Chapter 931: Above the Wilderness
Chapter 931: Chapter 931: Above the Wilderness
The gloomy sky was illuminated on one side, and under the harsh electric light, all players instantly dodged that area, but as the sound of the car’s destruction arose, the lightning gradually weakened.
The scene was suddenly silent.
This was clearly not normal.
The premature countdown to ambush the players wasn’t normal, and the fact that no player ran out of the car after a counterattack was even more abnormal. Anyone capable of moving in the wilderness was no ordinary person; having the confidence to deal with so many players, it made no sense that they lacked even basic fighting skills.
"There seems to be something in the air." Pan Qiao suddenly inhaled through his nose, then the next second, he covered his mouth and nose, "Don’t smell it!"
The people in the car quickly put on protective masks, and as Shangguan Xi was about to go out and see what had happened, a face fiercely pressed against the car window. The gruesome appearance combined with the sudden impact instinctively made him lean back, and the next second, several car doors automatically opened. Except for Teacher Ai in the driver’s seat, everyone, including the live samples, flew out of the car.
"There’s someone!" Zhu Feiyun alerted the others while throwing a colorful triangle that exploded mid-air, scattering multicolored powder in all directions, quickly outlining the shapes of two people.
"Revolving Lantern!" Pan Qiao moved back to Kuang Wenjun’s side, pulled out a roll of tape, and the automatically swirling tape encircled and trapped the two partially visible players inside.
However, the confinement didn’t last long. Two breaths later, the tape split down the middle, and a long hammer with a small head smashed down towards Pan Qiao and Kuang Wenjun.
The hammer didn’t fall quickly, but the two, as if their feet were welded to the ground, could not move. The pale-faced Kuang Wenjun then threw a quickly expanding white ball from behind. In the blink of an eye, the ball, now taller than a person, blocked the falling hammer.
Kuang and Pan swiftly moved out from under the prop, but as their perspective shifted, they only saw one player remaining in front; the other had already gone over to Shangguan Xi and Zhu Feiyun’s side.
Both attackers were wearing protective gear, and even though the colored powder revealed their tracks, it didn’t show their faces, which somewhat limited the props and characteristics that relied on "hearing" or "vision." After his "Morning Rush Hour" had failed, Shangguan Xi couldn’t help but express his surprise, "Could they have blocked their hearing?"
"Who cares if they have or haven’t, kill them first!" Zhu Feiyun had already donned a jester costume. While it wasn’t as convenient to move around here as in a city, his own movement wasn’t a problem. Flying behind the player, he struck at the player’s back with a knife.
It was unsurprisingly blocked. The player, whose face remained unseen, turned and extended a hand, and what must’ve been a previously buried long spike prop shot out from all directions!
"Full wrap!" Zhu Feiyun used a rubber ball to block this prop, then raised his hand towards the opponent, pulling him into a field of chaotic gravity.
Like Shangguan Xi and the others, these two attackers were also not suitably adapted to the slightly weightless state, their forms wavered slightly when they acted, but it was far from being completely upside down. They moved at high speed, and Zhu Feiyun missed several times.
"The light inside the blind path!" Pan Qiao took the opportunity to move behind the two and, aligning the three in a straight line, raised a guide cane.
Once the prop activated, a light ribbon several tens of meters long appeared under the trio’s feet. Those on the ribbon couldn’t step off, but those outside could come in!
"Great opportunity!" Zhu Feiyun threw out several colorful balls. With the "pop-pop" of exploding sounds, as ribbons flew out, everyone involuntarily looked up, and he sharply descended, chopping down with his longsword at one of the player’s necks!
"Crack!" The sword landed on an invisible defense prop, but Zhu Feiyun seemed to have already anticipated this opportunity; he reached towards the player’s chest with his palm, in which there was a white magnet—In the next second, a white Mitsubishi Spike pierced through the player’s heart and stuck to the magnet!
Successfully killing one, the others naturally turned their attention toward the remaining one.
The effect of the "Blind Trail" had worn off; the person raised an arm to brush off some colored powder from his body, which immediately disappeared, and he successfully went into hiding.
As he disappeared, Shangguan Xi and the others’ props were already greeting him, but they apparently missed.
The moment they lost sight of the enemy, Zhu Feiyun threw several colored triangles, but they didn’t work like the last time.
Kuang Wenjun was carried back to the car by Pan Qiao, and after standing firm, she placed down a small potty, "Fallback."
Not far away, a minor collision seemed to have occurred, Pan Qiao immediately locked onto the position and rushed up, slashing wildly twelve times into the air, and only after his knives missed did he turn to Kuang Wenjun and say, "The person isn’t around here."
Kuang Wenjun was just about to nod, but she immediately sensed an unusual presence nearby, she pulled her sleeve and revealed a hospital wristband, "Treatment in progress, please do not disturb!"
The feeling of a sharp blade behind her seemed to fade, but she quickly realized something was amiss and abruptly turned to look at Teacher Ai inside the car, "Don’t—"
Before she could finish her sentence, a sword punctured through the windshield and was embedded in the seat next to Teacher Ai, blood dripped from mid-air as Xu Huo already stood on the hood, glanced at Teacher Ai, then reached out to pull out the sword.
The invisible player collapsed into the seat.
Two players near their car had been handled. These two weren’t very strong but weren’t weak either; thinking they could handle a two-versus-four was indeed overestimating them, so they were just a distraction; the real action wasn’t here.
The true target was the car behind, where the sky was flowing with abnormal snow, occasionally accompanied by flashes of lightning and crashing sounds, indicating a fierce battle.
Sensing disturbance on the ground, Xu Huo signaled Teacher Ai to drive after throwing out the bodies.
Shangguan Xi and the others also hurried back to their car, but when the car started, it was already too late, the ground under the tires slowly lifted, forming a huge ramp.
"Buzz!" Teacher Ai held the steering wheel tightly as the car slowly slid backward, facing the increasingly steep slope, he urged Xu Huo and the others to find a way to secure the car.
But by the time Xu Huo and the others got out, the rising slope suddenly stopped, then began to sink back toward the ground.
"The other side is rising!" Kuang Wenjun alerted everyone.
The entire slanting slope seemed to split in two, high on this side and low on the other, sinking here and rising there, like a giant seesaw moving people and objects side to side.
The man with a lightning tattoo on his head slid towards Xu Huo and the others with the shifting ground, placed his silver-gloved hands on the ground, and rapid bolts of electricity swiftly shot upward, while halfway another player threw a person-high standing mirror into the ground, and another tossed an iron ball into the high clouds!
"Crack!"
