Chapter 339 Umbrella of Justice
Chapter 339: Chapter 339 Umbrella of Justice
Xu Huo’s demeanor turned solemn, but as he continued to probe, he found that the woman knew little about dimensional storms and the passage through wormhole points. It was sheer luck that brought her to E27 Wormhole Point, and not daring to use any more tickets, she had no choice but to hide in a secluded area.
"The third question, why are there no random instances here?"
"Because there is a base established by the Game Government here..." The woman, using her remaining hand, clung to his calf. "You must have recently joined the game and can’t be sure you’ll always get tickets. I can tell you everything I know, I can even help you complete game tasks, I don’t mind sleeping with you, as long as you..."
Before she could finish, the tips of her fingers, glinting with a chilly light, swept towards Xu Huo’s throat, "Die!"
"Shh!" The sharp blade slashed through the windpipe, and the woman in the cheongsam’s eyes widened as she collapsed onto the ground.
Xu Huo picked up the delicate scalpel that had fallen from her hand, and the game prompt sounded in his ear:
[Congratulations, Player Passerby A, for successfully hunting a wanted criminal, and obtaining a bounty of 50000 White Notes.]
"Please receive the player’s belongings next."
Xu Huo quickly opened the panel:
[Wanted Code: Human Skin Umbrella]
[Reward: 50000 White Notes]
[Player Category: Red Player]
[Player Level: Level D]
[Affiliation: E15 Wormhole Point]
[Main characteristic: Leather Coat Maker]
[Items: ①Human Skin Umbrella ②Beautician’s Tools ③Cicada Wing Scalpel]
[Additional: Rose Castle Invitation]
There were also some potions and reserves.
Before boarding, she hadn’t cannibalized; once on the train, becoming a Cannibal Player endowed her with characteristics that would no longer grow.
Able to resist the urge to binge before boarding, yet after one misstep becoming a Cannibal Player, she had fallen so thoroughly. Xu Huo felt a deep malice from the game playing with its players.
Having stored the items in his equipment slot, he briefly looked at the instructions then went over to pick up the Human Skin Umbrella. Glancing at the torn white skin on it, he decisively tore it all off and dispensed with it.
[Ding!]
[System prompt, item Human Skin Umbrella has been updated. Would you like to view it?]
He opened his equipment slot, where the original "Human Skin Umbrella" had been replaced with "Umbrella of Justice."
[Umbrella of Justice (Note 1: It has opened, it is raining, it washes away 10% of the item effects from Cannibal Players with its loathing.)
(Note 2: Since the maker is mediocre, it’s only effective on ordinary items, but has an unexpected suppression effect on Cannibal Players and also functions as storage for corpses. Note: The two effects cannot coexist.)
(Note 3: It was altered by an evil Artifact Maker using human skin, thus its targeted effect rebounded to 15%.)]
"What a pleasant surprise," Xu Huo spun the now black umbrella and thought back to the moment he set the fire. It was strange; the rain from the Human Skin Umbrella had a suppressing effect on items, but after entering this alley, despite the rain intensifying, the lighter worked normally again.
Furthermore, the woman, in her rage, might not have realized that her speed and strength had diminished. He had thought it was due to fatigue from prolonged fighting, but now it seemed it was because the Human Skin Umbrella had been burned, revealing the true function of the Umbrella of Justice.
Although the note mentioned it targeted ordinary items, it could suppress a Level D lighter, an item specific to Cannibal Players, which was nothing short of stunning.
Turning his head, Xu Huo collected the cheongsam woman’s body inside the umbrella and left the alley.

From evening, Rose Castle had been enveloped in rain clouds, the heavy layers pressing down upon the light of the lamps, making the vast castle seem oppressively gloomy.
As the time approached midnight, there were still six guests in the hall, some drinking, some playing cards, or games, but none were focused, occasionally glancing at the hanging clock.
"Ding dong!" The doorbell outside the entrance hall rang.
"A guest has arrived." The middle-aged butler went to open the door quickly and steadily.
As the front door clicked open, a young man in a suit appeared before everyone, his arm clenching an umbrella, yet his clothes thoroughly soaked; in his hand, he held a yellow Chinese rose, smiling as he handed over the invitation, "I am late. My surname is Xu."
The butler, whose temples were graying, took a pocket watch, his lips did not move, but a voice came out: "You’re not late, however, the master has personally received two guests earlier and has already retired for the night. You can meet them after breakfast tomorrow."
Ventriloquism.
"Oh? Are those two guests also in the hall?" Xu Huo’s gaze lingered on the butler’s motionless mouth for a moment, then shifted away.
"Mr. Ma and Mrs. Ma have already retired," said the butler. "There are three other guests in the entertainment room. Would you like to go and greet them now?"
"No need." Xu Huo declined the servant’s motion to take the umbrella, passing over the rose, "Please put this in my room for me."
"Would you like me to prepare some food for you?" asked the butler.
Xu Huo swept a glance at the varied expressions of the people in the living room, his eyes pausing on a baby-faced man before smiling, "No need, I’ve eaten before coming."
The eyes of the several players in the living room were all fixed on him, carrying a measure of wariness.
The baby-faced man wasn’t as composed as Xu Huo; they had encountered each other on the train, not expecting to coincidentally enter the same instance.
After a pause, he sprang up from the sofa, stretching out his hands towards the others, "You all lost, pay up!"
A dark-faced man handed him a stack of White Notes, and the rest also took out their money.
The butler was ready to lead Xu Huo to the guest room, but as they crossed the hall, the latter stopped, looking at the group and asking, "What are you betting on?"
The baby-faced man replied cheekily, "We were guessing whether you are a man or a woman, and only I won."
Xu Huo’s expression quickly darkened.
"Ha ha! Just a joke, take it easy," the baby-faced man laughed, trying to make amends.
Xu Huo’s expression remained unchanged, but his eyes were intensely oppressive.
In just a few seconds, the baby-faced man’s smile could not be maintained, as the other five players also started to tense up.
"Sir, please follow me," the butler interjected timely.
Xu Huo followed him to the second floor without a word.
After he left, the baby-faced man said grimly, "I met him when I arrived; I didn’t realize he was a Cannibal Player then."
"What’s so strange about Cannibal Players? Every instance has them. At least now we can rule out one player," said the only female player in the group.
"I won’t cooperate with a Cannibal Player," the dark-faced man said.
"Don’t make it so obvious," another young man holding a wine glass remarked: "You all know the game mission; we can’t guarantee that internal conflicts won’t arise. It’s better for everyone if we don’t become hostile prematurely."
The other players exchanged glances and seemed to agree with this notion, no longer continuing the conversation but returning to their respective rooms.
