Chapter 940: Chapter 940: Another Evolution of the Spiritual World

For Ren Man, fifty thousand was an unattainable figure, but to the staff and Gao Xiaoyan, being able to maintain stability at a certain value was far more valuable than a high number. This meant that Xu Huo had mastered the control of his psychic power to such an extent that he could manipulate it freely. Typically, most individuals would become unstable when approaching their limit; his stability thus indicated that he was still some distance from his limit.

The staff were still incessantly asking Xu Huo for advice, but Gao Xiaoyan interrupted them, "Mr. Xu has other matters to attend to; let’s start the lesson."

The location chosen for the lesson was in the woods along the road that led to Base City.

"Releasing Psychic Power externally is not easy to control; to truly affect others, you need a specific place or certain props to help," Xu Huo said as he took out the worn-out "Severance Gate" with an unchanged expression. "This is an auxiliary prop. First, try to connect with your Psychic Power, if you can sense my Psychic Power, then we’ll move to the next step."

Ren Man hesitatedly glanced at the almost broken prop but decided to suppress his doubts and tried to mobilize his Psychic Power.

Successful evolution was a hurdle, releasing Psychic Power was another, and only after that could one open the Spiritual World to directly affect reality with Psychic Power. Xu Huo obtaining the instance from the Seventeenth Hospital was only the first hurdle; it was Bai Kou using her own Spiritual World to guide him that enabled him to quickly grasp the next threshold.

This was not to say that the first step was easy; compared to subsequent steps, the first lacked direction; one might not even know in which direction to exert effort. Xu Huo succeeded in one go, benefited from the hospital itself being a special Mental Interference zone.

After watching Ren Man struggling with the useless prop for five minutes, Xu Huo finally released his own Psychic Power and successfully drew the other in, then said, "I will create an illusion; you find the key yourself."

Xu Huo opened the door for Ren Man but did not reveal his own Spiritual World. Instead, he created a new illusory space, simulating Bai Kou’s Spiritual World. Countless chains instantly filled the entire black space, with gears of varying sizes meshing together like numerous sealed doors.

All the "doors" in front of him looked identical; only after opening a "door" would the Psychic Power stack, and with more "openings", the Mental Interference would intensify and the difficulty of "opening" would also increase. Whether he could breach the critical point depended on Ren Man’s luck.

He watched Ren Man repeatedly "open doors", but after just four or five times, the man was showing signs of fatigue, facing increasingly larger chains before him, he seemed utterly unsure where to begin.

It was normal; breaking through a locked door was certainly difficult, hence the need for flexibility in creating and opening one’s own doors.

Seeing Ren Man attempting to climb onto that giant chain, Xu Huo’s eyebrows twitched, and he timely reminded from the side, "You can create your own door."

Sweating profusely, Ren Man struggled down from the chain and looked around, not seeing Xu Huo’s figure, he shouted twice, "How do I create a door?"

"How can you create a door out of nothing?"

Nobody responded to him, so Ren Man simply sat down to rest. He stared at the countless chains in front of him, feeling a bit clueless as to where to start; clearly, repeatedly opening chains was not the answer, but he really didn’t know how to make a door...

After sitting there for a while, he suddenly looked toward the black ground.

The ground was not really the ground, but a flat expanse in the illusion; of course, what he saw might be fake, but things in the Spiritual World are inherently fictitious.

Ren Man closed his eyes; a few seconds later, a black hole appeared where he was sitting, and he along with it fell into it.

Of course, he had not really fallen underground, but through the black hole, he had reached another part of the Spiritual World, equivalent to opening a door once.

Xu Huo was standing next to him, noting the ground’s black hole with a bit of surprise, then soon saw a section of a monitoring pole emerge from where the black hole was. He could tell it was a surveillance pole because it had a monitoring camera on its top which also moved. It swiveled in his direction for a moment, paused for a second, then moved away normally.

That one second pause made Ren Man realize that he stood beside him, immediately twisting his head to look toward his position, but the next moment he began to doubt, "Mr. Xu, are you here?"

Xu Huo found the appearance of items in his Spiritual World quite intriguing.

Ordinarily, when just undergoing Super Evolution, items in one’s Spiritual World are incomplete, which is also part of the evolution process. It requires the individual’s own power to strengthen for completion. He nearly completed the construction of his Spiritual World in the psychiatric hospital—a library; normally, the process should be like that of Ren Man, piecing together bit by bit.

Ren Man’s door could so far only allow one person through, his Spiritual World encompassing just a corner, his perception range not large, but the camera enhanced this power, allowing him to capture his own position momentarily.

It was like taking a peek outside the door from inside.

If the Spiritual World were seen as a room, then Ren Man had just successfully glimpsed the scenery outside the window.

This was quite interesting.

Xu Huo’s opened Spiritual World could reach a hundred-meter range, which didn’t mean that launching a Spiritual World would necessarily cause the library to appear first. Initially, welcoming guests would certainly involve Mental Interference, unsuccessful at first, then followed by the further step of the library. This indicates he had invited the guest into the room from the beginning.

During his initial bout with Bai Kou, what he first saw was Bai Kou’s door, and never directly entered the core part of Bai Kou’s Spiritual World until the last encounter using the "Door of Idealism," where he then saw the gears—he initially thought it was because Bai Kou’s Spiritual World was excessively large. After all, the size of the Spiritual World cannot be compared to reality; being slightly bigger could be worlds apart.

But now he had somewhat of an epiphany, not just about the size of the Spiritual World, but also that Bai Kou had layered another Spiritual World outside her own.

In simple terms, there was another room outside the room; guests first entered the first room and never touched the core, that is the gears—the Materialized Items of the Spiritual World.

Bai Kou initially advised him to protect the Materialized Items because they symbolize the essence of Psychic Power. He could at best hide the Materialized items in the library stash, but this was nothing compared to hiding them in a completely separate room. Moreover, the Spiritual World wasn’t just a bigger room containing a smaller room; he felt it was more akin to two overlapping spaces, hence he could use the "Door of Idealism" to locate her Materialized item.

To see beyond the realm of the Spiritual World... Xu Huo stood still for a moment, lines of a Vertical Pupil forming behind him.
