fetch him clothes and food.

Although it seemed like he was looking for trouble, Brother Lei complied with all requests without delegating to anyone else.

Seeing this, Dong Jingxuan’s expression relaxed a bit, then turning to the clothes changed but not bathed Xu Huo, he said: "You’re all dirty, go wash up."

The person using the communicator looked up, "What did you say?"

Beneath a calm face seemed to hide invisible dangers, Dong Jingxuan swallowed, "It’s not... just wondering if you wanted to wash, you got so much blood on you earlier..."

Under Xu Huo’s gaze, his voice grew fainter, but he soon found a way to salvage his dignity, pointing to the boy next to them: "He needs to clean up at least, untidy people aren’t allowed in Snow City."

Xu Huo’s expression finally changed as he looked at the boy next to him, "It’s time for a wash."

"You go yourself," Xu Huo pulled out a dress from his luggage and handed it to him.

The boy held the dress, looking up at him.

Xu Huo looked down, "If you don’t like it, you can also come out bare."

The boy obediently went to take a bath.

Meanwhile, Xu Huo managed to contact Chi Minghong, telling her he was on the train.

"See you when we get off," Chi Minghong replied.

Not long after, the boy came back, wearing the prop dress Xu Huo bought for Little Pink Hat, clutching the hem of the skirt as he returned to his seat, evidently having tried to tear the dress apart.

Seeing a dining knife on the table, he grabbed it and tried to cut the dress but couldn’t even leave a mark.

"Is this still a prop?" Dong Jingxuan, dining elegantly, seemed surprised that someone like Xu Huo would carry children’s prop clothing.

"Bought it for the kids at home." Xu Huo pushed a plate of food towards the boy, then said: "Your last name is Dong? When I came to District 002, I met a brother and sister with the surname Dong from Snow City, not sure if they’re your relatives."

"What are their names, single or double characters?" Dong Jingxuan showed some interest, "If they are players from Snow City, they might really be relatives."

"Single character."

"Then they’re distant relatives," Dong Jingxuan nonchalantly said, "In my family, only daughters who marry out and have children with the surname Dong use single characters, although they bear the Dong family name, distant relatives aren’t really significant... Did you have a conflict with them?"
