Chapter 460: Chapter 460: Unnecessary Transactions

"After the explosion, you took the opportunity to kill Kong Cheng. When you surfaced, you were probably planning to take Dr. Deng to the laboratory first, then deal with Chu Yuan and Gan Qing."

"With Tong Jian and Qiu Xiangdong orchestrating from outside, Chu Yuan and the others were not guarded against you, making it very convenient for you to stay or kill."

"If I’m not mistaken, you were planning to make your move last night."

Chu Yuan and Dr. Deng had already categorized Miao Yu as an enemy by the time these clear words were said. However, Miao Yu clearly didn’t intend to admit it and instead laughed, "Are you saying this to cover up the fact that you got the Potion?"

"After I killed Kong Cheng, I went ashore. You were the only one left underwater, and since Kong Hui was also killed by you, no one else could have done it."

"But there’s no point in talking about this now. You’re not in the instance and can leave Deep Blue Island at any time. I don’t want to argue with you either."

"However, I’m very interested in the Potion that the Beren Clan has been searching for. Why don’t you take it out and let me have a look?"

"This bitch thinks we’re idiots," Chu Yuan said fiercely. "She even kills her own allies. Could it be just to let us have a look?"

"What else could it be?" Miao Yu simply stored the Tang Sword in her inventory and spread her hands, "Can I forcibly keep a player with Tickets?"

The fact was, even if they came to blows, neither side could do much to the other, except for the rather unfortunate Tong Jian.

"Why bother with her?" asked Chu Yuan as he went to get the Tickets, adding, "Let’s go."

However, under the watchful eyes of the group, Xu Huo didn’t seem to intend to leave like this. Instead, he said, "Fine."

"What did you say!" Dr. Deng looked at him in shock and couldn’t help saying, "Did you really find the Potion?"

Xu Huo did not answer his question but said to Miao Yu, "I can show it to you, but in exchange, you must provide something valuable."

At this, Miao Yu’s face grew stern, "Are you serious?"

"Not interested?" Xu Huo raised an eyebrow.

After a few seconds of hesitation, Miao Yu asked, "What do you want?"

"Professor Wu’s information," Xu Huo said. "I want the details that Dr. Deng doesn’t know about."

"Professor Wu has been working at the Deep Blue Laboratory for so long, and the Beren Clan has full control here. There must be a lot of information about Professor Wu."

"You bring it out, and I can let you take a look at the Potion."

"I don’t have it," Miao Yu said bluntly. "The Beren Clan has not disclosed any information about Professor Wu to me. What I know may be even less than what Dr. Deng knows."

"How modest," Xu Huo laughed. "I think you are a person from the Beren Clan."

Unlike the Kong Siblings, those two enforcers.

"The Kong Siblings even killed Zhu Rumin, so killing one more like you is no problem."

It wasn’t until then that Tong Jian could not help but glance at Miao Yu.

Miao Yu’s expression became serious, "You are indeed a smart man, but I am not a core figure in the clan, and my knowledge is limited."

"No matter," Xu Huo said. "The information you give me might not be true, just as the Potion I show you might not be authentic."

Chu Yuan’s eyelids twitched at the side, "Is this a negotiation?"

It seemed neither party had any tangible bargaining chips. How could they start negotiating when the truth or falsehood could not be discerned?

Even Dr. Deng, as astute as he was, could not understand this maneuver.

It was clear that even if Xu Huo had obtained the real Potion, he would never bring it out. Only the items kept within the game panel were absolutely safe; taking them out would risk them being snatched away.

Such a trade would definitely put Miao Yu at a disadvantage. Of course, the information she provided might not be real, but was such a trade really necessary?

However, the person involved had a different idea.

For Xu Huo, no matter what information Miao Yu provided, he wouldn’t be at a loss because he wasn’t going to offer a real potion; instead, he wanted to use this to cover up the fact that the real potion was in his hands.

Similarly, Miao Yu didn’t expect to get a real potion from Xu Huo, but if he really had found the potion, without knowing whether she had seen the real one before, he might offer a potion similar to the real one in exchange for the information she held.

The Beren Clan had turned the laboratory upside down for years and still didn’t know what Professor Wu’s potion looked like; at least this was a channel to obtain the color and shape of the potion.

Of course, this was based on the assumption that Xu Huo had obtained the real potion.

Miao Yu wasn’t entirely unprepared either.

She took out a stack of paper documents from the luggage compartment, "This is all the information on Professor Wu that I could find, photocopies. I just need to ask you a few questions, and I can give you the information."

Xu Huo also took out a vial of P0 Evolution Potion, shaking the pale blue liquid, "I can’t be sure if your information is real. I need to flip through it at least."

"Agreed." Miao Yu picked up the documents and let her fingers glide through them from start to end in front of him before beginning to ask questions, "Is this the real potion?"

"No," he replied.

"Is this the color of the real potion?"

"Not sure," he said.

"Did you really find the potion in the wall cavity?"

"That question is not within the scope of the trade I agreed to," he responded.

Miao Yu paused for a moment, then took out a thinner set of documents, "Encrypted files, containing content that Dr. Deng doesn’t know about."

"Flipping through it would be a loss for me. I can only show you one page first," she said.

"Two pages," Xu Huo bargained.

Miao Yu showed him two pages, and Xu Huo nodded in agreement, answering the question, "No, I’ve been to that spot in the wall but found nothing."

He paused and looked towards Tong Jian, "Are you sure the traces you found weren’t left by sea creatures?"

This caught Tong Jian off guard.

"Such a big explosion, there’s no way any sea creature would return there," Miao Yu stated sternly, "You’re lying."

"You don’t believe the truth," Xu Huo replied coolly, "Go ahead and use the lie detecting tool or instrument on you to verify."

This was precisely why Miao Yu felt enraged—her intuition told her Xu Huo was lying, yet the lie detecting tool gave a contradictory result.

"Did she bring a lie detector?" Chu Yuan asked after examining the situation.

"Otherwise, why would she agree to the trade?" Xu Huo said. The actual issue was the trap; any definitive answer could potentially reveal whether he had obtained the potion. Even without obtaining the potion, it was possible to glean information about it from his answers.

"It’s the first time I’ve come across someone whom a lie detector can’t discern the truth from lies," Miao Yu exhaled deeply, "Body language, breathing rhythm, heart rate—all can expose a person’s mental activity at the moment. This method has never failed me before, yet it’s utterly useless on you."

"If you hadn’t come with a Level D ticket, I might have thought you were at least a Rank-B player or higher."

"Thanks for the compliment," Xu Huo said as he tossed the P0 Potion to her, "It’s yours now."

No sooner had he spoken than he disappeared from the spot, cutting through the air, even reaping Tong Jian’s life.

Almost at the same moment he acted, Miao Yu also transformed into a shadow rushing over. For some reason, she caught the potion instead of opening it directly, but this momentary hesitation caused Dr. Deng and Chu Yuan on the other side to disappear as well.
