Kaidan Game Train: Abide Rule or Die!
Chapter 592: Joining the Organization is the Right Choice

Chapter 592: Chapter 592: Joining the Organization is the Right Choice

The situation was urgent, so the person in the gray-robed had no choice but to nod.

Huang Junjie hesitated to stand still, but Xu Huo said, "Follow along, there’s only death if you stay here."

A shiver ran through Huang Junjie, and he followed involuntarily.

The group passed through the dark passage, taking the elevator to the underground parking garage. The second underground level was sealed off. Through the shaded doorway, Twin Snakes members drove off in cars and rode off on motorcycles, leaving the resort as quickly as possible.

Of course, they didn’t take the same main road they had come in on.

Xu Huo deliberately lagged behind to let Huang Junjie cycle with him, making calls to the others one by one.

Only Guan Sheng picked up the phone and immediately asked where he had gone.

Xu Huo asked in detail about the situation at the garden and after a pause, he said, "There was just an explosion at the resort; didn’t the Special Defense Department receive the message?"

Guan Sheng and Qian Xuwen had contacted the Special Defense Department immediately upon leaving the resort. However, the local officer in Water City had been drawn away for an emergency rescue half an hour earlier and was still on the way.

"Zhou Ning is missing, go look for him."

"What about your situation?" Guan Sheng asked.

"Don’t worry about my side, just go find Zhou Ning," said Xu Huo before promptly turning off his phone.

Huang Junjie was puzzled. "Why not let the Special Defense Department help with the investigation? You must have come here to find the Twin Snakes’ real den."

"The local branch of the Special Defense Department might not be trustworthy," Xu Huo said, then asked him, "How did you get here?"

"I came with the chairman; he received an invitation," Huang Junjie said, "The people who came with you have left, maybe he left too, after all, he’s not the one Twin Snakes is looking for."

Xu Huo chuckled. "Do you believe that?"

Changing the location of the gathering, adding one-fifth more people midway, dispersing and then gathering the players before making private deals; this series of maneuvers was actually only to cover up one thing—the number of players attending the gathering was dwindling.

During the statue viewing, Xu Huo had switched masks and wristbands with Yan Jiayu. The number on the wristband was also a selection method aimed at separating the true invited players. He had previously asked the numbers of a few white masked players, and like Yan Jiayu, they were all fives.

Through Guan Sheng, he learned that after conducting a private deal in the garden, Yan Jiayu was nowhere to be found. She definitely wouldn’t have left on her own, and even if she had been attacked, it shouldn’t have been so silent. Moreover, Guan Sheng and his colleague didn’t find any traces of a fight. It’s possible that she had entered a random instance.

The entrance to random instances that could move like an Awakening Doll isn’t unheard of, or rather, some place in the resort could be an entrance.

From the perspective of those with white masks, Twin Snakes’ several screenings might be for the purpose of categorizing players; strength, mental quality, evolution rate, and player level could all be factors for selection. Twin Snakes couldn’t possibly understand every player, which is why they held coarse classifications.

Some were taken away by Twin Snakes, some left after an ordinary gathering, some disappeared during the gathering, and in the end it all focused on the numbers on the wristbands.

"Player number four had gone to the seventh floor and came back, while Brother Liang had initially followed to check out the situation but didn’t return," Guan Zuhong also called several times to Brother Liang. The two players who had been with Sima Xiao’er and Big Head returned safely, but Brother Liang’s whereabouts were unknown.

"How many people were left in the venue when the final gathering disbanded?" Xu Huo inquired.

"Less than eighty people," Huang Junjie stated confidently.

"What numbers were Tan Yang and Pu Kang?" Xu Huo continued to inquire.

"One, two."

The three of them, including Huang Junjie, covered six numbers in total. Six had the most, with seven people, counting Guan Zuhong and Xiao Zhang who joined unintentionally; five left successfully, with only Zhou Ning and Brother Liang’s whereabouts unknown.

There were only two number fives; Xu Huo had come to the white masks in place of Yan Jiayu, while Sima Xiao’er had become the "White Envoy."

Number four was missing, while three included Guan, Qian, and Huang Junjie. The first two left successfully, and Huang Junjie’s situation was similar to Guan Zuhong and Xiao Zhang’s—they couldn’t leave.

Number two was Yan Jiayu, who took his place, and Pu Kang, another individual; both disappeared.

There was only one Tan Yang, who also remained unaccounted for.

Leaving number four aside, among the other numbers, Twin Snakes’ targets were obviously on "one," "two," and "five," with "three" and "six" merely being decoys, much like the players from the Special Defense Department who came in, took a quick tour, and then left without much notice if one or two went missing.

"Tan Yang and Pu Kang, are they Cannibal Players?" Xu Huo pondered and then asked Huang Junjie.

"Of course not," exclaimed Huang Junjie in surprise, "Do you think their disappearance is related to Cannibal Players?"

"Can’t be sure. Pu Kang is a Level D player?" Xu Huo asked again.

"He’s not, but his evolution rate is high, and his family is quite wealthy. He bought two good artifacts through relations with the Special Defense Department," Huang Junjie replied. After a moment of silence, he couldn’t help but ask, "Do you think Twin Snakes’ prediction of the future is true or fake?"

"Nowadays, even street fortune-tellers don’t use cheap crystal balls; that’s just an artifact." An artifact can hardly predict a person’s future, especially when it’s being distributed wholesale, allowing anyone to test it. It’s just a scam.

"I think most of the players present today might be Twin Snakes members," Huang Junjie said coldly. "They don’t need to select anyone; they just need to bring players who aren’t their own."

"There are, but there shouldn’t be too many," Xu Huo calculated, aggregating to more than a dozen people. "Twin Snakes’ meetings are very safe" is also a perception that needs to be promoted.

Although lacking complete information, from the overall picture, "two" and "five" appeared to be the stronger and weaker groups, respectively. The only surprise was Yan Jiayu, a versatile player assigned to the weaker group.

However, if he assumed his line of thinking was correct, this would be normal. Twin Snakes could only make rough divisions and couldn’t possibly follow their plan to the letter, just as he and Yan Jiayu switched places, and Huang Junjie’s group was swept into the restaurant.

"Why not take this opportunity to leave?" Huang Junjie asked hesitantly. "Since the savior’s matter is fake, Twin Snakes must have other motives. With this kind of setup, there might be someone behind it."

Compared to Twin Snakes’ organizational strength and actionability, the officially recognized First Association seemed to be playing around. But the more it appeared so, the more it indicated Twin Snakes was not to be underestimated, unlikely to be the work of just one or two players.

"You won’t be able to leave," Xu Huo pointed forward, "See those grey-robed people? They’ve been using artifacts, and anyone who breaks away from the group will be dealt with."

"Since you’re here, settle in. You entered the restaurant with Sima Xiao’er; you won’t be able to leave. Escaping will be useless, and right now the best way to save yourself is to join the Twin Snakes Organization."

"Congratulations," he smiled. "You’re about to juggle two positions, shining brightly within the Player Organization."
