Kaidan Game Train: Abide Rule or Die!
Chapter 526: I’ve Never Seen Such a Weak Player

Chapter 526: Chapter 526: I’ve Never Seen Such a Weak Player

Yi Mao and his companions were tasked with clearing the area demarcated on the map provided by the government. This was their basic task, and only upon completion of the clearing could they consider the task finished, after which they could return or choose to extend their task to additional areas.

Turning back now was out of the question. They were wearing glasses, and perhaps everything that had just happened had been transmitted in real time to the logistics department. If they wanted to go back, their only choice was to carry out the task as originally planned and remain silent upon their return.

"That’s the only way," Liang Song agreed, giving Xu Huo a glance. "Fortunately, we now have two Level D Players."

Two Level D Players meant two luggage compartments, and the water and food they carried should be enough to sustain them until the task was completed.

Xu Huo nodded slightly to show he agreed with him.

"But what about him?" Yi Mao was referring to Jin Dong.

Jin Dong had no chance of returning to Clown City, and he had already begun to mutate, possibly losing his sanity at any moment and attacking others. If anyone was bitten or scratched, they would face the same desperate situation of not being able to return to the city.

Killing him was the best choice.

Jin Dong seemed to realize this and involuntarily took a step back.

"Let me speak fairly," Xu Huo stepped in front of him and said to the others, "He’s a living person. We can’t just kill him because he might turn into an Alien. We do run a risk, but we need to maintain our humanity. If we can’t even do that, we shouldn’t talk about protecting our homeland or our families."

Liang Song and Yue Weiping were players who could leave the clearing area at any time, but they dared not. Their families were in Clown City, and if they just left like that, their parents or children might be the ones sent to clear the area next time.

They weren’t pushed to that extent yet. Neither Yi Mao nor Wan Xiao spoke up, only Yue Weiping made a preemptive point, "We can spare him, but we can’t take him with us."

"Really, you would leave someone to die?" Xu Huo feigned surprise and raised his eyebrows, "Before leaving the city, I heard all of you talking about taking back our homeland, but you’re ready to abandon your own compatriots at any moment. I guess whether or not we take back our homeland doesn’t really matter... Well, maybe everyone in the clear zone is your compatriot."

"You...!" Yue Weiping exploded in anger, but was stopped by Liang Song who said, "You don’t have to provoke us. We’ll bring him along."

"Brother Liang!" Yue Weiping couldn’t help but protest.

Liang Song signaled him to stay calm, "He has ventured deep into the clearing area, and knows what’s inside. Having him with us might help us avoid certain dangers."

Seizing the opportunity, Jin Dong wrote, "Past the swamp is the jungle, where most of the clearing tasks are located, along with areas densely populated with mutated species."

After reading this, Yue Weiping hesitated for a moment but eventually nodded in agreement.

The six of them resumed their journey, with Jin Dong voluntarily taking the lead and maintaining some distance from them.

Different from the Gobi Zone they left behind, they didn’t go far before they encountered a second attack. This time it wasn’t Aliens attacking them, but other warriors also participating in the clearing task.

A player surfing above the swamp on a skateboard shouted loudly as he flew over their heads, casually firing a few shots at them and demanding, "Give us your food and water, and we’ll spare your lives!"

Five or six other skateboarders then started weaving around them.

"These are all players!" Liang Song shielded Yi Mao with his body, "Everyone be careful!"

"And there’s an Alien!" one of the skateboarders noticed Jin Dong crouched up ahead. With a flick of his board, he charged towards Jin Dong and laughed, "Haha! Ten thousand White Bills!"

Jin Dong’s gun had been confiscated by Yue Weiping. He was exhausted, but managed to get up and run a few paces forward. However, he couldn’t outrun a player using a prop, and as the assailant raised his gun, Jin Dong threw himself forward, rolling into the mud. Suddenly, something warm drenched him; he wiped his face to see that the player who had been chasing him had fallen off his skateboard, decapitated!

Apart from the dead player and Jin Dong, everyone else saw very clearly. A thin ray of light had flown across the air, slicing off the player’s head, and the one who made the move was Xu Huo, who was standing not far away!

Xu Huo didn’t glance at the dead, turning his head to kill another skateboarder who was passing in front of him, and then used kite strings to reel in a third person, yanking him off his board and tossing him into the swamp.

It seemed like it was just a few blinks of an eye, and three players were killed. Both friends and foes were so shocked they were lost for words, while the remaining four skateboarders, forgetting about avenging their comrades, turned around and fled.

Unfortunately for them, Xu Huo had not planned to let them get away. He took out the prop "Lament of the Plants," and the piercing, shrill noise of the attack caused two of them to fall off their boards. One was particularly unlucky and plunged headfirst into the swamp, getting buried up to his upper body, and the other didn’t dare to rescue his companion, instead he picked up his board and tried to escape. But then a voice came from behind them.

"I’m short of a skateboard."

The player looked back at Xu Huo, abandoned his skateboard, and ran off.

This time, Xu Huo didn’t relentlessly pursue them, instead he picked up a nearby skateboard, "With this thing, we should be able to cross the swamp area easily."

Yi Mao and the others didn’t know what expression to wear, and after a prolonged silence, they started picking up skateboards on their own.

Up ahead, Jin Dong had picked up the two skateboards and returned. Xu Huo gestured for him to give them to Yue Weiping.

Yue Weiping didn’t want to get close to Jin Dong, so he had him throw the skateboards on the ground and back away.

Jin Dong looked angry, but he didn’t dwell on the issue.

"Five skateboards," Yi Mao looked at Xu Huo, but then he picked up another board and threw it to Jin Dong, "The players I just killed had spare ones."

Jin Dong quickly thanked him and gazed enviously at Xu Huo.

Xu Huo glanced at him, "You want to become a player?"

Jin Dong first nodded and then shook his head.

Xu Huo understood but said, "Even if you become a player, it doesn’t mean you’re strong. Those players just now showed you that. I’ve been doing copies for so long and I’ve never come across Level E players that weak."

Indeed, Xu Huo had killed several players effortlessly without even giving them a chance to fight back, and the fallen players did seem quite weak.

Yi Mao was very interested in this and pursued the subject, "Has Big Brother Five been to many game sectors? Are those places very different from Clown City?"

Xu Huo paused for a moment and said ambiguously, "Actually, there isn’t too much difference. You could ask Liang Song."

Liang Song had only completed one Level D Copy, and it was by sheer luck, but he recognized talent when he saw it — Xu Huo had just shown his strength.

"There’s not much to envy about copies," he said. "The death rate is very high, and it’s not uncommon for a copy to end with no one left alive."

Yi Mao wasn’t a player and didn’t have any substantial feeling about this.

Xu Huo told him, "The clearing area is also a copy, and the same applies here."
