Chapter 373: Chapter 373: No Random Instances in Zone 011

"It’s all for you, no need for flattery since it’s yours anyway," Xu Huo said with a smile as he patted her on the head, "By the way, I still don’t know your name."

The little girl was now easy to talk to, "I don’t have a name, but if I must have one, you can call me Pink Hat."

"So you are a hat," Xu Huo said.

Pink Hat ignored him, her hands and feet were too busy to pay attention.

Xu Huo wisely sat down to fiddle with the two new items he had purchased.

"Stuttering Malice" was a button pin that could be casually attached to clothing for use, and it had the same effect as what he had seen before, creating a 0.5-second delay, effectively a 0.5-second comprehensive defense. Of course, it was only a Rank-C item, and if it encountered an attack far exceeding the item’s capacity, it might be destroyed and naturally could not form a defense.

"Seeing is Believing" was a very small diamond-shaped object that could be directly attached to a pair of glasses. It defended against certain personal powers targeting an individual, for example, if a player used their special power on him and he discovered it in advance and could identify that person, then that person’s attack would be nullified. Liu Jia’s "Call You Out" and Chen Tu’s "Draw Ground as Prison" both fell within this scope.

He had a trait called "Friends’ Rating," which could help him capture the attention of someone in a crowd who was particularly focused on him, complementing this item well.

However, if the special power had a broad range of attack, not targeting just one person but several or a group, like his "A Sad Affair" or the "Power of Writing," this item would not be able to defend against it, but his trait wasn’t very lethal anyway.

Xu Huo had seen traits with strong offensive power too, such as Dou Shengnan of the Guile Sound Knights, who could command people to die outright, which also targeted groups. If encountered, this item would be of little use.

Of course, there would certainly be corresponding items, but at such levels, items would also seem insufficient, so traits, evolution, and items had to complement each other; lacking any one part was unacceptable.

"There are quite a few good items, it’s a pity..." He looked toward Little Pink Hat, who was trying on hats, "Do you have time to help me with something?"

The little girl turned to look at him, "Do you adults always have to exchange things of equal value when you do something?"

Xu Huo was unbothered by the implied disdain, and asked, "Do you like the candy? Want more? Would you like to have candy any time you want it?"

The little girl almost drooled, wiping her mouth she said, "You tell me, but there’s not much a child can do."

"Just a little favor," Xu Huo said, taking out "World in the Painting," "I want to put this person back into your copy."

"World in the Painting" had a shelf life of only thirty days, after which the person inside would forever become a part of the painting, equivalent to death, but different from the paintings in the art gallery. It was not restricted by the copy’s power and didn’t differentiate between day and night’s truth and falsehood. Furthermore, they had previously tested it with Girl in the painting, and even after more than a week had passed, the person in the painting could still be brought out alive.

Therefore, he speculated that within thirty days, the person inside could still enter and leave alive, but once inside, they would temporarily leave the game and also be unable to use the game panel. As a result, aside from the Desert Pinwheel that Girl in the painting took with her, Brother Tu’s personal assets were still with him.

Xu Huo couldn’t pull someone out directly either, as without the item they might just use their tickets to escape immediately. If they were inside a random copy, there would be no need to worry about that since tickets temporarily couldn’t be used.

He wasn’t in a hurry previously due to lack of need for money, and he only made this request after getting on good terms with Little Pink Hat.

The little girl looked at him in shock, "How can a child kill someone?"

"I didn’t ask you to kill anyone, just to have him hand over the money. You need money to buy candy."

What’s more important, money or a player? Of course, it was money that could buy candy, so the girl waved her hand and the Awakening Doll’s eyes began to glow.

But after a few seconds, the little girl pouted and said, "You can’t open a random copy here."

Xu Huo raised an eyebrow but then heard the abstract person who had been breathing in fresh air from inside the painting frame—although air was of no use to them now—speak up, "Changed location? What zone is this?"

