Kaidan Game Train: Abide Rule or Die!
Chapter 401 Orbital Records

Chapter 401: Chapter 401 Orbital Records

"These places have harsh environments and aren’t suitable for humans or animals to live, so they’re mostly barren. You won’t see people, not even Aliens, especially near the space distortion points. You could say the train is the only safe place."

"It’s hard to discern a pattern. You can’t even tell if an Alien will appear; the train’s jostling isn’t always because of them."

"It’s not just the Aliens; there are unknown viruses, radiation, or other unpredictable dangers. That’s why high-risk instances strike fear into players."

She Ping said a lot in one breath, summarizing at the end, "After all, the tracks are part of the game too. The places we travel through are definitely within the game’s scope. Don’t even mention places that might have access to high-risk instances; even the places you can see from the train are a different world outside. Unless the train is completely destroyed, leaving it under any circumstance is unwise."

"The places we see along the rails are also part of the game..." Xu Huo said, "So, some high-risk instances are essentially cut off from the regular instance worlds, completely abandoned realms."

Not only that, some spaces are indeed uninhabitable due to their harsh environments, but certainly some are man-made. Why are there so many Aliens around the tracks, and are they really just rookie players? Maybe not.

"That’s one way to put it," Ai Jia chimed in.

"Can’t you use tickets to leave after detaching from the train?" Xu Huo continued to ask.

"It’s difficult," said Ai Jia. "My ticket is like a signal transmitter. The space near the tracks is complex; the ticket might not be able to connect to a nearby station. But nothing is absolute; luck might strike."

"If we could use tickets freely on the train, we should’ve been able to teleport directly aboard instead of going to a station first," Sun Chuan added.

"Aren’t rookie players supposed to board directly?" Wan Tingfang asked, confused.

"That’s different," Ai Jia waved his hand.

"Why is it different? Isn’t it still boarding?" Wan Tingfang didn’t understand.

Xu Huo also had the same confusion. If the trains on the tracks couldn’t receive ticket signals, then new players should first go to the station with their tickets instead of being forcibly teleported to the train to start the game.

"This involves the game’s programming, which I can’t really explain," Ai Jia laughed, "I’m really terrible at physics, things like crossing space, dimensional stations—I can’t make heads or tails of it. Of course, this knowledge is also classified."

Knowledge and technology lockdown, that’s easy to understand.

"Maybe we’ll understand more once we become higher-level players," Xu Huo said with a smile.

Wan Tingfang had to back down, sounding a bit deflated, "High-risk instances are basically sending us to our deaths."

"Even if we avoid the Aliens, mutant animals, or even viruses, it’s impossible to escape radiation. Even if we make it out of the instance, we probably won’t live long."

Cai Xiangxiang patted her shoulder, "You’re mistaken. So far, as long as people don’t die directly in the radiation zones, they can be saved once they get out. The Stellar Pharmaceutical Research Group has developed quite a few relevant potions, and players aren’t as fragile as you think. Of course, it’s better if we’re well-prepared before entering an instance."

There are always more problems than solutions. Every challenge is tackled by mankind only after it arises, so even in the game, there can never be a one-hundred-percent solution.

Therefore, the chances of surviving in a high-risk instance are very slim.

Realization dimmed on Wan Tingfang’s face; she shrank her neck and said, "I wish I could become a Grey Player."

"Keep striving," Cai Xiangxiang said. "But our base has good benefits; Uncle San Yang gets us some safe tickets."

"Is Uncle San Yang’s name really San Yang? Was it given by his parents? It’s so strange," Wan Tingfang quickly changed the subject.

"His former player nickname was ’Yang Yang Yang,’ and it was inconvenient to call, so he’s called San Yang. I don’t know his real name; maybe the captain knows. Ask him."

"I wouldn’t dare; it’s asking for trouble," Wan Tingfang quickly shook her head.

"The captain looks fierce, but he’s actually nice. If he were a little more handsome and had more hair, I’d definitely marry him," Cai Xiangxiang said giggling.

The conversation turned to laughter, while Xu Huo paid special attention to some rail duty records during his organization.

These duty records were much less numerous than those for weather or rail maintenance, but at least a third of them encountered attacks. In other words, the base dispatched personnel to handle them only after predicting the attacks.

"What will happen to those two Blood Aliens from last time?" he asked.

"They’ve been sent to the laboratory," Ai Jia replied while disposing of the square box. "Aliens like the Blood Alien carry toxins, making them valuable experimental samples."

"Are you interested in these records?" he looked up.

"I want to understand what worlds with potential high-risk instances might be like," Xu Huo stated frankly.

Wan Tingfang also looked curious.

Cai Xiangxiang and a few other members seemed nonchalant; Sun Chuan said, "We’ve looked at them before and couldn’t make sense of anything. Some distorted spaces are hard to record with instruments, and even if recorded, they’re mostly incomplete worlds, like shattered mirrors."

"Sun Chuan is right. Some records can also harm human eyes, but these have been processed, so you can look at them," Ai Jia glanced at the time, "but it’s best to do so within two hours. New files will be arriving soon."

Xu Huo indicated no problem; he joined others to clear out the old disk records before picking some to examine.

"I’ll join you." When he went to the projection room, Wan Tingfang followed, picking several disks herself.

Xu Huo had seen Uncle San Yang effortlessly control these square boxes, and he thought it might be his special ability or item. Only when he entered the projection room did he realize the entire room was a massive docking station. Bringing in a record disk was like docking it; selecting any disk was enough to play it.

This projection room could only play one disk at a time. After discussing, they decided to watch in turns, starting with a rail repair record Xu Huo had picked out—specific cases of damage caused by spatial movement.

The record itself had been processed, and the projection appeared dark and gloomy. But as the train moved forward, the space around the track shattered like a mirror. The jagged edges suddenly burst out with a bright light, and even though it was processed, the blinding glare made Xu Huo instinctively cover his eyes. However, the light soon turned into colors and softened.

In just over a dozen seconds, the light disappeared, and the scenery around the train changed into five different types.

The scenery near the track is commonly divided into the left and right sides as well as the sky, but this time after the bright light, the sky was split into three different weathers—a clear line separated sunny, thunderstorms, and overcast skies.
