"No use anymore!" Zhuo Wangsun jumped up from the ground and opened his protective suit, "The ground isn’t any better, despite these high stones blocking the way, the temperature hasn’t dropped at all!"

"The high temperature in the Stone Forest Labyrinth isn’t because of the sun’s rays." Xu Huo looked up at the sky and then touched the ground, pausing before he dusted off the ash from his hand.

It was impossible to sleep in the extreme heat, so after a short rest, the three of them continued on their way.

They encountered a few people along the way, all of whom dragged their weary steps, conversing not at all, only moving forward in silence.

By midnight, there were a dozen more warriors joining Xu Huo and his group, almost all of whom had removed their protective suits, trudging slowly with their feet glued to the ground.

Xu Huo too had reached his limit, his protective suit practically soaked with sweat, and just as he had shaken off the water after taking it off, a barrage of gunfire suddenly erupted ahead of them.

People at the back began to run in all directions. When Xu Huo grabbed his sword, he saw Zhuo Wangsun and Jin Dong running in another direction. He drew his sword, killed two aliens chasing them, and followed.

"Give me a hand!" Zhuo Wangsun kicked away an alien that was lunging at him and yelled up to Jin Dong.

Xu Huo pointed with his chin at Jin Dong, "Take a closer look at him."

There, Jin Dong, hanging on the stone pillar in a squat, had ripped off his head hood, and as soon as his body was exposed, his head turned into a thermal image under the holographic glasses.

"He’s turned into an alien!" cried Zhuo Wangsun in shock.

Now, not only to him, in Xu Huo’s eyes too, Jin Dong’s appearance had undergone a massive change; his face was turning white, cracks appeared in the skin on his forehead, and when he scratched at it, his hair began to fall out in large clumps.

Xu Huo threw a potion at his face from a distance.

After the bottle shattered, Jin Dong licked at the potion that flowed out for a bit, then continued to climb up the column, stopping only after reaching a certain height. He then turned his head to stare directly at Xu Huo and Zhuo Wangsun hanging in mid-air.

"He won’t jump over here, will he..." Zhuo Wangsun hadn’t finished voicing his concerns when Jin Dong indeed targeted them and sprang forward!

Even with such a distance between them, Jin Dong’s bouncing power after his transformation into an alien was alarming. Xu Huo pulled out his Water Cutter Gun and hit his shoulder.

Xu Huo tossed Zhuo Wangsun onto a higher nearby rock platform, then hauled someone up using a kite string.

"Save me! Save me!" The person who was pulled up clung to the string and kept climbing up, shouting as he climbed.

Zhuo Wangsun reminded Xu Huo from a distance to be careful, but Xu Huo didn’t move, just observing the body details of the person below.

Jin Dong had been infected for over a year, and after taking the potion, his consciousness was temporarily restored, yet upon entering the Stone Forest Area, he turned into a Split-head Alien Species. These people had symptoms appearing in less than ten minutes on their hands.

Jin Dong had long been infected and suddenly regressed after arriving here, but he hadn’t been injured.

Other injured warriors started to regress rapidly.

The only common factors between the two cases were soil and air, which meant that apart from direct infection by the Alien virus, certain elements in the air or soil could also induce transformation into an Alien.

The person clinging to the rope gradually ran out of voice, but he was still desperately climbing upwards. Just as he was about to grab Xu Huo’s foot, someone suddenly leaped down from above the rock column!

Xu Huo retracted the kite string and moved aside; the person who jumped down didn’t tangle but somersaulted in midair, using a tool to grab onto the rock column, then, propping up the gun with one hand, opened fire at the Different Species Group below, killing even those amidst them who were showing signs of Alien transformation.

"Hey! Those people are still alive!" Zhuo Wangsun couldn’t help but shout.

Unfortunately, no one listened to him, and then two more people jumped down, hanging in midair and began cross-firing at the Different Species Group.

The fierce Different Species Group was quickly killed in droves, with the survivors scattering in all directions. But with bright lights flashing in the distance, those Aliens, seemingly afraid of the light, again hid and retreated. Eventually, nearly all were killed by the three armed warriors.

Cen Lu was the female warrior who dragged away Jin Dong’s body.

Gao Peng laughed heartily, "There are still clean places in the cleaning area. Since we’re all here, we’re companions. Welcome to join us!"
