Chapter 470: Chapter 470 Unlucky

After they entered, the convoy personnel did not completely seal off the transition carriage; instead, they used a prop to create a transparent water wall between the two compartments.

The thin layer of water forming the water wall not only had defensive capabilities, but it could also automatically dismantle any defense walls the players attempted to erect within the carriage, ultimately forcing them to abandon the idea of blocking the line of sight and only seal off the remaining sides of the carriage.

On the side of the second carriage, there was still a metal wall, but the scroll in the first carriage had been replaced with a huge wooden box. It was unclear what kind of device was on the outside, but inside there was a large wheel. As Buzz Cut pushed it, the sound of mechanical movements "clicking" could be heard from the outside—at the same time, the wave of aliens had also charged onto the carriage!

The entire train hesitated for a moment as if it could barely bear the load, but it quickly resumed moving forward, though at a greatly reduced speed.

The prop in the first carriage continued to spin, creating constant sounds of flesh being pierced, resembling a meat grinder, experiencing occasional jams due to the aliens outside.

"There are too many aliens." The wheel gradually jammed up, but what was worse was the appearance of special alien species outside, causing the props in both the first and second carriages to get damaged again.

"If this continues, the train may not make it to the next station," Xu Huo said at that moment.

This was also the concern of the other players, so the Tattooed Player put on the protective mask and took out a bottle of potion.

The other convoy personnel also donned protective masks. Xu Huo had planned to give his reserve protective mask to Dr. Deng, but Dr. Deng took out two protective masks used in labs, "These are specially supplied for labs, usually not available outside; they’re the safest to use."

Taking his advice, Xu Huo accepted and put it on, then saw the Tattooed Player open the potion and blow a gas upward into the crack.

A few aliens clawing at the crack let out pained screams immediately and struggled to move away from the gap. However, the potion seemed to have another effect. Soon, sounds of the aliens outside starting to cannibalize each other were heard. Similarly, those who had consumed their own kind began showing signs of painful frenzy, and then they were eaten by other members of their kind.

The stomping sounds above indicated that the potion’s effect was spreading like a plague. Within a few minutes, a brief calm had settled over the second carriage, while the attack on the first carriage became even more ferocious.

"These aliens aren’t dumb, huh?" Weiwei said with a laugh, then released some smoke bugs through the crack. As her face turned pale, the aliens outside began queuing up to leap off the trackside—just as the train passed a spot flanked by cliffs on both sides, leaving no way back up once they jumped off.

"Now that’s better, with no paths on either side, there shouldn’t be any more aliens boarding the train..." Dr. Deng carefully peered out through the crack, but in the next second, his eyes widened and he suddenly stepped back two paces, "Winged alien species!"

Xu Huo, with his good eyesight, only needed a glance to see a flock of things flying in from outside the track, resembling prehistoric pterosaurs swooping in!

"Bang!" The first alien smashed onto the carriage, black blood and pus-green slime oozed in through the crack, falling on a nearby chair and actually dissolved a small pit into the metal surface!

"These aliens are an evolved version of mutant bats, carrying venom with strong corrosive properties capable of dissolving metal... Normally such alien species would not appear near the tracks unless they are specifically lured, normally they are not encountered!" Dr. Deng said, holding his head.

No need to say how the Alien came, but the key point was that the creatures were plastering themselves to the outside of the train car, layer upon layer like paper, in almost all suicide attacks. As they hurled themselves at the train, they would automatically spit out adhesive fluid, and even standing inside one could feel the metal outside melting!

The players in the second car showed little change in expression, but the faces of the seven players in the first car gradually became graver.

This was not just an issue of prop and ability depletion; the sheer number of Aliens being drawn in was overwhelming. It was impossible for them to kill them all or to rely on defense props to last until dawn!

In just a few minutes, the defense props of the first car had been riddled with holes by the melting fluid, forcing Weiwei and the others to arm themselves fully in preparation for a stiff fight. Just as they donned their protective suits, the first Alien broke through the defense and pounced on Buzz Cut at lightning speed!

She was slammed against the opposite side of the car, and as her protective suit made contact with the fluid, its outer layer immediately melted away. She shot the Alien in the head, but before she could even stand up straight, another Alien from outside reached through a hole in the prop and tore through her protective suit with a claw. The corrosive fluid caused her searing pain and a scream of agony, and before she could react, another Alien that had barged in pinned her down!

The other players were all entangled by Aliens, while Weiwei’s father, after killing the Alien that was on him, took out a prop that resembled a beehive. Miniature bees crawled out from it and flew onto each Alien within the carriage. With a series of "bangs," their heads were blown open.

Weiwei and the others worked together to throw the carcasses of the Aliens out and used props to patch up the holes in the carriage, but the prop that made up the car itself was already full of holes. It could stop the breach here but not there; the onslaught of Aliens was inevitable.

At that moment, Weiwei’s mother looked towards the second car. She quickly stepped forward, and when her body was enveloped in a rainbow red light, she used a knife no longer than a finger to slice through the water wall defense.

The barrier between the two carriages was broken, but as soon as she stepped in, her body was crushed into a shapeless mass of blood and flesh, and the liquid that flew out splashed all over the faces of two players following behind who wanted to take refuge in the second car!

Their faces changed color, and with no time to wipe the stuff off their protective visors, they hastily retreated.

As the Aliens entered one after another, the remaining six players were once again plunged into a fierce battle.

It wasn’t that these people were without real skills; almost every one of them had props capable of large-scale damage. The only problem was that the narrow carriage was not suitable for their wide-swinging combat style—it risked harming their teammates and didn’t allow them to fully exploit the true power of their props.

But they also didn’t dare to completely dismantle the prop forming the outer shell of the carriage, since the dimension train might pass through areas of spatial chaos. If they were to exit, they might be swept away by the airstream or Aliens, and leaving the train meant there was almost no hope of survival!

Thus, the six of them endured difficulty and remained on the train.

The fight seemed interminable, but in reality, it lasted only around ten minutes. Xu Huo could tell Weiwei and the others were consciously conserving their props, choosing to grapple with the Aliens directly. However, as a new round of high-pitched noise arose from the direction of the train’s head, a new type of Alien appeared on the train, their pairs of red eyes seeming to glow on their own!

"It’s the Butcher Carriage Monster!" Weiwei shouted from the front, "Such bad luck!"
