Chapter 514: Chapter 514: The Passive Human Wave Tactic

The initial two strikes didn’t injure Yuguo; he immediately applied a potion to the wounds. Although it failed to restore his vision, his other senses remained intact, so even as Xu Huo moved at his quickest pace around him, he found it difficult to inflict further injuries on Yuguo.

However, Xu Huo also noticed another thing: as he reduced the space, Yuguo stopped releasing the virus, and he himself had put on a full set of protective gear, which was completely different from when he previously used bacteria.

"Two forms?" For safety, Xu Huo pulled back a little. Not only did he use protective gear, but he also put on an "Oxygen Supply" on the outside, while bringing more monsters to this floor. After repeatedly draining Yuguo’s traits and props, he gradually grasped a pattern.

First was the transformation of small-sized objects into sharp weapons. Although the frequency of usage for this ability was high, it wasn’t without limits; it required at least a thirty-second interval between each use. Additionally, he invariably held the scalpel in his hand when using this technique. Therefore, it might be a combination of a trait and a prop.

Next was disease transmission; as Bai Kou had mentioned, he could release bacteria through his own hands. The bacteria he previously released upstairs would usually only contaminate a very small area around the touch point, and he should be immune himself.

But the bacteria he used for self-rescue proliferated very quickly, a close comparison being the speed at which a basin of water spreads upon hitting the ground. Moreover, after releasing this kind of virus, his palms turned black, and he also put on protective gear.

Additionally, the prop he had stitched under his wrist that could turn metal into dust didn’t seem to have clear limits; he could use it continually and control the size of the destruction range freely. However, this device met its match against Bai Kou’s metal; although it could damage the metal to some extent, it was far from completely dissolving it.

He also had other attack and defense props, but they were not as handy as these three.

Since Yuguo was blinded, his judgment was somewhat compromised. When he tried to dissolve the floor or ceiling to escape, Xu Huo used illusions to mask his sense of touch, replacing the area above and below him with doors without his knowledge, gradually deepening the effect of the illusion.

But a Rank-B player’s combat capability wasn’t for show. If it weren’t for the effectiveness of the metal wall, the entire hospital building would likely be demolished by him. Moreover, high-level players had no shortage of useful props; within just a few minutes, he almost whimsically used props, and on several occasions even used a prop to drag Xu Huo out from behind a wall, especially one searching device, a square plate, which was supposed to display the number of people within a certain range—if it were not for the fact that he was blind and had to fumble around, Xu Huo would probably have suffered more than just an injury.

Left with no choice, Xu Huo had to widen the gap between them again, sending over both Red Bracelet and Black Bracelet from the ship.

As time went on, most of those remaining on the ship had been affected by the instance to some extent. Even if their spiritual power was strong, if they couldn’t completely break through when faced with monsters created by other people’s illusions, they would still fall prey to hallucinations.

So when Xu Huo draped a doctor’s coat over Yuguo, some players who were already at their limit and just wanted to clear the level didn’t hesitate to charge at him.

Most of these people lacked combat experience, but they were numerous and had many props. Yuguo killed quite a few and was also seriously injured. Additionally, with his eyesight gone, and no one on the side of Red and Black Bracelets recognizing him, when he turned the tables and began hunting the players down, those who wanted to retreat had no choice but to fight desperately.

Blood and bodies soon covered the corridor floors. Yuguo was caught by a flying lock from a player, which chained one of his legs to the metal on the wall. Yet, instead of using the subcutaneous prop, he switched the scalpel for a long sword and chopped the prop apart.

Noting this change, Xu Huo altered the portals again, releasing more monsters behind him. The newly created batch of monsters had a new feature—they were immune to certain bacteria. This wasn’t something he had thought up, but rather, a trump card unintentionally forged by the relentlessly advancing players.

The type of bacteria that Yuguo himself was immune to had no effect on the imagined beings, and after releasing the bacteria twice more, his entire hand turned pitch black. From that point on, he refrained from forcibly using bacteria and instead resorted to melee with sharp weapons, finding the "scalpel attack" conveniently resourceful.

"After killing nearly fifty people, his traits and props should be bottoming out by now!" a Red Bracelet, wrapped in a jelly-like transparent substance, charged at Yuguo with a sprint.

Yuguo deflected the attack with a defense prop, but another player attacked him from the left side using a trait, "Dismantle Arm!"

In an instant, his left arm went limp.

Yuguo’s speed had greatly reduced compared to before, but he still held an advantage against these few players. He raised his hand and swept the debris on the ground toward the player on his left, then abruptly changed direction in mid-air, charging straight at the jelly player in front of him, skewering him with a thrust!

"Passionate Fireworks!" Another player backed him up from behind, pulling out fireworks. There were several bangs, and a shower of sparks burst around Yuguo. Despite escaping from the encirclement immediately, he lost a piece of defense prop. Before he could land safely, two more players suddenly attacked from the front, one throwing a watermelon at him, while the other shouted, "Air Friction!"

The trait activated first, visibly slowing Yuguo down as if the air friction had suddenly increased. His previous speed was so fast that the abrupt stop deformed his protective suit. Before the trait’s effect ended, the watermelon exploded on him, spewing juice that turned into a thick red slime, sticking his limbs together!

"Good opportunity!" A Red Bracelet waiting for the moment immediately pounced on him, ready to finish him off. But Yuguo suddenly burst out a strong gust of wind, not only blowing off the slime but also breaking free from the suppression of the trait. Unfortunately for the Red Bracelet, he was struck by the wind into the wall and the next second had his neck sliced open by the scalpel.

Perhaps realizing that continuing the struggle was meaningless, Yuguo retreated after dealing with the Red Bracelet.

When he ran, the other surviving players hesitated and did not pursue. It seemed that Yuguo had exhausted himself considerably, but when apparently cornered, he could still break free unexpectedly and kill several of them. Continuing the chase would only result in further casualties. With so many already dead, they did not want to be next.

Xu Huo understood their mindset, so he sent over another group of people.

The exact number of people a few hundred meters long ship could hold wasn’t counted, but there were certainly many wearing Red and Black Bracelets. Depleting Yuguo’s combat power was not an issue.
