Chapter 502: Dismantling the Ship
Chapter 502: Chapter 502: Dismantling the Ship
On the eighth deck, a tattooed strong man with his upper body bare squatted by a completely transparent swimming pool and scratched his head, saying, "What’s the matter, you got a beef with us?"
"No," Bai Kou’s gaze swept over the people around the strong man, including Captain Matt.
The Captain Matt who was in charge of transporting arms, Veyson Meni who acted as the dealer, Ran Ying of the Black Epaulette, representing the cooperative party, and three noble elite players who came for a vacation and incidentally to witness this arms deal.
There were quite a few nobles on board, but most were only participating in the unrestricted hunt; only a minority were privy to the Rongxin Group’s arms deal.
Just now on the tenth floor, an elite player of the nobles had clashed with Bai Kou, neither side inflicting much damage; however, when Yuguo expressed an interest in Bai Kou, Zone 011 cleared a space.
"With no grudges past or present, sister, why the big temper," Yuguo parted the seagrass that swept across him, and from the point of contact, the seagrass began to rapidly wither and age before crumbling, then retreating from the tip back to the root, destroying a large swath of it.
Jiang Feng’s sister, who had been using the seagrass to attack Xu Huo, turned around and saw the seagrass withering in large areas and immediately launched an attack on Yuguo with the seagrass.
However, this man in a floral shirt who appeared slack, struck hard; in a flash, he appeared behind her and with a small scalpel, cut open her throat.
Xu Huo saw clearly that when Yuguo approached, Jiang Feng’s sister had already used a defense prop instantly. Whether it was due to a significant difference in their speeds or the defense prop’s lack of strength, the scalpel clearly slashed through a membrane-like barrier before her throat, but this barrier hardly caused any delay, which is why she was killed without being able to fight back.
Upon her death, the gathered seagrass immediately collapsed, and Yuguo looked up at the people on the eighth floor and said, "Captain Matt, how about you clean up these things of yours? They’re not much use anyway."
Captain Matt chuckled, and the next second, the ship began to transform. The seagrass returned to the ground and walls, the mottled hull gradually became shiny and new, even the vanished seventh deck was restored, and the overall volume of the ship was increasing... The ship was undergoing another round of transformations!
Xu Huo, still outside, immediately returned to the ship, rushing in before the seventh deck sealed up. After landing, he glanced at the constantly dividing and changing walls, noting that the distance between everyone had widened.
Previously, falling from the seventh to the sixth deck, including players hiding on the sixth deck, wasn’t too difficult, but after the ship’s second change, the layout inside slightly altered. Some people immediately vanished into rooms that appeared out of nowhere or behind the hallways, and he himself was pushed toward the window by the growing floor.
Xu Huo looked at Bai Kou, who stood still in the same spot, then turned and ran toward the newly formed hallway, avoiding the sight of both parties.
The metal bar that killed Jiang Feng just now was probably not by chance; Bai Kou might have lent a hand. It looked like she intended to take on the Guile Sound Knights and Zone 011 players by herself. Although he wasn’t sure how strong her abilities were, if the two sides started fighting openly, it would be the low-level players like them who would suffer the most.
He was not the only one to see this. Taking advantage of the ship’s transformation and neither Bai Kou nor Yuguo making a move, the other players were scattering to hide in other areas, some rushing towards the elevators to go upstairs.
Among them were Black Bracelet and Red Bracelet players who had been joyfully engaging in the hunt.
Jiang Feng and his sibling were nobles, but Veyson Meni and the others just watched them die, and Yuguo could easily kill a noble if he wished, which showed that their lives were not of much value in the eyes of those high-level players upstairs. The only solution was to hide in a safe zone.
The only place that could be considered safe at the moment was Captain Matt’s area.
Most of the White Bracelet players chose to go downstairs. The starting point was simple: the upper floors might be destroyed, but this ship would definitely not capsize entirely. As long as Captain Matt was still there, the lower floors would be even safer.
"Aren’t you going down?" Xu Huo was walking towards the space when a Black Bracelet player who had been fighting several Red Bracelet players suddenly stopped him.
Xu Huo glanced at him, "I’ll stay up here to watch the excitement."
The Black Bracelet noticed that the color of his bracelet had also changed, said nothing more, and silently walked away.
Xu Huo originally planned to stay on this floor, but unexpectedly, at this moment, a powerful force suddenly erupted from the ship’s center beyond several walls, immediately destroying the newly formed seventh floor. The explosion of the ship’s body carried a massive force, shaking the entire vessel!
Xu Huo took out the "Severance Gate" to protect himself, but still couldn’t resist the force. He was pushed back by the accumulating walls, the exterior window glass had already shattered, and he, along with the Black Bracelet and some other players, were forced to retreat to the window side, hesitating whether to go out when suddenly a scream came from below.
Turning back, the sea area below had somehow turned into boiling black water. Two players who tried to escape to the sea’s surface using props found their props dissolved as soon as they touched the water. After climbing up with the help of flying devices, they were smacked back into the sea by a tentacle that suddenly stretched out, not managing to escape.
The scream came from another player splashed by the seawater; the black water melted away half of his shoulder. His companion didn’t manage to grab him in time, and he fell into the sea, barely causing a splash.
The same tentacle that killed the two players emerged again from underneath the water, dripping, and swayed gently in the air as if stretching its body. The creature’s part exposed above the water was over ten meters long, not to mention those continually rising from below. In an instant, the sea surrounding the ship was occupied, trapping the vessel in the center.
"Don’t go out!" the Black Bracelet player urgently warned: "These are mutant giant squids, and they’re mating now. Anything that appears on the surface will be attacked!"
"Then why haven’t they attacked the ship..." another player had not finished speaking when a vibration came from the stern of the ship; it seemed like the squids were hitting it, but thankfully, not too fiercely.
But that was enough to scare the players out of their wits.
"This ship must be coated with a special potion," the Black Bracelet player spoke calmly, "Since we have to pass through this area, Zone 011 must have made the necessary preparations. There’s no need to worry about the ship capsizing; if it does, we’re all dead!"
"How do you know all this so clearly?" Selin suddenly appeared.
"It’s common knowledge." The Black Bracelet gave him a look, "Pay attention to the news, and you would know. Zone 011 often captures mutated species from this sea area; how could they possibly not have a method to avoid large mutated marine creatures?"
