Chapter 955: Chapter 955: Attack Warning

As one of the top media companies in Base W37 City, Bluebird TV Station had already received news about the quarantine zone outbreak. Now, everyone in the station, from top to bottom, was preparing to break major news, equipment was in place, and the host, dressed and with a solemn face, had taken his position in front of the camera. Just as he was about to start the countdown, suddenly, a woman with a pale face burst through the wall. She waved her hand, and the doors to the studio were firmly sealed shut, trapping the staff members who were familiar with player attacks, leaving them with no chance to escape; they could only stand rigidly in place.

"Don’t worry, everyone," said Kuang Wenjun. "We just want to use this place for a moment."

Xu Huo had already positioned himself behind the host, patting his shoulder to signal him to move aside.

The host hastily moved aside while Xu Huo scanned the entire room, finally fixing his gaze on a middle-aged man with a potbelly. "Are you the station manager?"

The middle-aged man, trembling, came forward, and in an effort to calm himself, he pressed his lips together tightly. "Yes, I am."

"I would like to use your channel to broadcast a message," said Xu Huo.

"No problem!" the manager quickly responded, and then assured, "I’ll ensure the broadcast is accurate. Our station has a dedicated broadcast line that even the government cannot shut down immediately. Whatever you want to broadcast, I will cooperate!"

Xu Huo nodded, took a pen and paper, and began to write while speaking to Kuang Wenjun. "Stay here to ensure the message is broadcast smoothly. After the message is aired, try to delay the Law Enforcement Team players for three minutes. If it exceeds this time, you can leave without having to confront them to the death."

Without asking what he was about to do, Kuang Wenjun placed her Spatial Artifact inside the broadcast room.

Seeing the artifact deployed, two female staff members nearby started crying out uncontrollably but were immediately silenced by colleagues covering their mouths, fearing to provoke Xu Huo and Kuang Wenjun, which could endanger their lives.

Xu Huo glanced over there, handed the note to the host, and checked the time. "Let’s start in half a minute."

The host’s hands trembled violently as he held the note; Xu Huo steadied his arm. "If you can’t do it, we can find someone else."

The host broke out into a cold sweat and frantically nodded. "No, no need! I can do it!"

Seeing his dedication to his job, Xu Huo said no more and nodded towards Kuang Wenjun before leaving.

After he had left, Kuang Wenjun signaled the host to step forward and addressed everyone present. "Please cooperate with us, remain at your stations and do not attempt to communicate with the outside, as it might not save you but could provoke me."

After confirming no one was attempting any tricks behind her back, she stepped aside, allowing the station manager to begin the broadcast.

Despite his trembling face and quivering lips, the host, maintaining professionalism, recited the opening phrase and then moved on to the main message. "A gentleman has sent a message to our station, entrusting us to announce and repeat a strike warning three times to the W37 government."

"Five minutes after this warning starts, I will deploy a Biochemical Weapon in R1 Laboratory. Please, W37 government, evacuate the laboratory staff as soon as possible!"

"Five minutes after this warning starts, I will deploy a Biochemical Weapon in R1 Laboratory. Please, W37 government, evacuate the laboratory staff as soon as possible!"

Indeed, as the host nervously announced the attack warning, the senior officials of W37 government had already received the broadcast in a temporary command center.

After hearing the first announcement, the temporary chief commander and the head of the Law Enforcement Team started organizing players to capture those at the TV station and to evacuate laboratory staff.

Biochemical Weapons were considered the Achilles’ heel of the base stations; ever since the SE virus incident, almost all bases had established emergency procedures. The first rule was, under any circumstances, to seek refuge at the first sign of a biochemical weapon or suspected biochemical weapon. Prioritizing safety over everything else was most crucial.

Thus, Xu Huo’s "attack warning," although specifically mentioning R1 Laboratory, led the Law Enforcement Team to evacuate several surrounding laboratories as well. The emergency doors of all laboratories were sealed, and hundreds of remotely operable detectors were deployed, with no less than fifty players using props to create a triple-layered defensive wall outside the blockade area, completely sealing it off!

And all this was achieved in less than three minutes. While a large number of players were being deployed to search near the laboratories, the TV station was encircled by the Law Enforcement Team.

The Law Enforcement Team began their assault on the TV station. After Kuang Wenjun let the studio staff out, she activated her Spatial Artifact. Anyone approaching the TV station was immediately sent away. She wasn’t skilled in melee combat, so using the Spatial Artifact was a better way to buy time. However, it was different from Base City W19, where there were only about a dozen players; here, the Law Enforcement Team’s players were relentless, and frequent spatial shifts also imposed a great strain on her.

After resisting six waves of player attacks, she checked the time—only a minute and a half had passed, and the number of players outside seemed to be increasing. Biting her lip, she doubled the range of her artifact. "Xu Gou, you’d better hurry!"

Xu Huo had already entered R1 Laboratory.

Of course, the more chaotic the situation, the easier it was to infiltrate, so when the base government began evacuating personnel, the usually tightly secured laboratories were easy to sneak into.

The vast laboratory was empty except for him. He first went to the control room to shut down the surveillance, casually taking a internal layout diagram with him.

This diagram differed slightly from the one Xiong Qing had given him; a few areas had been modified, and two spots marked as Rank-A virus sample repositories were actually data archives.

Xu Huo didn’t rush to the sealed laboratory that Xiong Qing had specified but first entered the data archive.

Unsurprisingly, he found some documents related to human experiments—these archived documents, all preserved in paper form, were somewhat haphazardly placed and seemed to have been neglected for a long time.

He quickly found the file on the SE virus in a box.

Although marked "Top Secret," the box containing the documents was broken, and the documents inside were visible from the corners. Upon opening it, the top page was an identity profile:
