Chapter 960: Chapter 960: Don’t Make Personal Attacks When Fighting

At the top floor, a Mental Interference Prop was placed. From the outside, it looked like it took up the entire space of over ten square meters; in reality, it was only thirty centimeters tall, cylinder-shaped, and spinning on its own, with no one around.

Xu Huo didn’t rush down but instead observed the layout of this floor.

The Bird Tower looked old from the outside, but the floor inside was made of a dark gray metal, bordered with two layers of copper rings. Directly above, the ceiling was hollow, nearly the same size as the area within the rings.

The Bird Tower was wide at its base and narrow at the top, its shape somewhat resembling a cone... He squatted down to touch the metallic floor; it seemed quite thin.

"Tap, tap." Soft footsteps sounded from behind him. Xu Huo stood up and turned around to see a woman leaning against the staircase railing, tapping the heel of her high heel and surveying him with an amused smile.

"You’re not a player from W37, are you?" The woman stopped tapping her raised shoe, stepping up from the stairs in one stride, hands behind her back, and briskly walked along the copper ring, "How did you find this place?"

"Is that question important?" Xu Huo raised an eyebrow.

The woman stopped walking and turned to face him, suddenly letting out a "pfft" of laughter, "You’re right, the process isn’t important. It’s the result of you standing here that matters."

She tilted her head, making a playful gesture that didn’t quite match her seductive appearance, "What to do, I don’t like this outcome. Can I ask you to leave?"

The "Eye of the Deceased" appeared in his hand, Xu Huo looked down at the eye that was slightly open, "Sorry, I don’t plan on just walking away."

The woman’s expression grew more serious, and with a stamp of her high heel on the ground:

Starting from beneath her feet, golden metal bars sprang from the ground like sentient weapons, shooting towards Xu Huo and circling around him to form a spherical blockade.

Xu Huo dodged the incoming metal bars and took a step back, then leapt forward in a swift motion, cutting through the bars of the cage in front of him with his sword, while also releasing the props "Balloon String" and "Halt if Not Advancing," attempting to trap the woman.

The woman was quick to react and had moved away from the spot before he acted. At the same time, she gestured a pushing motion towards him: "A polite refusal!"

This time the "Heavy Protective Color" failed to immunize against her power, and Xu Huo was pressed against the wall with immense force. The woman, cautious, did not approach, but with a wave of her hand, a blade two fingers wide flew out, aiming straight for his neck!

"Moving Metal" caught the blade’s attack thrice in succession, and before the effects of the thrice-repulsed blade prop faded, it spun around and stabbed towards his thigh!

Xu Huo’s eyes sharpened and he abruptly moved sideways as the blade flew towards him, and with a sword swing in mid-air: only a crisp "clang" was heard as the blade was cut in two. Before the disabled metal fragments hit the ground, he threw the "Core of Luminescence" towards the stairway, and with another slap sent the woman flying.

Originally, the woman was standing opposite the staircase, but the "Divine Slap" sent her crashing right into the range of the "Core of Luminescence." However, before she could escape from the light, Xu Huo had already appeared in front of her!

The woman’s gaze changed, and as the "Core of Luminescence" ceased to be effective, a small gold umbrella sprung open above her head, directly catching the "Eye of the Deceased."

The "Eye of the Deceased" was a Rank-B prop, unlike ordinary props. It could directly destroy other props, and though its killing range was wide, it was easily blocked by defense props like the "Crimson Sword," which made it more practical. The fact that it didn’t destroy the gold umbrella indicated the high rank of the umbrella.

After a brief exchange, they both retreated. Unlike Xu Huo’s scrutiny, the woman was a bit angry when she saw the scratches on her umbrella, "This is my favorite prop!"

"The umbrella is quite pretty," Xu Huo said indifferently, pausing before adding, "But don’t worry, once there’s a similar gash on your head, you won’t care about it anymore."

No sooner had he spoken than he moved swiftly through space, closing the distance between them. The space on the top floor was cramped, and without the option to retreat, they clashed in close combat. They fought for over ten seconds, exchanging scores of blows and sustaining minor injuries.

However, during the scuffle, Xu Huo noticed the woman was deliberately protecting the Bird Tower. Of course, he also held back, not using any high-damage props to destroy the building, but that didn’t prevent him from using this to probe the woman.

Retreating to the wall, he glanced down intentionally, then thrust his sword into the ground!

"Surfing on Flat Ground!" The woman immediately tossed out a bar of soap which slid perfectly in front of Xu Huo. Due to an irresistible force, his foot slipped just right onto it, and he uncontrollably slid backward, crashing into the nearby staircase!

"For your damn head!" Before the soap under his feet disappeared, a helmet fell from the sky. Xu Huo immediately saw the blades embedded on the helmet’s edges. After deflecting it with "Concentrated Air," he used "Standardized Weightlessness" on the woman close behind, and while she was momentarily airborne, he struck her with a slap, sending her flying.

When he flipped back onto the rooftop and warned the woman to "Watch your face," he activated the "Eternal Brand." Six spots of light chased the woman’s face. After she blocked it several times, she couldn’t help but exclaim, "You’re so despicable...!"

She hadn’t finished speaking when her right hand instinctively moved to her ear in a phone-answering gesture, and then she saw Xu Huo’s face close in. But as she moved to retreat, she felt a hand clutch the back of her neck!

Her pupils tremored violently, and she smeared her clothing button: "Strong Woman!"

It was as if an extra layer had been added around her neck, blocking Xu Huo’s hand and preventing him from breaking her throat. In the next second, the person under his grasp slipped away and fled toward the staircase.

Xu Huo was about to pursue, but as he stepped forward, he withdrew his foot — a pair of scissors appeared out of thin air, snapping close right past his forehead!

"Hmph!" The trap prop she had secretly set didn’t work, and the woman uttered a dissatisfied sound. Turning to Xu Huo, who was looking up, she challenged, "Come on up if you dare!"

Xu Huo gave a faint smile, stepped forward, and appeared in front of her, then asked, "Did you hear something?"

Humans tend to unconsciously react to others’ questions. The woman initially paused at Xu Huo’s inquiry and then quickly changed her expression, plugging her ears with a prop and throwing a smoke grenade to the ground.

The "Murmur Sphere’s" mental interference might be a bit sensitive and difficult to succeed against an advanced player, but it was different now that the woman was in Xu Huo’s spiritual world.
