Chapter 911: Spatial Lines in Ore

Chapter 911: Chapter 911: Spatial Lines in Ore

The people inside the vehicle, including several players, were shouting to run quickly. Hesitating, Teacher Ai glanced at Xu Huo, who was still gazing straight ahead, bit her teeth, and accelerated towards the wave of sand!

The manually operated off-road vehicle proved to be the perfect tool for crossing the desert. Even under such resistance, the vehicle still moved smoothly forward—of course, this was also because they were farther away from the explosion site.

The explosion range of the "Little Mushroom Cloud" was one thousand meters in radius. To be safe, Xu Huo went a bit further. Judging from the impact of the explosion, there was absolutely no danger where their car was, and they could proceed at full speed without any problems.

The sandstorm that was stirred up wouldn’t stop anytime soon. After driving at an increased speed for a while, Teacher Ai circumvented the area near the explosion site. Never mind traps or props, even the desert had a deep pit carved into it, with a huge mushroom cloud faintly visible, not submerged by the returning sandstorm for a moment!

They had been traveling along the edge of the sand dunes. Looking out the window, they had a perfect view of the mushroom cloud, which resembled a small, dried-up lake beneath them.

"Goodness, this prop would be quite effective for creating lakes or altering oceans," Shangguan Xi remarked, staring at the deep pit. "And there’s no radiation pollution."

After his comment, he excitedly added, "With this kind of prop, we could just blast our way through!"

"Use your brain, and you’ll know that such a prop must have a cooldown period," Ding Wei said, staring at Xu Huo. "How could you possibly blast all the way through?"

Xu Huo was unconcerned with her probing and nodded, "It does have a cooldown period, but it’s only a day and a half until we reach W19 Base City, which isn’t long."

At this point, Shangguan Xi turned to her and said, "We’re all in this together. You don’t expect Brother Xu to handle it all alone, do you?"

Ding Wei tugged at her lips but said nothing.

Surprisingly, in the time that followed, they encountered no incidents, neither humans nor Aliens.

"Perhaps the previous explosion scared them off," Teacher Ai suggested.

However, when they were preparing to find a place to spend the night, they unexpectedly stumbled upon an area with signs of battle. Two damaged off-road vehicles were overturned in the sand, with numerous large Alien corpses and human bodies nearby, along with small animals attracted by the carrion.

Xu Huo and the others got out to check. The vehicles were so damaged as to be unusable, and the people were dead and clean. However, they had left behind some energy blocks and food.

"This must have been an exploration team from another Base City," Teacher Ai said, looking at the items they had brought back. "They were out scavenging for resources."

Xu Huo noticed that in addition to ore, there were some crop seeds in the pockets and remarked, "Can’t crops from other zones be planted at W37 Base Station?"

With players as a conduit, why choose a distant solution over a close one?

"It’s not that they couldn’t, but for large-scale cultivation, you need plants that can grow in this soil," Teacher Ai said, pinching a few seeds, rubbing them between his fingers, then putting them back. Turning to Gao Chunfeng, he said, "Take these items to Base W37 City tomorrow."

Xu Huo’s destination was W19 Base City, while Gao Chunfeng and the others didn’t need to make the extra trip, so they were to disembark along the way.

Gao Chunfeng naturally would not refuse, "Anyway, they had no identity documentation."

The next morning, they had to part ways. Before leaving, Gao Chunfeng thanked Xu Huo, and Gao Xiayang, who was slightly more lively, took the initiative to approach him, "Brother Xu, you’re a good person. I’ll remember you."

Xu Huo patted his head.

After the vehicle started up again, the two people in the back seat still eyed Xu Huo intermittently, seemingly distrustful that he would rescue someone without wanting anything in return, and somewhat suspicious if he had conducted a private trade with Gao Chunfeng.

Xu Huo pulled out the map. The complete desert zone would soon be behind them, and ahead was the Gobi known for its energy mines. The map marked many deep pits, likely remnants from mining operations.

Once past the Gobi, there was a transition zone, and beyond that was W19 Base City.

Base City had three gates; the south gate faced Base W37 and was sure to have the most players coming out of it. They definitely couldn’t take this route, so Xu Huo planned to first circumnavigate to the back of the north gate, hide the vehicle, and then enter Base City.

Teacher Ai unconditionally complied with his arrangement and even mentioned an underground facility outside the south gate of Base 19 City.

"There was supposed to be an underground city built here, but after digging down, they found a nest of mutated ants. Even after burning out the ant colony, it couldn’t be reused. Filling it in took too much time and effort, so they covered it with bridge planks instead."

"How large an area is covered?" Xu Huo asked.

"Including the south gate, it’s about half the city’s width, slightly to the right. It’s over two hundred meters long front to back, and about fifty to sixty meters deep," Teacher Ai knew these figures by heart.

After realizing Xu Huo was eyeing this area, he warned, "Inside W19 Base City, the damage is severe. Forget manually operated off-road vehicles; even finding energy blocks might not be possible. Taking out the car would surely attract other players’ attention."

Live samples couldn’t be stuffed into the luggage bay; they needed tools for transport.

Thinking over the map silently for two seconds, Xu Huo finally said, "We’ll deal with that when the time comes. The three samples might not still be in W19 City."

Successfully entering the Gobi Zone, all around were signs left by past energy mining operations, with even some mining equipment lingering, though it was inoperable without kinetic energy.

"What kind of energy was here originally?" Shangguan Xi grew interested. "Some energy ores can be used to make props. Even if not, some high-quality ore can fetch a good price!"

"It must have been drained, otherwise, why would the people of Base City abandon it?" Zhao Jiahua commented.

After a while, Xu Huo asked Teacher Ai to stop the car. Getting out, he picked up some stones discarded near the mining wells.

Since Shangguan Xi was tasked with protecting Teacher Ai and couldn’t wander far, she stood by the vehicle and asked, "Brother Xu, what are you doing with these useless stones?"

Xu Huo was still examining a stone in his hand.

From the Nüwa Stone to He Pu’s Secondary Stones, and perhaps other Primeval Stones he may or may not have seen before, along with a myriad of other ores, he had familiarized himself with no fewer than two hundred types of stones. Before, a stone was just a stone, but after his Secondary Evolution, these stones began to show subtle changes.

Take the Nüwa Stone, for example; previously, he couldn’t be sure whether this was the kind of original Primeval Stone like "Time Origin" that could grant ordinary ores special properties. But now, compared to He Pu’s Secondary Stone, the difference emerged. The Secondary Stone He Pu gave him was likely an ore containing special properties because space lines passed through this stone very densely, nearly forming a strong strand, whereas the Nüwa Stone barely differed from ordinary ores, and ores kept with it for long periods didn’t change much either. This meant that the Nüwa Stone wasn’t of the Primeval Stone type like "Time Origin."

But now, the ordinary ores he held in his hands distinctively differed in spatial lines from other ores. He relaxed his grip and gazed into the distance: could it be that the energy ores here originated from Primeval Stones?
