Kaidan Game Train: Abide Rule or Die!
Chapter 956: Biochemical Weapon

Chapter 956: Chapter 956: Biochemical Weapon

He was obsessed with Dr. Wu and claimed he wanted to create an Evolution Potion different from those distributed by the Game System. Along the way, he had been through three laboratories, all ending in his termination.

Six months later, Luo Changren took a different approach and found the remains of a common ancestor at W37 Base Station. He carried out race-specific gene modification, which was opposed by the entire base station. After fleeing to other zones, he returned a year later and announced that he had successfully developed an Evolution Potion that allowed rapid evolution for everyone at W37 Base Station.

Doubts: It has yet to be confirmed whether there is a Gene Evolution Agent specific to Base W37 City. According to post-event investigation, the outbreak in Base City 06 occurred right after A1 Laboratory hired Luo Changren. Several laboratories believe that Luo Changren’s claim to achieve race-specific evolutionary gene modification is simply not possible.

This concludes the first page, the second page is missing, and among the entirety of the document, there’s only a report that seems to conclude:

The SE virus is confirmed to be highly contagious with irreversible aftereffects, which will be inherited by the offspring of the infected.

Putting down the report, Xu Huo quickly reviewed the other related data on the SE virus, which largely matched what Teacher Ai had said: Once the contagion began, the virulence of the SE virus would slowly decrease until it reached a minimal level of dormancy.

However, concerning genetic inheritance, many laboratories remained skeptical, simply lacking samples. Moreover, for the living, a virus that was gradually losing potency wasn’t worth the effort and resources to study.

In the end, A1 Laboratory was also sanctioned; almost all of its research results were securely destroyed, including setting fire to the building itself. Most of the scientific personnel ended up in prison.

Of course, if Xiong Qing could end up as a Security Guard at W37, it’s possible that not all the other researchers were truly behind bars.

Now, this was interesting.

The destruction of A1 Laboratory’s samples, including specimens W11 and W37, suggested that the original samples of the SE virus were likely not destroyed. These two base cities were probably complicit and stored the samples not for vaccine research but rather for a lethal intent.

To Xu Huo, calling it murder was putting it too mildly.

After picking out the materials about Dr. Wu and Luo Changren, he proceeded to the next warehouse, collected usable items, and then found the sealed laboratory that Xiong Qing had mentioned.

Indeed, there was Antitoxin in the laboratory, but unfortunately, it wasn’t for the original SE virus but for the twice-weakened SE3 variant.

Just knew those two weren’t telling the truth.

"Drip!" Shangguan Xi’s second call came in.

"Go ahead," Xu Huo answered the phone.

"Do you have a map of W37?" Shangguan Xi asked with a hint of strangeness, "Those two have been circling a place known as Bird Tower for quite a while."

Xu Huo recalled a bit, "Bird Tower is near an old district, the main road before W37’s expansion. The Bird Tower and three other buildings in the same district are all part of the demolition and reconstruction plan. How can you be so sure they are after Bird Tower?"

"Brother Xu is truly knowledgeable, even about the layout of W37," Shangguan Xi started with a compliment before moving to her main point, "At first, I wasn’t certain either. After splitting up with Pan Qiao, we noticed several Players on Bird Tower, who didn’t seem like the Law Enforcement Team. The situation outside has already become chaotic because of the R1 Laboratory incident, and these few individuals haven’t budged. They’re strong; I reckon Teacher Ai is afraid to approach because of them."

Teacher Ai and Xiong Qing weren’t entirely lying; at least they truly sympathized with those infected by the virus. They fabricated the Antitoxin in R1 Laboratory to sidetrack him—neither would leave W37.

Regardless of their reason for going to Bird Tower, clearly, the base’s government also regarded it with great importance. A non-Player and a Grey Player who had stagnated would nearly find it impossible to break through the defenses. Judging by their determination, they seemed resolved to try their luck anyway.

"If they’re caught, find out where first," Xu Huo said.

"Those Players are quite formidable; I won’t be able to stop them if they decide to kill," Shangguan Xi paused and then asked, "Are they significantly related to the side quest?"

"They’re key to clearing the quest," Xu Huo didn’t elaborate, "Just don’t lose track of them."

After cutting off the communication, he located R1’s virus cold storage, casually picked out two Rank-A and three Rank-B virus samples for his carry-on, and was about to search for samples of Mutant Plants when a shout pierced through an unknown corner:

"Your accomplice has been caught; we know you lack Biochemical Weapons. If you leave the lab now, W37 will let bygones be bygones."

This voice must have been delivered through a Prop; it could be heard clearly from any location in the laboratory. Because of this clarity, it was evident that the person was grinding their teeth with rage as they spoke.

The base’s government had surrounded several laboratories and sealed off nearby streets for inspection. After the first sweep failed to reveal any trace of foreign Players, they realized they had been deceived. The Biochemical Weapon attack might have been a feint.

Just as they were preparing to widen the search, Bluebird TV Station’s people caught someone—a Player merely used to buy time!

The temporary command center hadn’t received any reports of other attacks, which made it easy to guess that someone had infiltrated the lab during the chaos.

The player who issued the warning might not be very strong; they might not even possess any Biochemical Weapons, and had simply tricked the base’s government into a tizzy with a single lie—not a soul who wasn’t furious and itching to retaliate!

Now, they didn’t dare launch a full-scale attack—the Biochemical Weapons in R1 Laboratory were real.

Of course, by the time offers were being made to negotiate, a Player had already slipped into the lab quietly.

Xu Huo knew someone had entered and brought a basket of Rank-A and Rank-B Potion to the main control room.

The surveillance system inside the laboratory was already under the government’s control. He didn’t attempt to reactivate it; instead, he picked up the broadcast microphone and smashed two Potion against it.

The distinct sound of shattering glass traveled through the internal line to every corner of the lab. Xu Huo donned the clown suit and spoke with a laugh, "Ladies and gentlemen, what you just heard was the sound of two Rank-A Potion breaking. Over the next few minutes, depending on my mood, I’ll smash nearly a hundred more. The door to the control room is open, feel free to come and witness."

Then he tossed two more vials.

The Player who entered the lab was led by Duck Tongue Cap, who shouted through his horn Prop, "You’re dead, kid!"

"Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack! Crack!"

The reply was a series of glass tubes hitting the floor, accompanied by the shrill alarm of automatic warning!

"Biochemical Weapon leakage, preliminary danger assessment level A!"

"Biochemical Weapon leakage, preliminary danger assessment level A!"

"Biochemical Weapon leakage, preliminary danger assessment level... upgraded to Super A-Class, all lab personnel please evacuate immediately!"
