Chapter 500: Chapter 500 Forcibly Withdraw
The Red Bracelet player, who had rushed to choose the door that Jiang Feng had set his sights on, didn’t manage to exit either. Instead, he found himself facing the same multi-door setup as before, with identical doors in every direction, clueless about which way to go. Thus, he turned around and retreated to the silver door he had come from, only to find, regrettably, that even upon returning the same way he came, there were still countless doors behind it.
"I can’t get back to where I was before," the Red Bracelet player realized with regret at this moment. If he had followed Jiang Feng, even if they had taken a wrong turn, there would have been a chance to turn back. Now that he wanted to return, he couldn’t. And his mistake meant that the door Jiang Feng went through must have been the correct one.
"He must have deliberately led me to choose this door so he could make his exit!"
Feeling he had been tricked, the Red Bracelet player, annoyed, glanced at the doors surrounding him, clenched his jaw, and randomly charged through one.
After passing through several doors in quick succession, the number behind him seemed to diminish, and silver doors appeared once again. He hastened forward joyfully towards one, only to suddenly notice another silver door at a distance, through which Jiang Feng’s figure briefly appeared before darting into the adjacent door.
Without a second thought, he followed.
"Mr. Jiang!" As the environment kept changing, with the solitary doors progressively transforming into a world filled with various framed paintings that one could also enter, the Red Bracelet player followed Jiang Feng as he moved from one door to the next or from a door into a painting.
Observing his nimble movements, the Red Bracelet player became even more convinced that Jiang Feng had found the way out. He couldn’t help but speed up and call out to him, not expecting Jiang Feng to ignore his calls. Instead of looking back, Jiang Feng quickened his pace.
"Damn it!" cursed the Red Bracelet player as he hurried to keep up, ignoring his surroundings and running for several minutes before stopping because the world of doors had dramatically transformed; now, there were libraries in every direction — front, back, left, and right.
The moving library was like a continuously rotating drum, one layer over the other. Opening a door still revealed a library — not just in the front, back, or sides, but even sometimes above and below. Caught off guard, the Red Bracelet player felt the ground fall from beneath him and plummeted downwards, fortunately reacting quickly enough to grab the edge of the floor in the nick of time.
However, he couldn’t climb up as the library began to shift places at high speed, flinging him around without offering a point of leverage, causing him to occasionally lose grip and drop down a level, with each fall causing the room above him to shut again.
With the Red Bracelet player struggling, Xu Huo turned his attention to Jiang Feng.
Being sharper than the Red Bracelet player, Jiang Feng had started searching for other exits halfway up the flights of stairs that led to nowhere, soon realizing the path might be a dead end.
This was an illusion created by the Spiritual World, with no real exit. But after groping around on the stairs for a while, Xu Huo modified the staircase and opened a door on it.
Finding the door didn’t elicit the previous joy in Jiang Feng. Instead, he entered cautiously, and upon discovering it led to a library, he let out a cold chuckle and pressed hard against his chest.
In the illusion, it was unclear why Jiang Feng did this, but in reality, he had an electric shock device installed at the chest position, which could wake one up with a strong jolt if pressed.
Xu Huo furrowed his brows fiercely. Jiang Feng hadn’t delved deep enough into the Spiritual World, and once he realized his situation, he could use other methods to wake himself up.
Leading someone into the Spiritual World could not truly imprison a person; it meant they could still use gadgets. The illusions would make them think they couldn’t open their game panel or that they hadn’t actually used a gadget but had simply made a corresponding movement. The deeper they were trapped, the more their senses and body would diverge, especially when they weren’t aware that they were in the Spiritual World. Once they became aware, it wouldn’t be so easy to be fooled again, and they could even ignore the influence of the Spiritual World and continue using gadgets!
Jiang Feng guessed that he might have fallen into an illusion, but he couldn’t use any gadgets, which led him to press the device on his chest — a simple action that was most likely to succeed, unless he had completely lost consciousness or sensation.
In reality, Xu Huo’s power wasn’t sufficient. Although Jiang Feng didn’t succeed in using his gadgets, he did manage to press the electric shock device, and the intense jolt woke him up. Opening his eyes, he saw he was still standing in the same spot, with Xu Huo close at hand. His fingertip trembled, and Heavy Rain began to fall once again!
The time they had spent in the Spiritual World was short, and the "Absolute Safety Distance" had not yet failed. Thus, as Jiang Feng awoke from the gadget’s effects, Xu Huo burst through the rain curtain and knocked him flying with a punch!
The effects of "Number Grid" had ended, but the kite string still threaded through Jiang Feng’s legs. He slammed into a wall, and upon turning around, the gadget he had just acquired suddenly fell to the ground.
Surprised, he looked at Xu Huo, only to discover that his opponent had already killed the Red Bracelet player with lightning speed!
Feeling underestimated, Jiang Feng raised his hand, revealing a palm-sized magnetic device with a tiny white energy sphere spinning between two metal plates. Squeezing the plates together, the white energy sphere shot out, expanding into a half-meter-wide tornado!
The tornado, like a whirling dart, lashed towards Xu Huo, creating a long crack in the metal ground as it extended rapidly towards him.
Xu Huo, having just dealt with the Red Bracelet player, stood outside the shelter. He tried to dodge the tornado, but as he shifted direction, the tornado hit the shelter, bounced off, changed direction, accelerated, and surged towards him!
"Absolute Safety Distance" had failed, and it was too late to dodge or use the shelter as a barrier. Xu Huo stood firm, erecting the freshly acquired "Severance Gate" in front of him!
"Severance Gate" was the same Defense Prop that the Red Bracelet player had used earlier — once closed, it recognized no one. It appeared to only block one side, but in reality, when struck, the person behind the door would not feel the shockwaves.
Just in case, he poured another Red Bracelet’s "Weakening Rubber" outside the door. This substance could even neutralize the power of a Water Cutter Gun, so it was expected to be effective.
The double-layered Defense Prop worked even better than Xu Huo anticipated. The tornado, which could tear open a shelter, only pushed him back a meter upon hitting the door. Seizing the opportunity, he unsheathed his Sword and swept it towards Jiang Feng!
Jiang Feng used a folding fan to block the Sword Qi, then rushed forward with quick steps, his hand brandishing a black leather glove, reaching out to choke Xu Huo’s neck from afar!
Mobile Metal blocked the attack. Xu Huo stowed the shelter, leapt into the air, slashed through the seaweed outside the window, and jumped out, dragging Jiang Feng with him.