"Zone 011," Xu Huo said. "When I came, I heard there were no random copies available here, but I didn’t expect it to be true that you can’t open one."

"How have you been these days?" he placed the picture frame on the desk.

The abstract person had no discernible facial expressions, but his tone was calm, "Not bad, I won’t starve or die; maybe I can live until you die."

Xu Huo gave a slight smile, "You’ve been in the painting for over half a month now, have you thought about the consequences of missing a Copy?"

The abstract person’s face froze.

Brother Tu was taken out of the Pink Hat’s amusement park Copy and put into the painting before the Copy ended, which suggests that the "World in the Painting" item can to a certain extent circumvent the Copy’s power, equivalent to leaving the Copy without clearing it through special means.

This was of course taking advantage of a loophole in the game, but once merged with an item, one couldn’t separate from it easily, or rather, it was very difficult, becoming part of the item itself, and items usually didn’t have restrictions on entering or leaving a Copy. If assisted by someone, this would actually be an emergency method to escape a Copy, although it was unclear if there was a difference between ticket Copies and random Copies.

But this likely wouldn’t completely free one from being a player; even if one could come out of the item, the probability of continuing the game was higher.

"Don’t worry, I’ll send you into a random Copy and then put you back before it ends; you might be able to completely avoid the Copy," Xu Huo said. He also wanted to try it, to see whether it would accumulate days or start a new count upon return.

"Then I’d be trapped in the painting forever!" Brother Tu yelled, "Missing three Copies means certain death for me!"

"Or I could kill you beforehand," Xu Huo’s voice dropped ominously.

Brother Tu stopped yelling, knowing Xu Huo couldn’t enter the painting, but the Girl in the painting could.

"Don’t kill me, if you change the place I can give you all my money and items! And I know a lot, it would definitely be helpful to you!"

"Are you interested in Zone 011?"

"It’s the first major area under the E27 Wormhole Point in the lower five zones; the reason there are no random Copies is because Zone 011 has a super Copy, and game zones with super Copies don’t have random Copies. That’s a privilege given to Super Players by the game!"

"Many players want to settle here, so the tickets for Zone 011 are the most expensive in the lower five zones..."

Xu Huo’s thoughts fluctuated, bouncing between Super Players and super Copies; it took him a while to calm down, then he looked towards Little Pink Hat, the little girl shook her head, "I’m just a child, how could I know so much."

There were lots of information about Copies on the internet of Zone 011, but everything that could be found directly was just superficial for outsiders to see. There was a specialized trade for Copy strategies, therefore not much specific information related to Copies was public, and super Copies were rarely mentioned, after all, they were only for a very small part of the player base.

It seemed he’d have to find some time to leave Zone 011 soon.

Little Pink Hat glanced at the man and the painting, "It’s not that I don’t want to help, I just can’t, oh. I’m going now, remember to bring me something tasty next time."

The Awakening Doll’s eyes gleamed, and the little girl, along with the snacks and clothes on the bed, disappeared.

Brother Tu’s eyes swiveled towards Xu Huo, exclaiming incredulously, "You’ve actually tamed a Copy boss! She’s the boss of Pink Hat’s amusement park, isn’t she? That sort of mischievous pink hat!"

"Tamed?" Xu Huo looked at him with amusement, "Do you think a boss from a Level D Copy would be tamed so easily?"

"Then how could she possibly be willing to do things for you?" Brother Tu didn’t believe it.

"Isn’t it normal for friends to help each other out?" Xu Huo replied, "I have a good circle of friends. Someone like you with no friends surely wouldn’t understand the advantages of having many."

He glanced at his watch again, placed the painting back into the item slot, changed into the suit he had picked out at random earlier, grabbed an umbrella, and left the room, going downstairs.

Ran Ying was already waiting in the lobby; she had changed into a wild-style black dress and heels, revealing the wild beauty that set her apart from most women.
